Jac had pulled Grace a bit farther when the ministry lady pushed them on and ran into the forest. "What's her deal?" Grace thought aloud, watching her go. Then she realised and began to make her way towards the castle. Jac's ghostly appearance was chilling but Grace felt like Jac looked.
There was another deafening howl and Grace stopped and turned to look. The wolf came charging out of the forest on fire. Grace's eyes went wide, "Girty!" she cried and began towards her, "we need to help her." She could hardly stop herself. She knew it was dangerous but nevertheless Girty was still her friend.

The push from the ministry lady caught Jac off guard and she fell head long onto the ground, sliding forward a bit. She grumpily pushed herself up, wiping the bits of grass and dirt that had been caught up. "Well," Jac huffed, shaking her hair till it was red, "good riddance, if you ask me," and without looking back began to walk towards the castle once more.
What a night? Jac thought, first bumping into Girty and then Prof and then the ministry lady then the werewolf. This is all little too much for my liking. She ran a hand through her now short hair and stopped, trying to clear her head. "We best keep going," she was about to say when she heard another howl. Oh no!
Grace stopped and Jac turned around slowly, knowing that was not a good sound. Jac was shocked to see the werewolf on fire and running into the lake. Grace called out Girty's name. Jac turned to her and caught her again as she tried to help her friend. Jac grabbed Grace by the arms and shook her. "Grace!" Jac huffed angrily, then slapped her, "Grace! Girty is a werewolf, she'd sooner eat you then look at you. You can't help her now. All you can do is stay alive, which, if you haven’t noticed, has become slightly less likely seeing that it's 200 yards from us. Let's go!" She pushed Grace towards the castle again. What is up with you tonight? Jac thought, looking at the back of Grace's head as she pushed her on.

Dan felt a sharp pain on the aside of his face, however he still felt slightly dazed so decided to keep his eyes shut for the movement. Although he soon became aware that he was moving. Quit confused on how this was happening Dan finally decided to open his eyes and see what was going on. Everything around him seemed to be spinning and a fowl smell was on the air. Wrinkling his nose and fighting back the urge to be sick Dan slowly realised that Quinn was carrying him towards the castle. Well that simply would not do. Not only was it implying that Dan was unable to look after himself, (he clearly could not but Dan had always been a stubborn fool and liked to believe he could do anything) and also it was taking him away from his sister.
“Quinn…Quinn I demand you to put me down at once. I am perfectly capable of walking and I also think you should be looking after the girls…where are they anyway?”
Dan’s train of thought went from one thing to another and he question was soon answered by the loud voices of both Jac and Grace echoing across the castle grounds. By the sound of it they did not seem happy or in fact safe. Girty had left the forest, he did all that in vain and now more lives were at risk. With a load groan Dan tried to push himself away from Quinn and try to save the girls.

The professor seemed to be regaining consciousness and began fighting her grip. I don't have time for this! Quinn thought angrily. She heaved him up, trying to keep him up but then dropped him unceremoniously. "Fine!" she spat, putting her face close to his, "if you want to leave your sister with the guilt of killing you, that's fine with me." Then added, standing up straight again, "that'll just be one less person to worry about."
She gazed around and heard the girls before she spotted them. They were right in the open, stupid girls! Leaving the professor she strode hurriedly towards the two girls, quickly catching up. "The castle is just ahead," she whispered, "so it would be a crying shame if I had to explain to your parents that you were stupid enough to not be able to get to safety before the werewolf attacked."
Quinn nervously looked around. She didn't like this at all, where is the blasted animal? It made her uneasy and edgy and gave her all the more incentive to hurry the girls along. "Hurry up!" she spat, quickening her pace a little more. She didn't look back at the professor, he's being so stupid too!

With a rather painful bump Dan feel onto the floor. His side began to sting with pain straight away, so quickly rolled onto his back breathing deeply. Quinn was right, he had been acting stupid, but it was only because he did not want Girty to hurt anyone else. With one last breath Dan pushed himself up a bit to quickly and suddenly went light headed. Everything went blurry for a second and all he could hear was the blood pounding in his ears. Knowing that he needed to act stronger in front of Quinn, Dan forced himself to stand up. He was rather fortunate she was not looking at him as straight away he lost his balance and stumbled a few steps to the left.
Straightening himself up and regaining his balance Dan had no taken four steps when he felt a pair of beady eyes fixed on him. Turning around slowly he saw the duck looking up at him. That duck was not normal and it seemed to have a grudge against him. Shrugging this feeling off Dan turned and began to jog over towards Quinn, Grace and Jac.
“I want all three of you to return tot eh castle now. It is not safe, not with Girty on the lose. I will lead her back to the forest and I do not want any of you following. I have dealt with Girty enough to know what she will do.”
With a meaningful glare at all of the girls present Dan began to walk towards the lake. He could hear distant splashing and grunting. He was more worried about the wolf drowning at present then being attack.

