Rakki sighed more to herself as she mused over recent events. She's cooled down since the fight with her sister (albeit she still refuse to talk to her) and she got that stupid paper done. Now, well, all Rakki needed to do was unwind and relax. Rakki took a sip of her water and looked around in boredom. Maybe when she was done, she'd go down to the lake and toss some rocks into the water.

The door squeaked in protest as Ashton coaxed it to move on it's hinges "Oh come on!" he growled impatiently shoving it open. Walking into the pub he blinked trying to adjust to the dim light after the bright sunlight outside. After his eyes had adjusted a bit he went up to the bar and ordered a butterbeer, he retrieved his drink and went to find a seat. Looking around Ashton saw a girl sitting by herself and decided that it wouldn't hurt to at least go and introduce himself. "Um... hi... do you mind if I sit here?" he asked softly. He had always been terribly shy, and not very comfortable with introductions, or asking people if he could sit with them.

Rakki blinked before looking up at the newcomer. It took a second for her to register what he said and when it did, she chuckled softly and rubbed the back of her head. "Sure, I don't mind." Rakki gestured for him to have a seat.

Ashton smiled shyly. "Thanks." he replied softly as he rather gracefully, especially for a boy, took a seat. "I'm Ashton McLane."

Rakki raised an eyebrow at the boy as he sat like a swan. Well, gracefully like a swan. "Rakki Gravestone." She smiled softly at him and nodded. "Nice to meet you."

Ashton smiled slightly, and in the same soft, dulcet, slightly melodic voice he had always spoken with asked Rakki, "So what house are you in?" He bit his lip nervously and pushed back his midnight-black hair to reveal sapphire blue eyes subtley outlined in silvery grey eyeliner.

"Slytherin, but there's no need to run away, I'm usually nice unless provoked." Rakki smiled. She noted some sort of dull glitter around his eyes (was that... eyeliner?) and wanted to ask, but decided against it. Even if it was, who was she to persecute him? At least he knew how to put makeup on. "What house are you in?"

Ashton chuckled lightly. "Well that's good to know!" he replied as he smiled at Rakki, "I'm in Ravenclaw." he said in reply to her question then he noticed the quizzical look on her face, "And in case you're wondering, yes, I am wearing eyeliner. That's not a problem is it?" he asked tentatively as he picked up his bottle of butterbeer to take another sip

"Hm? Oh! No, no, no!" Rakki chucked and waved her hands as she shook her head. "Nothing wrong with that. Please don't think me rude, it's not often I come across a boy wearing makeup because, well, there's nothing wrong with it." Rakki rubbed the back of her head and chuckled softly.

Ashton smiled and nodded as he took a sip of butterbeer. "Well, I can certainly understand why you'd be curious. Not many guys do wear make up! But then again there's probably not that many gay guys at Hogwarts either is there?"

Rakki's eyebrows shot up at that. "You're...?" She coughed and shook her head. "No, no, I'm sorry." Rakki looked around in a little panic, something she tended to do when she was afraid someone outside the conversation would overreact to something that she or the person she was talking to said. "Sorry, it's just not everyday I meet someone who's gay."

Ashton laughed softly. "Don't worry." he reassured her. "I really don't care what people think when they hear I'm gay. I mean I'm gay. So what?. True, it's hard when they automatically judge me for it, but if they can't accept me for who I am, that's their problem! So, you don't meet many gay people huh?"

"I don't meet many people, actually, I tend to stay in my comfort niche." Rakki drew an invisible square in the air with her fingers. "I tend to hide in the background a lot."

Ashton laughed, the girl reminded him of... well... himself. "I know what you mean!" he agreed. "So, what brings you out here?" he asked trying to strike up a conversation

"Stress relief." Rakki shrugged. "To make a long story short, I've been under a lot of stress recently. And since my sister thinks she owns the lake," Rakki's eyes darkened a bit at the memory. "I don't go there much any more." She shook her head. "What brings you here?"
