Personality: This girl is a perfect example of the word sporty. She loves being active and hanging around with her friends whenever she possibly can. They're the only thing that don't make her feel trapped in the school. She mostly tries her hardest to be positive and keep her spirits up when she not feeling so great. She's a very supportive person and is a really good friend to anyone she meets.

But even though she tries to be positive, it is true that Rose can catch herself being a little high mateniece. She has her moments were she can be bossy and demanding but after she realizes her bratty phases, she snaps out of it. Most things don't get her in a bad mood but there will be certain tiny things that can make her upset. Besides those moments, Peyton has many playful and fun traits that come from her when her friends are around.

Peyton is for the most part quite the friendly little student, even towards the jerks. She is almost always seen with a smile on her face and tries to give help to anyone who asks for it. She is giving and loving. Her determination and bravery are no doubt the reason she has a good group of friend to depend upon. Peyton likes being who she is and even if some people may find her annoying on some day, she doesn't really care, only if she gets the chance to be herself and enjoy her life to the fullest.

Peyton is a born leader, and a tough girl. She is passionate, and no matter what happens to her, nothing can extinguish the fire that burns behind her eyes.
However she has, like anyone, feelings she tries to hide. Her courage allows her to see past her own fear. She is a loner most of the time, and doesn't trust easily. She has no real friends, just a lot of acquaintances. Peyton finds it painfully hard to let down her defenses, and let anyone in, and in the end she is the one that suffers because of it. Peyton is a nice, endearing girl, with a lot of character. She is very compassionate and loyal. She has a fiery temper, which can get the best of her, and never hesitates to turn on anyone who deserves it. Although she tries to control her temper, it can get the beter of her, and some people hold that against her. She is a strong girl, who tries never to cry. People sometimes see her as distant, because, although they can tell her anything, and she will be loyal to them, she never tells them anything about herself.

History: Peyton Smith was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to two loving parents, Veronica and Oliver. But things in the two parent's relationship suddenly went bad. Oliver was caught cheating on Veronica with a co-worker, and they immediately divorced when was fifteen months old. She can't remember her father, and her mother rarely mentioned him after the break up. The two bachelorettes lived in Atlanta for most of Peyton's childhood years. During this time, Veronica began dating another man named Bill, and they were nearly married. Unfortunately, Bill broke up with Veronica because he found out she was a witch. Veronica was so in love with him that this news was impossible for her to believe, and she went into a depressed point in her life when her daughter Peyton was about seven or eight.

Veronica was all ready for Peyton to receive her letter to the magic school, but some issues turned up. Because of her depression, Veronica had recently started smoking cigarettes. Peyton was too young at the time to notice, but her mother was falling into a downwards spiral that would never end.

Peyton, on the other hand, was very happy at school. She had made many friends, mostly guys, but hey? She was still extremely happy. Everything went well for her. She was good in school, she had plenty of friends, she wasn't cursed in the looks department. Things just seemed to be getting better and better for her.

At age 11, Peyton was enrolled in the local magic academy and there she excelled. However, time without her young daughter made Veronica fall further down the dark hole of despair that she would never be able to get out of. Peyton first noticed that her mother looked extremely bad when she came home for Christmas in her third year at the school. Her mother looked unhealthy, way too thin, and had dark circles around her eyes. Peyton worried for the rest of the year, until the summertime.

When came home for the summer, an awful event happened the first night that she was home. She heard a scream from her mothers bedroom, and she tumbled out of bed and ran to her mothers room to see what was wrong. She opened the door to find her mom, lying on her bed with a razor in one hand and blood stains all over the covers. Her mom had killed herself. She quickly dialed an ambulance, but it was too late, and her mother was already dead.

For the rest of the summer, Peyton was extremely down and sad. The closest family members still alive were her grandparents, and they lived in London, so she was relocated there. Most of the time, she would just sit in her room, staring blankly at the walls, the horrible memory haunting her mind. Her grandparents tried to talk to her about it and it cheered her up slightly.

As well as moving, she was transferred to Hogwarts to continue her magical education. When she first arrived, she took her grandparents advice and tried to stay as positive about her situation as possible, even though she was still sad.
