'Me? Dirty little secrets?' Effie put on a mock offended look. 'I'm far too innocent for that sort of thing. Besides, us Ravenclaws have the sense to talk about private matters in private places.' She smirked before turning to look back at the masks and gaining a uncharacteristic serious expression.
The Ravenclaw presumed that the green and yellow mask now definately led to their corresponding house common rooms. She remained quiet, realising the centuries of students that had only seen their own common room, and here they were able to access them all. Which brought other questions into her mind - who put the masks there? and perhaps more worringly, why? What could the reason to have these spying masks stashed away possibly be. Effie had a feeling that they weren't going to find out any time soon.
'Well, that leaves two.' She finally said, regaining a small smile. Her eyes darted from the centre mask that she still really didn't like the look of, to the other untouched one - a small, elegant white mask. 'After you.' She gestured with one of her hands for Harrison to chose his next mask. Effie presumed he would go for Slytherin common room, so he could embarrass all his enemies with secrets he heard there or reveal all their quidditch plans to the Gryffindor team. Little did she know that he had become interested in the mask that she was so eager to avoid.

Harrison held his wand light over the black mask for a while longer, it was hypnotising. He wanted to touch it, feel the cool wood underneath his smooth figures. Taking another step closer he licked his lips and lined his face up to fit in with the mask. His heart was pounding in his chest as the small bit of common sense he actually had started to kick in. Maybe this was not going to be the best idea he had ever had, but then when did Harrison Greg think twice?
Somehow he managed to tear his gaze away from the mask and look back at Effie, his puzzled expression matched on her face. The silence that had fallen between them was chilling, almost as if something had took hold of Harrison’s tongue and would not let him speak. But his eyes said it all, the small glint in the left eye that was overpowering any doubt that might be present…he was going to put his head in the mask.
Turning back to face the wall he look directly into the dark depths of the centre mask and slowly moved his head in. The sensation was the same, the feeling that he was being squeezed through a small tube, but this time he could not breath, he was spinning, spinning as a blur of colours went past him. It was not stopping and not wanting to close his eyes and miss a second Harrison started to feel sick. But slowly everything began to slow down, there was a room, a dim light and distant voices. Although things never became clear as almost as soon as they had settled he felt a blast hit him and he went flying backwards.
Opening his eyes Harrison was lying on the corridor floor staring at the damp ceiling. He tried to catch his breath only now realising how little oxygen he had in his body. But the only thing he could think of was how it was all Effie’s fault. Sitting bolt upright, eyes narrowed he saw red as soon as his eyes landed on Effie.
“Why did you pull me out? You had no right to even touch me you half blooded Ravenclaw.”

'Don't!'
Effie had learnt to always trust her instinct, and instinct told her that the black mask was bad news, but before the words had left her lips, Harrison had plunged his head into it. She grabbed his arm and frantically began trying to yank him out, but unlike before where he had been dragged out with ease, he seemed to be stuck.
'Get - out - of - there -' She said with each word corresponding to a tug of his arm, but it was no good. Effie dropped his arm with an exasperated sigh - immediately presuming he was remaining in there on purpose.
Only a moment later, Harrison was thrown out of the mask, nearly sending them both flying. The Gryffindor crashed into the floor, missing a collision with Effie by mere inches. 'Are you alright?' Effie said as soon as her breathing got back to something like normal. He pushed himself up to a sitting position, and suddenly shot his head to look at Effie with anger flashing through his eyes.
She backed away from the Gryffindor, disgust etched across her face. 'What did you just say?' Harrison was a lot of things, but never that, surely?

The anger was clear on her face and all Harrison could do was laugh, but it was his normal joy filled laugh or not even his cheeky laugh but one that had venom in it. With a glare Harrison watched the Ravenclaw step backwards questioning what he was saying. The only problem was that Harrison did not know what he was saying, he was not sure what was happening but slowly to red mist, or should it be the black mist slowly faded away and Harrison found himself sitting on the cold and damp floor of the dark corridor and looking up at Effie. He did not say anything, he only blinked before quickly scrambling to his feet and walking back over towards the black mask. He ran his fingerer over the edge of the mask and mumbled to himself. He wanted to know where he went, what he had seen and why he had been thrown out of it. He wanted to go into it again, he wanted to…he had to.
Turning back to Effie Harrison grinned and laughed once more, his teeth seemingly shinning in the wand light to look like they were pointed. His eyes gleamed as his fringe flopped over his eyes.
“You want a go??”

She stared at him pointedly, waiting for an explanation. Instead he just laughed - a strange and horrible laugh. It looked as if he was about to speak, when he suddenly scrambled up to face the mask again. Confusement filled her expression, she couldn't understand was he was doing, and rather than answer her question, he came out with the last thing she expected.
'No, I don't want a go.' Effie said, shaking her head in disbelief. 'What was all that 'don't touch half-blood' rubbish? Some kind of sick joke?' She looked at him, eyebrows furrowed, still keeping her distance.
Her eyes darted towards the black mask as if she was expected something to leap out of it, before darting back to the Gryffindor. 'Where did that mask take you? What did you see?' Unconsciously her grasp tightened on her lighted wand.

