Elias walked around his room. He had a room. It was amazing. He had his own office and his own classroom. Soon he would have his own students. It was a dream come true. It wasn't his dream, but it had to be someones. He made his way to the back of the room and propped open his door giving the room a more welcome look.
This classroom was not an ordinary classroom. Eli had thought long and hard about where to start with the class. Eli remember the old professor. Fagin had taught Eli not so many years ago. His classes were alway interesting not because of the subject, but because of the professor. Eli doubted he was that interesting, so he had brainstormed an idea for a lesson and come up with one he thought would be interesting.
Eli turned his back to the door.He was looking down a hallway. He walked down the hall way, checking the living room and the bathroom, making sure everything was in place. The headed toward the kitchen and the bedroom. In the bedroom he fluffed a pillow and then headed back to the front door to herd his student into the living room, the first room on the left. Elias waited, wringing his hands wondering how this lesson would fail.

She was about to go back to the common room, she was tired and she thought that her day was over. She did not like to consult her schedule just because she thought she had it all in her head but she did not since the second she reached the portrait of the fat lady she smacked a hand to her head realizing that she had muggle studies class.
Running back down the stairs she had to sprint toward the room. Last thing she wanted to do was be late and have points docked from her house.
Walking in she realized that yet another new professor was gracing them with their presence. How amusing, it seems things changed a lot lately. Saying a cheerful hello she found some place to sit class should be interesting.

Muggle studies a class she was bound to be good at just because well muggles weren't all that complicated. At least in her mind. So many told her that the class was a soft option, the kind of class people took because it was pretty much really easy. Kendal hadn't technically taken it for that reason but hey it helped she thought she could manage to get a pretty good grade which is something she needed. She wasn't much of an academic so any class she thought she'd do well in was the one for her.
Only one person was there when she entered an older girl Ginny Weasley to be exact. Ken nodded to her and smiled before sitting down.
Seeing that they had a new teacher to boot she smiled. This is one she hadn't seen before. Hmm, wonder where the old professor got to? Then she noticed for the first time that it wasn't a regular classroom they were in, it looked like a muggle's living room. That was actually pretty cool Kendal couldn't believe he'd gone through all that trouble.

This was her last year at Hogwarts. Well, as a student, but that wasn't the point. Erys had yet to speak with the Dark Arts professor about apprenticing, and she'd have to do it soon, before someone else nabbed the spot. Like they'd live long enough to see it finalized! Anywho, she figured she might as well take a class she wouldn't be caught dead in otherwise.. Muggle Studies! Oh, that class will just love having her present. Hating muggles, and all that. They did everything the hard way, without magic at all. And all their sappy feelings.. It was quite disgusting.
Reflecting this mirthfully, Erys Grace slunk in, her eyes flashing green in the shadows before stepping into the - assumingly - better lit classroom. "Professor." She murmured, finding herself in a nicer mood as of late. It wasn't likely she'd go easier on the other students just because the sun was shining, in fact, she hated the sun, but back to the point now.. Her mood was hers, and she wasn't about to share her good graces with one of them. So, typical day, she took a seat in the back, summoning her supplies and getting set up.. Only it wasnt typical, because this didn't look like a regular classroom. It was a 'living room'. Oh, this class was going to be fun. With a flourish of her wrist, the books and parchment and ink vanished with a small pop, and she propped her weight on one leg, arching an eyebrow while rolling her shoulders back. Some lesson this would turn out to be.

Muggle studies wasn't an easy A per say but it was a class she knew she'd do well in who in their right mind wouldn't take a class like that. Plus muggles were cool despite what a lot (namely Slytherins) thought of them. The way they learned to live their lives without magic, they learned to travel in the air by creating airplanes, they learned to entertain themselves by inventing games, and creating movies as well as TV. They have their own sports when if you think about it were a combination of the game of quidditch. Yes muggles weren't as dense as poeple thought they were. They were just at a disadvantage because of their lack of magic.
Excitement wasn't the word she would use to describe her feelings about the class but she didn't think this was a class she was gonna fail so why not be glad about that. Walking into the room a smile on her face she caught sight of others already there. One face she recognized immediately was Erys there was just always something about her that scared Alexis but they had never had a run in with each other and for that she was truly glad Erys from stories she had heard and there were plenty wasn't one to be trifled with. So Alexis made sure to take a seat very far from her. No where near any of the others either.
Then she noticed that the classroom kind of had a living room vibe going on about it. So they were going to learn about how muggles did things in their home? It wasn't muggles games but it could still be interesting.

