The Character

Name: Akira Miyagi

Meaning: Light
Age & Year: 16, sixth year
Blood: Pure
Patronus: Oddly enough, her patronus takes the form of a bamboo stick, that beats away Dementors with a vengeance.
Wand: Akira doesn't use a wand, but instead, her fan (seen in signature picture). Because her family is an ancient line of Japanese wizards, and the unique customs of where she lived, she wields a fan instead of a wand. At each end are two thicker pieces of wood, holding the fan together. They have Chimaera blood cores, and are crafted with black bloodwood. 7 1/2" long, she keeps her fan with her at all times, often using it to cool herself down when not casting spells. Good luck beads and feathers dangle from the bottom-end of the fan.

Personality: Most think that Akira is shy and softspoken, when the truth is, if she could only learn how to speak and understand english better she would speak her mind. Despite that little weakness, she tries her hardest to comprehend what others are saying and reply with the same courage. Akira is kind hearted and brave, standing up for herself and others when need be. She excells at Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures, but hasn't explored much other areas to see if she could be well at that too. Respectful to teachers and other students, what she lacks in muscles she makes up for in her strong spirit. A daring person, Akira is unafraid to do something reckless that requires an unlimited amount of bravery. She will push herself as hard as it takes.

Appearance: Due to the dress code at her old school and personal preferance, Akira always wears a loose kimono, slung off one shoulder. It was her previous uniform, and shes hoping she can still dress the same when coming to Hogwarts. (seen in her signature picture) She has soft, pale skin, and a slim body. Slightly curvy, Akira stands at 5"7, but somehow manages to retain a delicate look. Her roundly shaped lips are painted a red to compliment her skin tone. Her eyes are a pretty gray, often confused for lavender. She wears smoothly applied eyeliner, and mascara, little pieces of western culture she has accepted while trying to fit in a bit more. Akira's silky hair is black as a raven's wing, a little wavy, and reaches to just above the small of her back. She wears oriental jewelery in her hair.

History: For reasons unknown to her, Akira and her little family moved west. She has good relationships with both her mother, father, and her baby sister. Always returning home for the holidays, unless told otherwise, she was enrolled at Hogwarts. At first reluctant to accept their foreign traditions and strange ways, Akira slowly warmed up to it, deciding then and there that she would succeed in this place. Her house is extremely Japanese, complete with beautifully painted paper walls, and a large garden surrounding it.