Harrison found it strange how Effie was so tense. He gave one last look back at the mask before turning to look at her once again, a grin filling his face showing his perfect white teeth and the light from the wands casting shadows on his face. His eyes flickered over her, searching every aspect, every feature and all he soaked in all her feelings of worry, fear and even excitement. “I did not say anything like that.” Harrison spoke quickly and blew his fringe out from his eyes. “Why would I say anything like that? Who do you think I am? Some sort of SLYTHERIN!”
His voice was slowly getting louder until it was shouting into Effie’s face. His hands were clenched into fists and his muscles were shaking as he was trying to reframe himself from using them and trying to throw as punch at the Ravenclaw. Something was wrong and Harrison knew it, the only problem was every time he opened his mouth he would say something completely different, something that was not him. But as Effie started to question him about the mask his urge came back, he spun on his heel and once again followed the outline of the mask.
“I do not know what I saw. It was dark, there were people. I want to find them…I have to find them!”
Almost as if he was under some sort of spell Harrison began to walk off down the corridor, he only had one focus and that was to find that room and the people who were in it and learn all there secrets.

There was a flicker of confusement in Harrison's eyes that appeared as quickly as it disappeared, making Effie unsure whether she had seen it at all. She watched as he looked back at the mask, and forward again with an unnerving grin on his face. Something about it was not quite right... not quite like Harrison.
'I knew that mask was bad news.' She muttered under her breath, quiet enough to escape the Gryffindor's hearing. She was beginning to understand that something had happened to him. His eyes searched her for a moment or two, and just as the uncomfortableness got too much for her, he spoke. Harrison's voice grew louder and louder, until he was shouting at an alarming volume and his body seemed to shake with anger. Effie raised her wand, the stunning spell on the tip of her tongue.
He changed again. His anger at her seemed to have drained away in an instant, much like it had erupted. He turned on the spot, and set off down the corridor at a speedy pace. 'Greg!' She yelled after him to no reply - he merely continued down the corridor in a determined fashion. She jogged after him, skidding to a halt in front of the Gryffindor with both hands held in front of her to stop him roughly. 'You may have gone completely insane Harrison-' Her tone and expression were far from happy, as she searched his eyes. '-But I think I prefer being with someone insane than with no one at all in this place.' Her hands were still forcing him to remain on the spot, as she gave him a shove.

Harrison just kept walking and walking, the corridor looked the same. The walls as dark and damp as the last, the echo of their footsteps echoing around them and all Harrison could think of was he needed to find that room, he needed to get out this corridor, away from Howard and find out where and what was in that room.
“Those voices.” He mumbled to himself. “I need to know who they are, I need to know what they wanted.”
However he soon was forced to stop by Effie, she was in front of him holding him still making sure that he could not move and all that for her to talk nonsense. She had ruined his train of thought, ruined the momentum he had, she had…. Harrison looked into Effie’s eyes and all he could think of was how much of a prat he was being and he could not work out what in Merlin’s name was going on. His gaze was fixed upon Effie and he did not want to look away from her in fear that he would lose it again, that he would go ‘insane’ again.
“Howard I think we need to get out of the corridor, I need to get away from this place…away from those masks.”

Her annoyed shove seemed to stir something inside him. His eyes lost their far off look, and finally came to focus on her and what she had said. Even his expression seemed to change in an instant, from determination to a mixture of confusement, and perhaps even fear. Where ever that black mask had taken Harrison, it had done something to him, but Effie realised there wasn't the time to worry about that now.
‘I think that’s probably the most sensible thing I’ve ever heard you say-’ Her usual smirk finally crept back onto her face. ‘-Come on, let’s get out of here.’ Grabbing Harrison's hand, in case he decided to go mental again and run off, Effie pulled him down the passage at a jog, with her wand held firmly in front to light the way. She skidded round a corner, still dragging the Gryffindor with her, and after a moment or two came to a sudden halt and swore.
'It's another dead end!' In fact, it could have easily been mistaken for the dead end at the start of the passageway, it had the same missing brick, the same pattern of slime but her logical mind told her it couldn't be the same one. She moved her wand over the brickwork, before turning around to face Harrison.
'Well, now what are we going to-' Her sentence was cut off as something grabbed her shoulder.

It would be safe assumption to say that for first time in his life Harrison was actually scared, he did not know what had come over him and he feared that if Effie let go of his hand he would be sent back into the blackness. However one thing that did make him smile was that when he told the lads that he has been running down a dark corridor hand in hand with Effie he would get a slap on the back and Blake would most likely started to ruffle up his hair as normal. But as they reached a dead end Harrison looked over at Effie in bewilderment and it seemed that she too was feeling the same. It was the same wall they were back where they had started, maybe in all the confusion they had started to run in the wrong direction but as they found out from last time there was no way out.
Harrison joined in with Effie and started to use every swear word he could think of the describe the situation they were now in. If is Grandma had been around she would have been disgusted to hear her perfect grandson use such words. Luckily it was only him and Effie, but for a second Harrison thought someone else was present as he felt a hand on his shoulder but as he turned his head to look at it there was nothing there however a there was a bright flash and both him and Effie were flying through the solid wall. His grip tightened around her hand and before he knew it they were lying in the middle of the corridor next to the statue of Martha the Merry. Groaning Harrison pushed himself up so he was sitting on the corridor, looking around to make sure no other students were present.
“What the hell had just happened Howard?”

Effie and Harrison exchanged wide-eyed expressions for just a second before the invisible force sent them flying backwards into the light. Their grasp tightened, and Effie instinctively shut her eyes, not wanting to know where they would be thrown next.
She hit a surface as roughly as she had been thrown into the passage in the first place. After a moment of catching her breath she opened an eye, squinting around at the surroundings. 'Well thats-' The other eye flew open as she realised that they were right back where they started. '-weird.' A smile of relief crept onto her face - she was glad to be out of that passage, no matter how amazing their discovery was.
She slipped her hand out of Harrison's, only then realising they had still had their hands held together, and pushed herself up into a sitting position as the Gryffindor asked a question. 'No idea.' Effie answered simply and honestly. She suddenly shot her head to face him, and eyed him suspiciously. 'You've stopped being a nutter now right?'
