Gray skies, and snowy grounds, those were often characteristics associated with winter. Well, this season was no different. As Gabriel walked outside, he was unsurprised to find the sky covered with clouds, and the ground blanketed with snow. His hand were shoved in his pockets as he made his way over to one of the benches and sat down.
Snow wasn't as piled up over here by the school, probably thanks to the caretakers. Otherwise, students would probably be running around and smashing their heads on the concrete after slipping. Sounds fun right? Yay for near death experiences!
With a small sigh, Gabe rested his arms across the back of the bench and stretched out his legs. If someone tripped over him, well, that was their fault for not looking. Plus his legs hurt. That owl of his that his mother bought him decided to play fly-away with him so he was left jumping up and trying to chase his owl around the owlery. Luckily for him, no one was around to see it.
Sigh. What to do, what to do. None of his mates were back from their little vacations yet. Ski trips, tropical vacations, the works. And here he was, stuck here, all alone without anyone to talk to. Some friends.

Ash walked along the cobbled stone of the courtayrd, he sighed with boredom as he kicked up a small drift of snow. The snow wasn't as thick here, he figured it was due to the caretakers. Wouldn't want students cracking their skulls now would we?
Looking up, Ash spotted a blond boy sitting on a bench. He smiled sadly, for some reason, blond boys reminded him of Maxi. He hadn't seen Maxi in ages, and couldn't help but think that Maxi was mad at him for getting enagaged. And at the age of seventeen no less.
Ash walked over to the boy and gave a small smile, "Hi. Mind if I sit down?"

Finally! Someone noticed the poor, bored and lonely boy. But..it wasn't exactly someone he had expected. Gabe had been really thinking that some Gryff would come by and push him off the bench or something. Off the bench and into a snowpile, now that's a nice one.
Cracking open one of his eyes, Gabriel noticed the Claw boy standing near the bench. He shrugged lightly at the question and tilted his head back again, with eyes close. "I don't own the bench, go ahead." Gabe moved his arms off the bench back and shifted down the bench, making more room for the boy. Some company was better than none right?
Now, who was this boy? He didn't look very familiar, meaning that Gabe hadn't seen him around the school often. But, the boy didn't look much older than himself. Hmm, let's think Gabriel. Claw boy, black hair, blue eyes. Merlin's pants I must've seen this kid around somewhere.

Ash laughed as he sat down, "Well, I just wanted to make sure you wouldn't hex me for sitting down. I've actually had that happen to me alot." He shrugged, "Of course it was mostly by Slytherins, so go figure."

Polaris meandered around the snow covered grounds quite bored, since it seemed that all od the students have gone on christmas vacation with their families. "I never did understand the whole Christmas thing.." She muttered to herself as she kicked a chunk of snow out of her way while continuing to walk forward.
After her boots has hit what sounded to be cement ( Or rock.. or what ever the couryard was made from..) Polaris lifted her head to find two boys sitting on a bench in the courtyard. With a warm smile and a slight wave, she approached the boys and sat down on a bench parallel to them. She recognized on boy, Ash, but not the other.
"Beautiful day, isn't it?" She said with a thick nordic accent accompanied by a friendly smile.

"I can't say it's ever happened to me before mate."
Gabriel shrugged lightly. The people he usually sat by were his mates anyway. They didn't tend to hex him unless he had it coming. And, he could usually tell if one of them was mad or something, so he tended to stear clear of them during those times. Plus, who would willingly sit down next to a Slytherin?
His fingers tapped lightly against his pant leg, a sign of his boredum. He had been hoping that this Claw boy would be able to do something to spark his interest, but no dice. Gabe still didn't know the boy's name, how rude. With a small sigh, he looked back at the emo-haired boy.
"By the way, I'm Gabriel Clowes. It's nice to meet you.." He left the sentence hanging, expecting the boy to fill in his own name.
More sounds of crunching snow, and then there was a girl seated on the other side of them. Gabriel turned to return her smile, but he laughed at her comment. "Well, I guess it would depend on what type of weather you prefer. I'm more of a summer man myself."

"Summer?" She asked almost in shock. How could anyone like those high temperatures. Them again, she was biased, having fainted many times due to over heating. "Sure, the sun is nice, but the heat.. blech." Polaris commented in a joking tone, sticking her tongue out.
Just a few minutes previous to her arrival, words were being exchanged by both boys and she only had caught the tail end of the conversation. "Gabriel was it?" Polaris had managed to say in a hesitant tone. Damn. That name was a hard one to pronounce for Polaris and it came out more sounding like 'Gae-berae-ell'. Ah well. You can't be perfect at everything. After saying his name, she mouthed it a few times to herself, just to get the hang of it.

Ash smiled, "I'm Ashton Laurent." Then he heard a familiar voice, "Oh, hey Polaris." he said, smiling at his friend.
