[Hogsmeade] Frolicing and Such

It was a cold December day but the sun was shining brightly. Made Tessa almost think the snow would melt any minute but alas, it didn't. What a way to spend your birthday. Tessa was now seventeen years old, practically an adult and yet, she received a total of one present and that was from Jamie. Tess didn't expect anything from her mother since Julianna had no idea how she would send it to her daughter and didn't like owls. So there Tess was; left to wander the streets of Hogsmeade on her birthday to treat herself. But what to get?

Tessa wanted something more than a book, something her mother always got her to promote more classes but Tess was no Ravenclaw, she had enough on her plate with the classes she was taking already. She didn't want to be something she wasn't. This thought made her cringe as a big History book flashed in her head. She tried to make her mother happy but she never received top marks and knew that she was doing her best as it was.

Walking along the streets of Hogsmeade, she peered into the windows of the shops spotting things she liked but would never have the money to afford. Tess sighed and ran a hand through her brown hair. She was turning around when she felt her shoulder collide with another. She lost her balance and stumbled backwards only to catch herself on the glass window of some quidditch shop. "I- Sorry," she said shyly staring at the ground.

Gray had come to hogsmeade, armed with his money and a good long christmas list. His family were at the top, shortly followed by Leo, Isabel and his newest friend Olivia. Though in all honesty he didnt quite know what to get Liv. She seemed interested in books but that was all he had really noticed about her. Still, he came here to browse aswell so he would save getting Olivia's until he saw something that struck him.

"Im sure she wouldnt like a person as a christmas present."

He mumbled, the joke would obviously be lost on this Hufflepuff he knew by name and face that was all. He had seen her in the common room and in a few classes, but since his time was usually spent with Leo, Izzy or Liv he didnt really speak to anyone else. He heard her apology and mumbled something that sounded like, Its alright.

"Tess right?" He asked, pocketing the christmas list, "Gray Deluca. I dont think we've ever spoke before have we?"
