Bradyn laid on the floor, curled up with a book. It was an unusual sight, but he really didn't want to talk to people. It'd been almost a week since his feud with Felicity-- Fay, his best friend, being dead to him now-- and they hadn't made up. They hadn't even talked without yelling at each other. Bray blamed it on PMS, and that was the cause of many of their arguments. So here he sat, in his own common room, with just a book for company. As he stared at the words, losing the focus and the drive to actually read them, he wondered what his other friends were doing. Shay was probably sleeping, and Maxi was probably patrolling.
Looking up at the fire from his place on the floor, he sighed. Many people thought he was mental for always laying on the floor, but they also knew Bradyn found the spot in front of the fireplace to be more comfortable. It was one of his catlike aspects that sunk into his human form. Only a few people understood this, most not able to make the connection even if they knew about it. "Buzz off." Bray said suddenly, sensing someone a little too close for comfort.

Felicity threw her books into her room and collapsed onto the bed. Homework was done, thank god. Essays, research, everything. Fay sighed and turned back around. Well, she could sit by the fire at least. Maybe that would calm her nerves.
As Fay bounced down the steps, she unloosened her hair from the tie and it brushed across her shoulders. She hated having her hair up late at night, because then she usually forgot to take it out before she went to sleep.
Felicity went over to sit over by the fire, but stopped when she noticed Bray sitting on the floor, as usual. She forced herself not to twitch, or punch him, or something. Cooley, Felicity strode past him and took one of the chairs nearest to the crackling flames. At his 'Buzz off' her eye twitched. She turned to glare at him. "Oh sorry, I didn't know this was your common room. My mistake." Fay snapped her head back to the flames and remained silent, not wanting to strike up a conversation with her so called kitty-friend.

Bradyn perked his head up from his reading when he heard who responded to him. He saw Fay and realized he was glad that he was made of flesh and bone, not ice. Wincing a bit, he frowned. “I’m sorry.. thought you were someone else” He muttered before going back to his book. It was on Quidditch, and maybe his team spirit was telling him not to snap back at Felicity like he would usually. Bray didn’t really expect Fay to respond since she looked like she was ignoring him, and if she didn’t even hear him that would be all the better. He didn’t want her rubbing whatever she could in his face; Bray wouldn’t be able to take it. Not now, anyway. May moved in to the castle yesterday, and he had a hell of a time avoiding her.
Bray stared blankly at his book, pondering for the millionth time just skipping Transfiguration, or having her change her last name, or changing his. Anything to get out of this situation. Bradyn also heard rumors that the new teachers were relatives of students. These were true, of course, but he hoped most people didn’t believe. He’d only told Bry about May, since he wanted to surprise Ash and of course Fay and him weren’t on the best of terms with each other. Sighing, Bray sat up and turned to face Fay. He’d force her to say something, anything, and not just ignore him. He missed his best mate, and this had gone on long enough.

Felicity rested her chin on her knees and stared blankly at the fire. How long had this little feud been going on anyway? A week perhaps? Maybe more, or less. It was unusual for Felicity to hold a grudge this long, especially against one of her friends.
Fay let her hair fall back into her face as she tilted her head down and rested her forehead on her knees. She faintly heard Bray sigh, and she tilted her head slightly toward him. "What? Disappointed I haven't killed anyone yet?" Felicity even winced as she said it. She had no reason to be this mean, but she couldn't help it. Fay turned back to watching the fire, her eyes tight.

Bradyn's mouth dropped open and he gaped at Fay for a while, before finally regaining control of his limbs. Forcefully shutting his own mouth, his gaze hardened into an icy glare. "Oh, is that so? I heard you came pretty close with Ash's dad." He said through a clenched jaw. Bray tries to be the peace keeper, the bigger man, and be nice but what does he get in return? A load of bullshit, that's what. 'Well, fine, girlie. If that's how you're going to be.' He thought angrily, a fist clenching in his frustration.
Turning back around sharply, Bradyn picked up his book and decided to go back to ignoring her. God knows it's a lot safer than trying to peacefully confront her. Flipping the pages quickly and not looking at the words, Bray glared at the book debating whether or not it was quieter in the dorm room.

Felicity's head snapped back up, and she turned to glare at him. Of course, Ash's dad. The one Fay had popped in the jaw. "I was trying to protect a friend, I think that was reason enough for what I did. That man deserved it." She tried to keep her voice even, even though she wanted to scream at Bray at the moment. Yelling at each other wouldn't help.
She rested her head back on her knees, letting silence fall once more. After a few minutes, she sighed and looked up. "Look, I'm sorry for snapping. It was stupid, and childish." Fay dropped her head back down and let her hair cover her face. She fought back whatever tears or anything that wanted to spring up. Her stupid emotions got in the way again. Damn her for being a girl and having those emotional waves.

Bradyn continued to glare. "Oh, I see. That's true friendship, attacking parents. If I had known, maybe I wouldn't socked your mom." He said, talking louder than usually but not yet shouting. Glaring down at the floor, he continued to fume and flip through the pages of his book, lucky that they weren't tearing from the force he was pulling them.
Bray heard her apologize, but he kept his jaw clenched and ignored her for a while letting silence answer her. After a few more moments, he decided he would say something afterall. "That's alright, it's easier to yell.." He said simply, not really apologizing himself or accepting hers.

