Another grunt erupted from Shay's throat. "Oy. You can't expect me to pay attention..." He grumbled. He wasn't about to finish his statement, for it included him calling himself stupid. "And pixies can attack. And trolls may not have the brains and common sense, but they still can put up quite the fight." He mumbled, embarrassed a little.
Okay. So Shay didn't have the common sense to tell what was something dangerous. But at least he was attempting. He would probably know the more dangerous things, if they were attacking him. But let's face it, Shafer wasn't about to pay attention in his classes. He just wanted to be away from home, without hearing his brother, Leo, complain and cry, and listen to Marten mope about the house because Travis was out living his life, and left him behind.
Shay grunted again. "Well then, what is dangerous?" He knew he was about to be attacked with a list of creatures, so he prepared himself to pretend to listen.

"I didn't say I expected you to give a right answer." He said, which was the truth. Bradyn expected Shay to fail that little pop quiz miserably. If he didn't, why would be even need private tutoring in the first place? "and I'm sure some pixies can make a real mess of your hair, it's fine."
Bradyn had a more serious tone now, he was done picking on the kid for now. He was getting down to business and going to see what he could do to help Shay. "Hmm.. dangerous. Well boggarts are dangerous, they become what you fear most; werewolves are dangerous, they have no self-control and their bite can kill you or turn you into one; vampires are dangerous for about the same reasons, their bite turns you into one." He said, listing the ones that he could think of off the top of his head.

At Bradyn's comment, he realized he hadn't. "Oh.. Sorry, Bray.." He mumbled. He hated it when people corrected him when he snapped at them. Shay smirked lightly at his comment about pixies, and scratched the side of his head. "That would be bloody annoying." He chuckled.
Shay listened to Bray as he began naming off creatures. "And trolls can smash you to the ground." He added, in a smart-ass way. Turning the pages through the book, he began wondering what else would be a killer, and basically every page contained something along those lines. "Anything in this book that can't kill you or destroy your life?" He grumbled, hoping there would be at least one thing along those lines.

Bradyn nodded. "I'm sure, it'd take forever to make a comb-over look nice when they rip out the rest." He said, sighing and resting his head against his arm. He was bored, teaching the stuff is just as boring as learning it. He watched him look through the book. Shay almost looked as if he never fingered through one of those before, and there's a pretty big change that that's true. "Hmm, let me think. Your mum? Oh wait, nope." He said, deciding that poking fun at him was just a little bit more fun than being serious. "But they do go in levels of danger, like cornish pixies would be low danger since they're easily imobilized; boggarts are moderate because as long as you know the riddikulus you should be fine; and vampires are extreme danger." Maybe teaching him this way will work, making a joke then elaborating with facts?

Shay chuckled. "True. Rather annoying as well." He mumbled, turning the pages. Merlin, how much longer until the damn bell would ring? He wanted food. He wanted away from this embarrassing situation.
Dark, cold eyes shot a glare at Bray. "Leave me mum out of this. Bad enough she put me in this, don't mean you need to poke fun at her." He snapped. His mother was one of his weak spots. He looked up to his mother, and usually was in intense hate when people offended her.
He continued flipping the pages, hoping to burn off the steam with extreme page turning. Shay's head nodded lightly, pretending to listen to Bray. "Interesting." He mumbled, as he turned another page. He slammed the book shut, and clapped his hands together once. "Alright. I'm bored with this already." He said grinning. "Got anything interesting for me to learn?"

Bradyn frowned. Shay had the death glare down pat, there's no doubt about that. "Alright, mate, I'm sorry. That was uncalled for." He said, and took the book away from him after he shut it, afraid that he might get mad at it again and accidentally rip a page out this time.
"Your bored with it, well then I'm not quite sure how I can help you. You got to learn what's interesting, and what's not. That's just how school is." Would teaching Shay transfiguration or chams even be safe? Bradyn did not want to see a bunch of ferrets running around hexed by his student.
