<sub>Matty sat there, underneath the big tree in front of the clearing. His life was not worth living. But if he killed himself, who would be there to protect his mother and sister. Nobody. If he left this cruel world, his mother and sister were soon to join him. His father would find them. Hmmm...they might have Lucian there to save them. but Lucian wasn't always going to be there to protect them from this fate we call life.

He sighed and looked up at the star-scattered sky. He tried to look for constellations, but couldn't find any, he couldn't keep his thoughts away from what could happen to his only family.</sub>

[Maeve Malfoy]

Maeve walked through the forest again. She was looking to clear her mind, and well... This certainly did the job. She was dodging creatures left and right at some times and trying to maneuvor through the trees, without running into one.

Coming to a clearing, she saw another person sitting under a tree at the other end. Smirking, she picked up an acorn and lightly threw it at the person. Which probably wasn't that lightly, having played Quidditch a lot and handling the quaffle.

_{Matty heard footsteps on the forest floor, though he gave no sign of noticing. Through his periphal vision, he saw an acorn pummeling towards him. He simply lifted his hand and caught it. He turned and saw a girl. He could tell she was a Malfoy, through her blonde hair that nobody else seemed to have. He chuckled. "Nice try. but if you wish to harm me, you might want to try a bit harder..."}

Maeve smirked and walked towards the boy. She tucked her hair behind her ears and nodded. "I'm impressed. Usually with this lighting, seeing an acorn coming at you would be difficult." She sat in front of him. "Anyway, what brings you to the Forbidden Forest?" She didn't recognise the boy, except that he was a fellow Slytherin. She'd seen him in classes, and that was all.

_{He watched as the Malfoy girl walked and sat in front of him. "You could say that I am fairly good at Seeking." he said, not taking his eyes off the girl. He sighed when she asked him what he was doing in the Forest. "I came here to kill myself. It was a failing attempt though..." he said, frowning.}

[Maeve Malfoy]

Maeve looked a bit surprised. "Slytherin Seeker at one point?" she questioned. "Why kill yourself? What's the reasons that would cause you to want to die?"

_{Again, Matt looked at the surprised Malfoy girl. "No, I've never been on any Quidditch team. I merely stick to playing Quidditch with my mother, sister, and uncle at home." he said, standing up and brushing himself off. He held out his hand for the girl to take it. "My life isn't worth being lived. The only things that are keeping me on this Earth are my mother and sister..."}

"Ah," Maeve said, taking a hold of his hand. "Quidditch with the family. You're lucky you get that." she smiled lightly at the boy. She stood up. "Why are your sister and mother all you have to live for, if I may inquire."

_{He started to walk towards the path that led to the lake. "Come on...let's take a walk." he said, in a very lovely whisper. He waited for the girl to catch up with him before speaking again. "Anna, my sister, would seriously kill herself if I died. I am her best friend. And my mother would most likely commit suicide also if she no longer had me and Anna. And if they didn't kill themselves, my father would find them eventually and kill them. I've been beaten by him before. I'm not afraid to give up my own life for them if it involved my father. I hate him."he said, still in that gorgeous whisper. "And I find it very hard to tell you this without a name to be calling you. By the way, mine is Matt Everage. You may call me Matty if you like. Everybody does..."}

She smiled sweetly when he offered to walk, and she did catch up with him, accepting the invitation. She listened intently and sighed when he finished. "It seems as if all of us Slytherins have a bad past, or a bad present. Even both." She turned her head to him. "I'm Maeve Malfoy Junior. And I really have to nickname to go by, Matty. People just call me random things."

_{He smiled. "Looks like I am stuck with both a bad present and a bad past." he said, laughing quietly. He could see the lake sparkling underneath the moonlight up ahead. He took his plain, black jacket off. He felt like swimming, but was not sure that Maeve would be up to it. So he didn't say anything. His Malfoy theory was correct. "So, a Malfoy, eh? I've heard they've been around forever. Them and the Blacks. Hehe, I do pay attention to what I read sometimes..." he said, somewhat flirting with her.}

She nodded. "I have both as well. I also have a bad future ahead if I don't change something before I graduate." she watched him take off his jacket and she looked ahead as well. Spotting the lake, she grinned. "Planning on swimming this late at night?" she took off her robes and casted them aside. "Yeah, my family has been around for ages. And the reason why the Blacks are also around is because the Malfoys and Blacks are related. Bella and Cissy are my 'cousins,' or long distant relatives of which we just shorten down to cousins."

_{He smiled again. "Of course I'm going to swim this late. Swimming at midnight is the best time of night to swim. And...I'm going to win." he said, dashing ahead of her. His hair had flown out of his face when he ran. When he reached the lake, he stopped and fixed it. He hated his hair being messed up. It horrified him.}

"Hey!" Maeve laughed when he ran in front of her. She ran after hin and laughed again when he stopped to fix his hair. "Good Merlin, you're more worried about your hair then I am about mine."

_{He laughed at her slowness. Then again at her comment. "Well, Miss Malfoy, your hair probably doesn't take forever to do every single morning, now, does it?" he asked her sarcastically. He smiled and waited for her to answer.}