Felicity flinched at his jab, and didn't raise her head. "You didn't see him. He was hurting[/b] Ash. Smacking him, shouting at him. Calling him scum. I couldn't just sit there." She shut her eyes and shook her head. She'd been getting snide comments all week about how she 'attacked' Ash's dad. All of them thought she was unstable, or something.
Fay didn't respond to him. Just because it was easier didn't mean it was any better. She wanted to scream, throw something, stomp around even. But she didn't, Fay barely moved. A tear escaped her and stained onto her pants. Felicity cursed under her breath and turned her head away from Bray. Maybe she could go up to the room and just scream and cry all she wanted.[/font]

Bradyn sighed, obviously he'd upset Fay just a touch too much. "I know, I know. But that doesn't mean it's your job to intervene, you should've let it happen. You should've let Ash stick up for himself, instead of needing a girl to come to his rescue. You probably just got him in more trouble with his dad." Turning back to her, he watched her carefully before saying his next part. "Instead of helping him, you really hurt him." Closing his book, he tossed it on the ground next to him, making sure it was out of the fires reach. He didn't want Marsh to slit his throat because a book set on fire while he wasn't paying attention.
"But it's okay, because it's just May? He has a while before he has to go home and live with the man." He grunted and decided he'd just drop it. It's not like him talking about it was going to make Fay feel better, or forgive him. It probably just made things worse.

Felicity gripped her legs tighter as he continued. But, Ash began to stick up for himself after she shouted at his father for being such a jerk. Maybe he just did because she was there? So she gave him false confidence. But, Ash's dad probably wouldn't be able to yell at Ash for a while, because of the pain that she had caused him. "I just don't think parents should be like that. They should be there to support, not to torment." Her eyes tightened as she spoke. Felicity turned back to the flames and glared at them.
After a while, she decided to bring up the question that had been nagging at her all week. "Do you really think of me...like that?" Fay glanced over to him, then away again. "That I'm a monster?" Maybe she was, in more than one sense of the word. Snapping at Ash's dad, charming men, and her short temper toward people who threatened her friends. Was that characteristics of a monster?

Bradyn frowned, feeling really bad about what he said. Getting up he moved and sat on the arm of Fay's chair, setting a comforting hand on her shoulder. "I know that's what you meant.." He paused, not sure how he should continue this. "But, you really shouldn't interrupt things like that. If you encourage him to fight back, he's not always going to have someone like you to have his back. And I don't really think Ash could take him down by himself, no offense." He smiled at Fay, knowing that she couldn't see, knowing that she wouldn't care but still hoping that it would reach her.
He didn't know why he was suddenly being nice, and Fay was being weepy. As of late, it had just been both being cold to eachother, and Bray figured that today something snapped in them. Or perhaps someone put something in their food, that might be the more likely choice. Frowning, he didn't really know what to say. "Fay.." He said, but no words came out after that and he just sat there quietly, not sure what to say. Of course he didn't think she was a monster, but there were times when he just didn't know.

Felicity blinked slightly as he layed a hand on her shoulder. Well, this was weird. Bray should be mad at her for snapping, or something. God, something was wrong with them. Fay never cried and Bray usually cracked some sarcastic comment about her emotions. God, someone seriously messed with something in their diet.
The only thing he could think to say was her name. Well, that didn't really make her feel any better. No answer. Did that mean she was right? Felicity laughed slightly and wiped her eyes. "Look at us. Me getting all weepy. You not throwing around some sarcastic comment. What the hell is wrong with us Bray?" She looked up at Bray, eyes slightly red from the tears and that stupid grin on her face. If he was going to try to make up, so was she.

Bradyn frowned, still trying to think of what to say, but still nothing came. He couldn't say that he thought of her as monster ever, it just wouldn't do at all. But would saying anything else be a lie? He didn't really know and decided to just keep quiet. He realized how close he was and scooted away a little when Fay looked up.
Bray couldn't help but laugh at her, when she tried to wipe her tears she managed just to smudge her makeup. "I don't know, raccoon-face, I think someone must've drugged us." He smirked, unable to keep that comment in when she just looked so funny. "It was probably Ash, maybe he's jealous that someone wears more make up than him, and decided to sabotage her!" Bray laughed a bit, but more of a with-you-not-at you kind of laugh, and he tried to cheer Fay up too. If he wasn't going to dwell on the monster comment, he'd hope she could let it go too. "But seriously, I was.. out of line, and angry. Could you ever forgive me, oh panda girl?"

Felicity looked at her fingertips, noticing the black smudges from her makeup. "Well, at least I'm not going anywhere today." She let the raccoon comment slide. "Oh my! Not Ash! The horror! To think, I've out-done him in make-up. What kind of girl am I?" Fay turned her head away and layed a hand across her forehead. She burst into another round of laughter.
"Fine, fine." Felicity stood up and tugged down her skirt, it was started to ride up. "Being mad at you is hard anyway." She flipped some hair over her shoulder and out or her face. "Oh, and I probably have you to thank for getting me angry enough to pop Ash's dad in the jaw." Fay rolled her eyes slightly. "Not like he didn't deserve it, but still."

Bradyn couldn't hold it in anymore and he burst out laughing. "Yes, he's definitely out to get you for that, putting his makeup to shame. How could you!" After he managed to choke out that, he gradually stopped laughing. Still smiling he resisted getting up and hugging Fay.
Bray nodded, "Yeah, I mean, I didn't have my best mate to be like 'Oh em gee, look at that slutty bitch. She's all over that boy.' with." He snapped in a Z formation as he said that but ended up rolling his eyes and laughing under his breath. Sometimes he wondered why he even bothered to open his mouth sometimes, when all that came out was idiocy. "And that makes me feel loads better, I indirectly injured Ashy's father!" He shrugged, not really bothered by that. Because, after all, he deserved it.
Scooting off the arm of her chair, he plopped into it. "Well then, now that all is good, I'll just be taking your chair."