Leaning on the fireplace, Elias smiled as the first student wandered in. He nodded his head toward her and said, extending his arm toward the couch, "Take a seat." three more students came in, two of what Elias would call the 'normal' muggle studies student, one, a Slytherin. Remembering the days of his old muggle studies lessons, he seemed to recall the ones that caused the most trouble were the Slytherins. Why they bothered to take a class they obviously despised?
Elias checked his watch on his wrist. he frowned, he knew he would fail. Four students was all the class managed to bring in. He sighed and standing up, he put his hands in his pockets and rocked slightly. He wasn't the best public speaker, not that this was really public.
"Morning..." he said, his quiet voice shaking a little. He cleared his throat. "So, this is a muggle house." he said, "well, not really a muggle house, I made it, so it not really a muggle house, no muggles live her...uhh..." He looked over the students, and cleared his throat again. "Now I thought we could go through the house and perform some basic muggle function in each room." He smiled, awkwardly. Even to him it didn't sound to exciting. "Uhh...First," he said turning, "Is lighting a fire. Does anyone know how?" he said, he knew his was sweating from nervousness, he hoped it wasn't showing.

Wow, he must be new at teaching or something. Seeming bored, Erys Grace raised her hand, "Matches. Flint. Or if you want to use the cave man way, then go with twigs. But I'd much rather use matches, if I cant use magic." Just because she didn't like muggles, didn't mean she was completely clueless about them. Moving her head to angle her eyes around the room - like a cat, she just realised - she soaked more up of her surroundings, deciding then and there she preferred her home, even with her disgusting father, than this dump. They were usually just flowered prints and wallpaper on the walls! So dull, so tedious..
Wrinkling her nose, the Slytherin turned back to the professor, arching an eyebrow. He was sweating? My, she could smell it. Finding this a tad entertaining, she grinned, pretending to occupy herself with the scenery yet again. No need for him to soil himself on his first day, right? Even if that would be a hilarious addition to her day.

Class was about to begin and Kendal twitched when she saw who walked in last. Erys was the last person she expected to see there and was the last person she wanted to see at all. After that run in Kendal avoided any contact with Slytherins. She shifted her eyes to the front of the room the teacher was what she should be paying attention to not Erys.
He informed them they were in a living room, she smiled that was one thing she had gotten right, but now he wanted to know how to go about lighting the fire. Another surprise was Erys responding. Kendal wondered how a muggle hater such as herself would even know that. Kendal then raised her hand as well "before lighting it with matches you'd probably want to place something withing that would be a fire starter like some dried paper or something to catch the wood on fire. Then use the matches or one of those long lighters."

Elias smiled, again awkwardly, at the young Slytherin and then at the Hufflepuff. "This is a very well informed class." He said laughing slightly, then clearing his throat. "Well, uhh, yes, all of those way would work. What I have here..." he said, turning and taking a bunch of newspaper and matches from the table nearest to him, "is all we will need today. Most muggles use, uh, newspaper, and matches." He said, starting the obvious. The class was going down hill very fast. He could see the flashing signs. 'failure. failure.'
Elias loosened his tie. "Ok then, does anyone want to try lighting the fire?" He said, an obvious face of pleading on his face. He hoped his students were getting the subliminal messages he was sending them, 'SAVE MY CLASS!'

Being extremely intuitive, it didn't take much for Erys to notice the danger signs flashing in the professor's eyes. Such a poor thing.. He should have come with a better lesson plan than to fly by the seat of his pants. Stepping forward - if only to gain her house more points, rather than save this dull class - the Slytherin nodded, reaching out to take the newspaper and matches from Ripley before approaching the fireplace. True, she hated this class, and also true was the fact that she had taken it a year or two earlier. She knew a lot about muggles, despite the fact that she despised them. Without the beauty of magic, what was the point of even living at all?
Shaking her head with a roll of her eyes, Erys tore out sheets of the newspaper, crinkling some in to somewhat smushed paper balls. Not small, just the kind you use when you want to shove them underneath pieces of wood. She knew what to do, stuffing the paper underneath the logs and leaving edges sticking out for her to light. Withdrawing a match from the box, eyes flicking around it for the rough edge, Erys struck the match against it, green eyes transfixed as the flame popped from the end. Bending down, the Slytherin leaned her arm forward to light the paper aflame, waiting for the fire to spread to the other sheets. Tossing the match in after, she put the paper and the matchbox back on the table, slapping her hands to remove the dust as if to say 'easy peasy'. But of course those childish words would never once be spoken on her lips. "There." Erys stated smoothly, a small smile on her face.