One paw in front of the other, hind legs kicking away and the odd mouthful of water eventually saw Girty wolf reach dry land. The creature took very small steps s it walked onto the river bank, gasping for air and shivering with coldness. At the least the pain at stopped on its side and the fire was gone. As the wolf tried to clear the water out of its snout, it smelt the ever growing closer sent of human flesh. It was the man it had nearly eaten before, and he was alone.
Letting out an ear piercing howl the would began to bound in the direction of the man, he would not get away this time. There was no human female to protect him, the grounds were too open and he would not be able to out run her, the only thing that would hinder her was his magic stick. Bounding ever closer and closer she could see the whites of the mans eyes. There was nothing he could do, he was fumbling around for his wand.
The creatures mouth was open, jaws ready to clamp onto the mans flesh. However a sudden impact in the wolfs side forced it to stumble off in the other direction. All it could hear was the quacking of a duck.

As Steve looked at the man in front of him he could not believe how pathetic he truly was. He could not believe that this man was teaching at the school, the poor students who would be taught to be as p[pathetic as he was. Knowing that he was more then likely going to get himself into trouble again Steve waddled after him towards the lake. Indeed the man seemed to have no plan and was rather still when the wolf began to attack. If a duck could roll its eyes, Steve would have done. Spreading his wings he was soon in the air and flying straight towards the side of the werewolf.
On impact the duck was rather dazed and flapped around a bit trying to fly straight once more. With its eye in once more Steve flew close again and took hold of the werewolf’s fur and gave it a sharp tug. As he flew back up out of the reach of the wolfs claws he spat out the mouthfuls of coarse hair. Steve knew he could not carry on doing that and soon the wolf will be back attacking the stupid professor gain. Quinn needed to know, she was the only one who could help, Steve doubted those girls would be any good.
Steve landed in front of the Ministry official and started quacking loudly trying to get her attention and then took off once more to dive bomb the wolf once more.

Quinn was not at all surprised that this man, this teacher thought he could handle a werewolf. He must have hit his head a bit harder then I thought. But when he came bounding up to them to tell them, order them to get to the castle, Quinn was impressed with his hard-headedness.
Not wanting to leave the girls again but desperately wanting to join in the fight, Quinn took out her wand and watching Dan go, said softly, "that man is going to get himself into trouble." She looked at the two girls, from the one to the other and ordered, "you two carry on to the castle. Don't let anyone stop you and don't look back." She shot a look at the blond haired girl, then said to the other, "don't stop for any reason."
She was about to turn to go help Dan when the duck they had met landed by her feet. It seemed excited and anxious for her to follow it. It took off again and Quinn did. She came nearer at a hurried pace and saw the wolf was encroaching on Dan. She put all her strength to the spell and shouted, "Stupefy!" A jet of light hit the wolf and it went flying away. Quinn ran to Dan and slapped him again, "where's your wand, fool?"

Dan remained still as the wolf and the duck fought it out, his mind was in another world, he did not know what was going on fully. The pain in his ribs had started again and he was convinced that if anyone was to move to quickly around him he would be sick. The nauseous feeling was not helped by the bright flash and the wolf stumbling to the ground pinning in pain, and then a sharp slap to the side of his face. It seemed to help a little as it allowed him to come to his senses slightly.
Dan turned to face Quinn was a scowl on his face, he actually raised his hand into the air ready to strike back when he realised that eh was dealing with a member of the ministry and a woman. Taking deep breaths to regain his cool, Dan looked to the ground and then over his shoulder towards the wolf who was still on the floor. It had been a powerful hit, poor Girty, she would feel it in the morning.
“Where is my wand?” Dan slowly turned to face Quinn doing everything in his power not to shout at her. “My wand is lying on the forest floor. You were so eager to save me that you left it lying in the undergrowth. Thus meaning, it is all your fault.”
Passing on the blame was one of Dan’s favourite past times, but there was nothing fun about this situation. His sister was in pain and dangerous, he was in pain and slightly out of it, there was a crazy duck and the added problem of a stubborn ministry official. Things had to get better.

Quinn looked to the fallen werewolf anxiously as she listened to the professor. Her head snapped to face him, hatred and rage burning in her eyes in the moonlight. She couldn't believe what was hearing, the insolence! The gall! The idiot!
"You mean to say that it's my fault you went gallivanting into the forest on a suicide mission to protect your precious werewolf?" she hissed. Thinking quickly, Quinn check over her shoulder to see where the girls were then over the other to look at the werewolf. It was still down, unconscious, but this was a clever creature, Quinn could not afford to underestimate it.
Quinn grabbed the professor's arm and pulled him to his feet. "We'd best go get it then, shouldn't we?" she asked, a little more harshly then she had intended but it served the purpose. "We must move quickly," she said, starting off back to the forest, "we haven't much time."

