Erika strolled along the rows of books, tapping her finger against her bottom lip as she scanned the shelves for something to read. "Hmm... what to read... what to read?" she mused to herself, her dark eyes sweeping back and forth from one book to another.

Erika turned and glowered at the girl that had the nerve to yell in a library of all pieces. When she saw who it was, her face softened slightly, nevertheless, she stalked over to Sarie and hissed, "Are you insane!? You don't yell in a library! Not unless you're trying to get yourself kicked out anyway!"

Jac had been leaning against the side of a shelf away from the traffic in the library, reading up on The Tournament, when she heard shouting. Rolling onto her shoulder, Jac smiled at Sarie, winked and walked up behind the taller girl, growing three feet and much more hair. "And you'll get kicked out too if you don't watch it," Jac said in a wheezy whisper.
Shrinking and becoming herself again, Jac laughed quietly at the girl's shocked expression. "Got ya," Jac piped through her fits of laughter. "Hiya," she said with a nod to Sarie, "alright?" She smiled at the small girl and turned back to the other Gryffindor. "Now, you'll have to tell me that you're having a crabby day to pick on a first year like that. Especially one in your own house." She didn't enjoy little kids being picked on and would defend them if she wasn't the one doing the picking. When it came to her own, however, it was never a question, always a fact: she would stand up for them. If she didn't, who would?

Erika rolled her eyes and scoffed. She was not in the mood to be messed with today! "In case you haven't noticed, we are in a library!" she drawled, "And are people supposed to shout in a library? No. I was merely informing her, that if she didn't want to get kicked out, she needs to keep her voice down." Erika gave an uncharacteristically cold smile, making sure that her razor-sharp, vicious fangs were visible enough to be a warning to the girl that she was not someone to be messed with! Smirking, Erika ran her tongue over her fangs, "I'm Erika by the way. Erika McCallister."

Jac was taken aback by the girl's retort. It was harsh and Slytherin-like. She wasn't used to people taking her seriously either, this was the biggest shock by far. The girl had ignored her display and Jac didn't like that. She clearly knew too much or was too ignorant to register what she had seen. Either way, Jac didn't like it. "I don't care who you are," Jac said, giggling as though that was an obvious fact, "you don't need to go around doing that to small girls."
She glanced quickly at Sarie, smiled and winked again. "Ooo," Jac said, waggling her fingers just in front of her face, "someone fell off their broom the wrong way today." Jac laughed (but quietly seeing that it was the library). "So she made a mistake, big whoop!" Jac shrugged, "let it go and move on." She was implying that Sarie should leave before this unstable bomb went off good and proper.

Sarie covered her mouth. Her annoynce had made her forget where she was. "Sorry I need to find a book on broom care and i've looked though half the library already. Can some one point me in the right derction."

Erika sighed and ran her hands through her hair. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to snap like that. I just haven't had any blood in a while, and that tends to make me grouchy."

"I understand I'm a bit annoyed with myself. I forgot where I was so its my fault." She sighed. "Need to find a book on broom care before the end of term."

Erika looked at the girl thoughtfully as she tried to remember where she had seen a book on broom care. "Hmm, did you ask the librarian? I'm sure she'd know where you could find one."

Jac crossed her arms and grinned in pride. "See?" she said, glaring at Erika, "we can all get along." Sarie, though small, had lots of courage to ask for help right out like she did. Jac admired that in the little girl and nodded. "No need to bother Marsh with this. Got just the book for you," Jac said, ignoring the cranky Gryffindor. "It's right here."
Jac rounded the shelf and removed a book off the top shelf, growing slightly taller to reach it. She came back and put an inch thick book with red leather bindings in Sarie's hands. "There you go," Jac said, smiling proudly, "Quidditch Through The Ages by Kennilworthy Whisp. Got loads of cool things in there besides a history of quidditch." She smiled at the girl again.

"Thanks Jac owe you big time." She said taking the book. She opened the book and started reading and walked away. She had gone to find a table and took out so parchment and a quill.

Erika narrowed her eyes. "You know, you don't have to accept my apology, but that doesn't mean that you can continue to antagonize me either. I've already told you why I'm cranky, and trust me a hungry vampire is not a good thing!" She turned away from the two girls and crossed her arms as she glared vicously at the books in front of her, as if they had done her a personal wrong.

"You are most welcome," Jac said and watched Sarie walk off. "Consider us even," she called after her, "you stole that drink from Ian and I gave you the book. We're quits." Jac shook her head and laughed quietly. "Sorry," she mouthed to all the people who had looked up from their books, "sorry." Jac snorted a laugh again and turned on her heal to see the other Gryffindor was still standing there.
Jac listened to her, amused, and although she knew full well she was in the library, let out a loud bark of a laugh. "Well, that's just dandy, isn't it?" Jac didn't believe the girl. It was to fantastical to be taken seriously. "Oh please," she said, "so you're a "non-wizard part-human creature of the night, are you?" Jac dragged every word out in a mocking frightened tone. "Please, you wouldn't be taught here at Hogwarts because so many fear them. If the Ministry found out a vampire was at Hogwarts, it'd be shut down for sure." Jac laughed again at the preposterous idea.

Erika had to bite her lip to keep the smirk off her face, she liked this girl. She was bold, daring, and seemed to be relatively unafraid. Erika raised her eyebrows in amusment, "Well Jac, have you ever thought about what might happen if a vampire got out of control? I've seen it happen, I've had it happen to me. The results are usually far from pretty." She paused, and gave the girl an intense look before continuing, "Jac, you may know alot about vampires through reading about them, but just reading, is not the same as experience. The truth is, my kind is dangerous, after all, we kill humans and drink their blood don't we? But there is a way, to live without killing, but for most vampires it's very hard. So you see, we are dangerous, but that doesn't mean that we shun ourselves from society." With that, Erika turned and walked away, "If you ladies want to talk to me, I'll probably be out hunting." she called over her shoulder.
