The Character
Name: Layla Leala Lemoine
Nicknames (if any): Ell, elly, Li'l L
Age & Year: Sixteen, sixth
Blood: Her great-grandmother was a Veela, but the rest of her fmaily is pureblooded
Wand: Olive wood, occamy shell, six inches. Sturdy, good with hexes.
Personality: Layla seems to be a very cheery, friendly girl upon first impressions, always smiling and waving to people... What isn't as obvious is how manipulative she is. Although most people who meet her find her very warm and friendly, if anyone crosses her the wrong way they tend to find out quickly just how vicious she can be. She is very close with her friends and when anyone hurts them it hurts her as much, and hurts whoever hurt her friends twice as much. She's all for the eye-for-an-eye idea.
Appearance: Tall and slim with shoulder length blonde hair and deep brown eyes. More often than not there's a smile is plastered on her face, but when it's not there you had better hope she's not frowning at you.
History: Layla is a complicated girl. Her parents divorced during her first year at Beauxbatons and she had a really hard time with it, though because of it she also hardened herself towards any future disappointments by not letting many people get close to her, and the few that do she's very close to and would protect with her life. Her father works at the Ministry of Magic and he was the one who transferred Layla to Hogwarts, against her mother's wishes.
Her mother attempted to console her though, saying that there were probably a lot of bad memories for her at Beaxbatons and her father had probably just wanted to make her last two years as joyful as possible, but Layla knows better. Although her father hasn't flat out said it yet, he's hinted that she should try to get in good with her teachers by telling them whenever someone does something wrong, though when he "amazingly" found out the Minister of Enlightment would be there, he suggested that any troublemakers should be reported to her. What a coincidence...
Although Layla herself does not agree with all of the Ministry's decisions, she is also quite irritated at having to leave Beaxbatons, and hopes that if enough trouble turns up the school will close and she can go back. A bit of a drastic plan, but she's a bit of a drastic person.