Once again Quinn started to order and drag Dan around. He would not stand for this, she was acting as if he was nothing more then a first year, unable to look after himself. If it had not been for her they would not have been in this mess in the first place, she was the one who had stopped Girty from heading to the castle. It was more then Dan could handle. Ripping his arm away from her grasp Dan let off a growl that would rival the werewolf’s.
“Get off me. You have no right to tell me what to do. You hold no authority in the school, and no power over me. you have the arrogance to believe you do, and the stubbornness to act upon it. You…you do not understand any of this, but you seem to have no heart so it does not surprise me.”
Dan turned his back and slowly walked towards the werewolf once more, he needed to make sure that Girty was alright. The beasts chest heaved up and down slowly, and the occasional snort or growl would sound out around it. The spell would not last long and Dan hated to admit it but Quinn was right. They needed to get moving and quickly but time was against them. Trying to hide the fear and emotions he was feeling Dan stood up and rubbed his eyes on his sleeve before heading straight back to Quinn. With a small cough to clear his throat Dan shot her a small smile and held out his wand.
“Can I have your wand Quinn?”

Quinn smirked at the professor. He was finally on his feet and determined. She was not sure if it was from the hit to the head that had stirred this new force in him but whatever it was, she approved. Realizing she was smiling, she quickly wiped it off her face and replaced it with a frown.
My wand? she thought, what could he do with my wand? She looked down at it, at the long slender willow that was light, hard-wearing and sturdy. Taking a deep breath and a large leap of faith, she handed it to him. "What are you going to do?" she asked softly.

Dan continued to stand silently in front of Quinn, hand outstretched waiting to receive her wand. He kept his eyes fixed upon her face and studied every change. He actually found it hard not to lose his composure as a small smile passed across her face. It was the first time he had seen her truly smile, and it did her beauty no harm. And then a soft voice appeared to match it, Dan could not believe it. Was this the same women who had slapped him and ordered him around only a few minutes ago? Then once again she proved him wrong, he thought he would have to wrestle her to the ground to take her wand, but she freely handed it over to him. This women was something special, however he doubted Girty would approve after what she had done to her.
Carefully Dan took hold of Quinn’s wand and wrapped his hand tightly around it. With a lopsided smile and a small nod to the head in appreciation Dan raised the wand into the air. With a small mumble a few sparks flew out of the wands tips and then silence feel over the grounds, only the sound of the wolf breathing rang about. Then rustling could be heard in the distant forest and soon something small and twig like flew towards them. Reaching out with his free hand Dan took hold of his won wand and smiled. He then glanced back down at Quinn’s wand and gave a small chuckle.
“There is no more need for this one then.”
Raising it in the air once more Dan raised his eyebrows at Quinn and made it to look like he was going to throw the wand into the lake. However Dan did not let go and let his arm flop down to his side once more. When he turned to look at the witch he could not help put laugh, the he held out her wand ready for her to snatch it off him. He hoped she would understand that he was only joking.

Quinn watched closely, eyes wide in surprise. Of course! she thought, angry with herself, as the professor's wand flew to him. I should have thought of that! She furrowed her brow, clenched her teeth. How could she let this neanderthal out think her?
She could feel her anger building inside of her. She clenched her fists to keep them from shaking. She kept her eyes on Dan, her face hard and ungiving. He teased her, she knew he was playing but she was not in the mood or frame of mind. "Give me my wand, Dan," she said harshly. He mock threw it and Quinn nearly jumped him. When he was facing her again, Quinn quickly grabbed his hand and pried the wand from his hand. How much like a two year old! she grumbled.

The smile soon vanished off Dan’s face as Quinn became serious once more. She was no fun at all, he was simply trying to lighten the mood after the tension that had been only a few minutes earlier. ‘Maybe it was because you outsmarted her, yes the arrogant witch could not stand to be beaten by someone she classes as lower then her.’ A smug smile filled Dan’s face, he was rather pleased with his own little conclusion, and decided that no more needed to be said on the matter. Shooting Quinn a small wing Dan turned his back on the ministry witch and headed back over towards the werewolf.
With a flick of the wrist and a flash the wolf began to float slowly in the air, with Dan at a safe distance. The wolf was slowly coming around and Dan knew that it would not take lightly to find itself floating in mid air. Following the wolf carefully he saw the wolf tugging even harder on the powers, it was getting stronger and the magic was getting weaker. However there was one thing that Dan was determined on, he was not going to let Quinn help him again. He would fight to make sure that he was not knocked off the high ground. Eh had his own pride to think about.
