Shabnam's eyes misted over, distracted and infatuated by the beautiful room they stood in. Their voices echoed as if in a cathedral, and pushing herself to her feet, Shabnam slowly turned on the spot, twirling gently as she watched the wand light sparkle against glass and marble, casting shadows along the carved stone and elaborate doorhandles. It was a cavern or colour and fanciness, and she didn't know where to begin in making up her mind about it - was it beautiful or sinister? 'Where are you going?' Shabnam mumbled as Sophie and Apollo seemed to shoot off toward the first door, Sophie seemingly allowing the enormity of it all to fly over her head.
Shabnam walked up behind Apollo and Sophie, stopping before a short flight of stairs that let to a very tall, narrow door made of silver silk and wood. She listened carefully, waiting to hear footsteps or whispers in the echoing room. But none came. Shabnam couldn't tell whether that spelt safety or danger. There had to be someone here, surely? 'I want to go back up the chute,' she said, tapping them both of the shoulder. 'We might not be allowed here - '
The sound of a single lock turning echoed.
Shabnam gripped Sophie's arm painfully tight, her eyes becoming wide like a rabbit in headlights as her gaze darted from door to door, searching in the gloom for one that stood ajar, someone watching them. 'There's no one there.' She whispered. Despite the sound, there really wasn't - she sensed there wasn't. Whichever lock it was, whichever door it belong to, it had done it on its own...
Without waiting for the other two, Shabnam skittered up the steps and yanked on the door handle.. The moment she did so however, there was a great sucking sound, like a plunger against a blocked drain, and the three of them were thrown together as the walls started moving at a frightening speed, the doors zooming up and away, the bridges demolishing themselves above their heads and materialising in new positions all around them - and all of it with a thundering roar. The three students had thrown their arms over their heads and crouched low, bricks and wood whizzing past their ears but not once scathing them.
Almost as quickly as it had come around, the chaos stopped. Trembling and with shallow breaths, Shabnam opened her eyes peered up.
The room and it's content had completely changed shape. In fact, they were no long even in the same room. 'Ace.' She gasped.
