Loren and Ian had been fighting the whole time for dominance of the peepholes, and as the two men departed and they were left to look at each other quizzically, Loren realised that what they had just witness was something highly confidential and spooky. 'Who on earth were they?' She asked with wide, somewhat angry eyes. 'Magical Law Enforcement? Agenda?' She shook her head slowly, disbelieving.
What indeed was happening to Hogwarts as of late?
Loren looked over Ian's shoulder to see, bizarrely, that even the griffin had taken to leaning forward in an attempt to eavesdrop on the two men. Upon noticing that Loren was staring at it, it quickly reverted back to struggling and silently screeching, seemingly embarrassed.
'Oh that looks nasty...' Loren suddenly saw the glint of bloody out of the corner of her eye and looked down at Ian's hand, wincing in pain for him.

Ian pulled away from the spyholes, frowning, and turned toward Loren a bit apprehensively. "It looked like it was secret as well," he said, worrying his bottom lip. "From the Ministry by the looks of it, and that's never a good sign."
Following the Ravenclaw's gaze toward the Griffin, Ian quirked a slight smile. "He seems to be quieting down..." Just as he was about to jump off the fireplace and retrieve the heavy chain once more, Loren's voice caught him off guard.
Flushing profusely, and running his cleaner hand through his hair embarrassedly, Ian shrugged. "It's fine, suffered worse splinters in quidditch." He said, just a tad arrogantly, before giving her a small, reassuring smile, and turning back to the peepholes. A thin crack surrounded them, creating a large, oddly shaped rectangle.
"Do you suppose this is some sort of doorway? It looks like it opens to the dungeons." Turning back to Loren, his ears still somewhat red, he sent her an inquisitive look.

Loren smiled knowingly. 'Well, we'll pop up to the hospital wing in the morning then... I suppose it'd look a bit suspicious us running in there at this time of the morning... especially since we're from different houses.'
Drawing her attention to what did indeed seem to be a doorway, Loren tried to stand up a little, beginning to feel around the crack for some sort of clue as to how it moved. Dust and grit sheared onto their heads, and she closed her eyes in annoyance. 'We better not get stuck in here. What time is it? We'll be walking around in our pajamas while people head for lessons!' She gave a shocked squeal as the stone suddenly lurched toward. It fell flat on it's front, cracking right down the middle, the slamming of stone against stone so loud it echoed for a good for seconds.
'Oh no! What if they heard?' Loren whispered, referring to the ministry people. Sure enough the shouts of voices could suddenly be heard. 'Oh, Merlin! Let's get moving!' She dragged Ian out of the fireplace, helping him pull the griffin at the same time. It threw it's head about angrily, seemingly determined to stay and have them caught.

Ian grabbed the edge of the opening for leverage, his fingers closing over it tightly as he pulled the Griffin's chain. Placing one foot on the dungeon's stone floor, he jerked his arms back with Loren's help, causing the Griffin to wail silently as it was forced forward.
The voices were getting closer and Ian winced as the chain rattled against his torn palms, until finally the Griffin was pulled through the make-shift doorway. Letting out a brief sigh of relief, Ian jumped over the, now clattered, stone and dust on the floor before looking around for the exit.
"We're near Professor Black's office, I think," Ian said quickly, running blindly toward the exit, leading both Loren and the Griffin around the first corner that appeared. The creature trudged behind them reluctantly, though obediently. It seemed the dark, moist passageway unnerved it, especially compared to his previous warm, dry space.
"Over here" Ian said breathlessly, reaching a staircase and climbing up them steadily. His legs were beginning to ache and he wondered how Loren was coping. "We'll need to get up to the seventh floor," he continued, before pausing for just a moment and looking at Loren with a bit of a mischievous smile. "That is where the Room of Requirement is, after all."
