Russell laughed when he heard what the nasty friend who his brothers had tortured in their very special way had done. Of course he would never condone what his brothers do but it did seem to have been something commendable this time. "I shall have to introduce you three, sometime," Rus said with a wide smile.
"My brothers could handle you, though," he added as an after thought, after a moment's silence, "I'm sure they'd tell you they could." He smiled at her again and tried to imagine how his brothers would react. His imagination wasn't nearly that imaginative so he gave that up as a bad job. "And I don't think you're spastic or spacey but if you're happy with who you are, that's all that matters." He always told his brothers that but they never seemed to understand.
Russell frowned. "Why might your assessments show differently?" he asked, "such a clever girl should be top of her class and you're a Ravenclaw, that put's you pretty close to the top, even if you don't try." He had hardly ever tried, except with his O.W.L.'s but that was for a specific reason which he would rather not go into. But he had also always had fun in and out of class, it made the whole school experience more enjoyable.

"Why, yes you shall. Sounds like we'd all get along smashingly..." she paused for a moment, then added on, "Figuratively speaking, that is. Wouldn't really go around breaking things... and if anyone asks I'm sure you'll be able to testify to that," she smiled innocently.
She laughed, "Well, if you're so certain of that then I'm quite sure we'd get along. I mean, you've lasted this long, so if your brothers are anything like you I can't imagine that it wouldn't end up being too disastrous." She was actually surprised at how well she was getting along with Rus, being that he was so much older than her. But he seemed pretty cool, kind of like an older brother. And he didn't seem as superficial as most guys she knew, kind of... fortune cookie wise.
She giggled, "The whole 'ignoring the lesson plan' thing doesn't really go over as well in class as it does in the common room. Some of the professors know that I know what I'm doing, they've seen some of my work outside the classroom... it's just in the classroom itself... well, I get bored. I don't goof off, I just kind of... space out, and forget what the teacher's say. I've tried taking ntoes before, but I end up writing stories instead." She shrugged, "One of my quirks I guess."

Pixle said smashing and seemed to regret the choice of words because she was soon explaining herself. Russell laughed and said, "I get it, I get it." It was adorable to watch Pixle explain herself. "And you can count on me to do just that," he added to her mention of testify.
Russell's smiled quickly feel. "My brother's are nothing like me," he said quietly, then he lightened and smiled, "except having a weakness for beautiful women." He rolled his eyes and laughed again. "But disastrous is always fun." He knew that his brothers wouldn't disappoint and that they'd make it a meeting to remember. He just hoped that it wouldn't be a painful experience or scaring. He absently fingered the scars on his cheek while still smiling at the Pix.
"I can imagine," Rus said thoughtfully, rubbing a bit of stubble under his chin, "that getting spaced during lessons wouldn't help much." He shrugged, thinking of a way to help her but being unsuccessful. "Vance is a stickler for attention so keeping eye contact in his class is essential. Owen is a little dreamy so getting away with daydreaming is easy in her class. Vickers likes to captivate his classes so as long as you look interested you should be fine. Hubbles likes input so a bit of a problem there, I think. Morley is that same. Gainnes, well, I can't really say anything on her being new and me not taking Ancient Runes. Um, who else is there?" He rubbed his chin thoughtfully, looking at the high ceiling. "Jones, well she's great really because you're usually walking around and asking questions. Most teachers like inquisitiveness, come to think of it: Starsmore, Morgan, Goth. But Fagin wants opinions so another snag there." Rus had gotten a little sidetracked and now smiled at Pixle as if to say sorry.

She tilted her head as Russels cheery expression seemed to fade momentarily. It brightened shortly, but Pixle made a mental note to ask him more about his and his brothers relationship later. "Disaster does have its high points," she said thoughtfully. "I think it tends to be the punishment after disastrous hilarity that gets people down."
She shook her head and giggled, "Nope. Not at all, but I don't mind..." she listened as he began rattling off the names of all the school's professors and what they expected out of their classes. She beamed, "Well isn't that a handy little tidbit? Thanks!" she stood up and hugged Rus around his neck. "Maybe with that trick I won't get targetted for detentions so much."
She sat back down and watched as the little fire-butterflies slowly began dwindling down, eventually disappearing in a puff of multi-colored smoke.

"Pity my ruddy brothers rarely get caught," Rus said thoughtfully, his brow pinched into a frown. "They could get away with murder if they wanted to. But I hope they never want to murder. They may be little terrorists but that level of meanness I don't think they could cope with. They are Parkhursts after all." Being a Parkhurst did mean a certain level of heart and Russell knew that even Aidan and Derryl had that.
"But detention isn't always bad," Russell said, "I remember once O'Donnell gave me detention. Made me test drive all the brooms she had. It was brilliant. She had me do drills one all of them. What a work-out!" He chuckled and ran a hand through the hair that had fallen in front of his face. "And what about your family? Any siblings?"

She tilted her head, "Hm... you never know. That may come in handy for you someday. Just think about it... You're stuck in some sort of... sticky situation, and along come your brothers to talk your way out of it. Works out quite geniusly," she nodded firmly. She knew quite well that she had probably made no sense at all whatsoever, but she knew that if she tried to go more in-depth with her hypothetical situation, she would probably just end up looking like a spazz.
She laughed. That sounded like a fabulous detention! She loved flying... more so to keep from walking than anything else, but she did enjoy Quidditch! She shook her head at the mention of siblings, however, "Nope. My parents think I'm enough trouble with all the letters they get. I sometimes think it would be nice to have a little brother or sister, but then I think about having to share my room and things with another kid... It's not that I'm selfish... at least I don't think so..." she drifted off momentarily as if re-pondering this thought, before continuing on, "I just don't think any other kids would be able to live with the mess I make. I get enough complaints from the girls I share a dorm with about my part of the room." She hushed her voice and leaned in, "It kind of looks like a bunch of Nifflers attacked it, which could actually be a plausible assumption with all the glass beads I have hanging in my window."

Russell laughed again and again as Pixle spoke. She was a bright young girl and funny to boot, my brother's would definitely like her. "My parents always wanted a big family," Rus said, rubbing a hand over his biceps, "and they got it too. And with four of us, so different, I feel sorry for my dear mother during the holidays and everyone's at home. My brother's run riot, my sister can never be found and I'm usually locked in my room, trying to get away from my brothers."
Rus gazed into the fire and smiled absently. "Have you ever wanted siblings?" he asked. There was a difference between having and wanting and Rus knew that all too well. He might say that he didn't want to have his brothers as brother but he couldn't imagine life without them and wouldn't want to. Next year was going to be strange. Once he was graduated and out of the house he was going to miss his brothers, that was for sure.
