Hikaru smiled at the Gryffindor. "Very good question Ms. Biggerstall. The reason these rules are here, is to keep the class in order. It is much easier to learn, if the class is orderly. Also, it makes class easier, because I spend less time yelling at students to be quiet, and more time teaching. Plus the first few are just common courtesy."

((Your not allowed to find a life Nobody is ))
Alex walked into the lesson, gracefully falling over a chair as he did and finding himself on the floor for the god only knew what time this week. Quickly standing up and pulling the chair up, he ran a hand through his hair and gave a cheeky laugh, "Not my most graceful of entries into a classroom." He laughed, nodded to the professor and sat down with a grin on his face.

Hikaru smiled as Sarie entered the room. "Morning Sarie. Today is just an introduction to the class." Turning he saw a Ravenclaw stumble into the room. He laughed softly, "Don't feel too bad, I've had my share of clumsy moments as well!"((and yes, i agree with dan, no one's allowed to have a life!! ))

Jac nodded to the teacher as he explained the rules. It was simple enough but just like Jac she read too much into it and confused herself beyond all understanding. But as the professor explained all was cleared up and Jac felt better. She smiled at the professor and looked at Bijou. "Good plan if you ask me," she whispered. Sarie spoke and Jac laughed. She remembered the professor saying they were just going to talk in this lesson. But as soon as the laugh had escaped her lips, Jac's hands were covering her mouth. "Sorry," she whispered.
Luckily, a distraction tumbled into the class and Jac quickly whirled around to see Alex enter. Jac laughed again and when he sat behind her, Jac spun around in her chair and leaned her arms around the top, resting her chin on her hands. "I don't think I've ever seen you enter a class more gracefully then that," Jac teased with a chuckle and a wink at the Claw.

Hikaru raised his eyebrow as Jac turned around, "Ms. Biggerstall, pay attention please." His tone was firm, but his eyes held a bit of a twinkle, letting Jac know that this was just a warning. Hikaru sighed and looked around the room, "Now, can ayone give a definition, in your own words, of occlumency, and when you might use it?"

"Occlumency is the way of protecting your mind from out side things. You use it when some is trying to enter your mind." Sarie knowing what she was talking about. She need occlumency or she thought she did.

{ I'll join the lesson, if you still want people who may/may not have lives. xD }
Slipping into the room as a cat and standing as a human, Erys Grace flicked her eyes around the room almost, impatiently. It was already in full swing, yet she was the first Slytherin in there. Seems like every time she entered a classroom she found herself having to look for her housemates, it was ridiculous. Clearly she was one of the rare few who actually cared about her education, which was shameful, as her house rivalled Ravenclaw for intelligence. Ah, well. Their loss. Brushing off a few strands of hair off her shoulder, she straightened up, whisking her wand and summoning her supplies before taking a seat in the back. After a while or two of pointed glances, she added, "Oh, yeah. My apologies, professor." Erys muttered with a quick, discreet eye-roll.
Scrawling down her notes in her beautiful trade-mark script, Erys looked up, waiting for someone to say something that might hint on as to what point of the lesson they were in.[/color]

((Well I have no life so I'm game lol))
She heard about this class and she had been excited. At first she thought it wouldn't be open to someone her age but she found out that it was. How cool would it be to learn, she had to take the class. So she headed that way happily humming a little ditty she had gotten stuck in her head.
Upon entering the room she just caught this really friendly vibe in there, which of course was always good because it made a class that much more enjoyable. She looked around for the professor and at first thought he or she hadn't arrived yet but the she spotted him and had to say she was a bit stunned. He didn't look anything like she thought he would. Taken aback but in a good way she smiled and said hello as she joined the rest of her classmates.
She walked in after the professor had told the class what they would be discussing so she made sure to open her ears and listen to what was being said then she would have a better idea.

Hikaru glanced up as two girls entered the room, one from Ravenclaw, the other from Slytherin. "Ms. Grace, Ms. Heart, you're late. That wil be five points from Slytherin, and five from Ravenclaw. Now find a seat please." He turned his attention back to the class, "Would anyone else like to voice their opinion?"

Alexis' face went from cheerful to angry in the course of a few seconds. She had never lost points for her house, never and now this? Five whole points were to be deducted, it wasn't as if she'd shown up that late it was only a minute or two. She took a seat and was seething already disliking the teacher who had so unfairly docked her. Taking out her books her face still set in a scowl she had barely heard a word he'd said after he deducted points, actually she didn't give a damn what he had to say at the moment. Already she was wondering if there was a better class she could take with a nicer professor.

Hikaru glanced around the room, his gaze falling on Alexis. The girl was scowling, she seemed to be angry that he had taken house points. Personally, Hikaru thought she was being a bit childish to be angry over something as trivial as a few house points. Especially since she was late and therefore did deserve to have a few taken off. Nevertheless, he smiled at the girl and said, "Ms. Heart? Would you care to give an oppinion?"

She had been busy seething and wasn't really paying much if any attention. That was unlike her but it wasn' like her to loose points. She knew deep in her heart that the professor was doing his job but she was a kid it was just easier to blame someone else when you felt something was unfair. Plus she thought he could have been a bit lenient. So when he called her name she barely heard him. It just so happened she looked over at him noticing he was looking over a her. The question he asked barely on her radar, he asked her opinion but the only one she had right now she was sure she couldn't repeat in class. Offering up a smile that didn't quite meet her eyes "no opinion at this time sir" she said sweetly as possible. How she managed that was beyond her.

Who wouldn't want to know it? Any proper Slytherin worth her weight in gold would want to learn Occlumency. She technically had an inkling about how to do it, she just wasn't a novice yet, so she figured she'd take this class after she heard about it from others. Apparently the teacher was new so she had no idea what kind of person he was. Hopefully he wasn't too persnickety because she had no use for that.
Walking in she took a seat way at the back right next to one of the few people she liked at the school, Erys Grace. Angel hadn't heard what came before and wondered if Erys knew what they would be covering that day. Staring at her friend she leaned over just to see if she had written anything down yet. Apparently, she hadn't. Maybe the class hadn't really fully begun.
