Veata hissed at his threat, her slit pupils narrowing with anger. She didn't mind that Erys had put out the fire, because she had a much more painful ideal in mind for this little snitch. No one threatens me without paying the price, her mind screamed, but she licked her lips and picked her words carefully.
"You're lucky I didn't light you on fire, you ungrateful son of a... If I were you, I wouldn't be making threats, you're outnumbered, and apparently out skilled." She bore her teeth in a snarl as she spoke the two words through gritted teeth. "Stand. Down."
Her body was rigid with anger, and her fingers held her well-crafted wand in a death grip. A spell popped into mind, and she grinned to herself, parting her lips to speak one simple word, "Incarcerous", summoning ropes to bind the boy and prevent him from casting a spell of his own.

Erys watched as the boy was bound, raising an eyebrow in surprise at such primal methods of disarming him. "A simple Expelliarmus would have sufficed." She murmured to Veata, gesturing towards the two wands which should be rolling along the ground by now. "Whos wand did you steal?" The witch asked, sounding a tad suspicious as to why he possessed one more than the regular limit. Picking up the pair of wands, only if they had indeed dropped from his grasp, Erys twirled them between her fingers. She really should let him go; sure, she was up to this kind of fun, but she shouldn't get in trouble before officially enrolling. With a reluctant sigh, she handed the captured wands to Veata, pointing hers towards his bindings to mutter, "Relashio." The ropes loosened, releasing this Ivan Thatcher.
"Now that I was so kind as to let you go.." A smirk spread her full lips, "You owe me a favor. You will not tell anybody about what you have heard, got it?"

Ivan, as the ropes wrapped around his body, dropped both wands with an under-the-breath swearword.
"Okay, okay! I'm all stood downed." Then he tried to turn to the girl who had put out the fire, but before he could say a word she had taken his wands from the ground and was asking him questions.
"I didn't steal either of them! My wandmaker used a summoning charm attuned to me to get my wand, and two just came! It's not my fault." As he said this, the woman released him from his bonds with a spell and asked for a favor. Ivan raised an eyebrow.
"Thanks for that. Wait, I heard something? I didn't hear anything serious enough to report. I just woke up here. Y'know what? I didn't even see you here. Now, if you'll just return my wands so I can go back to my bed...?" He twitched uncomfortably, wanting to leave the vicious girl and her slightly nicer partner alone to do whatever the two Animagi were doing.

Veata watched with still narrowed eyes. Of course, disarming the boy had come to mind first, V was no idiot. But still, she had never duelled with someone who carried two wands, and she was unsure if Expelliarmus would rid him of both his wands. She didn't want to give him the chance to disarm her if he was able to keep one. The binding spell was ideal, better than the options a disarming spell gave. But she felt no need to explain her actions to the other two, she did as she had to.
V snatched the wands from Erys as disgust rolled down her spine at how pitiful the boy had become once his weapons were taken from him. Like a muggle hit behind the knees, he crumpled and begged. She knew she didn't trust him enough to just hand the wands back to him.
V reached out and grabbed Erys' arm with her slender fingers, digging her nails in as she pulled the girl towards her and whispered the plan in her ear, so the stupid, pathetic boy wouldn't hear.
"I'm going to set the wands on the ground a few yards away. You, just point your wand and him and say "tarantallegra'. Don't ask questions, just do as I say, then head back towards the castle."
She released Erys and walked a ways away, setting the wands on the grass, lifting her eyes up to meet them with Ivan's, curious to see how he would react once the plan unfolded.

Erys knew exactly how to perform the innocent jinx Veata requested, and it was such a clever punishment that she cracked a knowing smile. Nodding in responce, she pointed her wand at Ivan, muttering, "Tarantallegra!" Which would cause his legs to dance uncontrollably unless reflected, but it was highly doubtful because he was completely disarmed. It wouldn't kill him, but it'd bring about major chafe. He was too inexperianced to know that Finite Incantatem eliminated any spell cast, or maybe he wasn't. His main priority would be getting his wands back while dancing around rapidly. "Have fun." Erys cooed, turning and following after Veata.
"There." She murmured while licking her lips, satisfied with her wand's excellent performance. Rubbing her thumb against the grip, Erys then slipped it back into her pocket, looking up at her friend with a smirk. They were so destined for Slytherin.

"Oh crap!" Ivan yelled as the jinx hit him, and he began to dance. His note for the future from this trip: 'get better at dancing before some kind of school celebration. He used a mental trick he learned to cut his legs off from his head, so he could think without distraction. If only that little trick could stop the dancing itself.
Ivan's mouth screamed every curse it could think of, while his mind thought about how to reach his wands past his swinging legs. He didn't know the counter-curse, but somebody else might be able to help him. Hopefully it was a teacher, so he could... nevermind. If a teacher found him, he'd have points subtracted from his house as soon as he was sorted! And no student would be out here at this time of night. So, he returned control of his mouth to his mind, and quickly yelled back out at the two girls walking away.
"Hey! You two! I know you're jerks who are probably going to become dark witches and have fun killing people and all, but is there any chance you could let me have free control of my legs first? Please?" They were his only hope. He didn't really care if they used a torture curse on him, as long as he could move freely!

A pleased grin settled over V's face as his legs began to twitch to a silent beat. She stayed still, crouched over his wands, watching the show purely for the joy of knowing that her plan had unfolded so beautifully. It was only her first few days here and so far, she was dominant over the rest of the students she had met. Wonderful.
Thought, slowly, a realisation came to her. If they just left him there to dance, since obviously he didn't know the counter, once he was found, he would most likely tell the whole story. And the secret of their animagi forms would be released.
Regretfully, Veata lifted her own wand, pointing it's tip at Ivan, sighing before muttering "Finite Incantatum." This spell would eliminate all spells cast upon him previously, thus taking away the dancing jinx. The release of control, as she had seen in duels before, would probably cause him to fall, since he would not comprehend the need to tense his leg muscles that fast. Grabbing the wands and standing, V strode with her catlike grace, and held out her right hand to him, if he had fallen to the ground, to help him back up.
"I'm Veata Bane," she said, smiling coldly at him.

Erys clapped her hands together in delight, watching Ivan dance rather horribly. Typical, he couldn't get to his wands, or cast the Accio spell in his head to retrieve them. She figured that Veata would just leave him there, but then again, knew the trouble they would get into for it. Which wasn't a problem, really, she could get them both out of detention with a few tears and a convincing argument. Arching her eyebrow with surprise as her friend killed off the jinx, she flashed a questioning look. Mouthing the words 'You told me to', Erys crossed her arms over her chest, sure as hell not about to release her name to this boy. Letting V work the dominatrix routine, she rolled her eyes, finding this sudden uncharacteristic act of kindness a defeat of the purpose. The rat wouldn't squeal, he didn't dare. He knew he was up against two powerful, experianced witches, and that alone should hold his tongue.
The moon still hovered overhead, but a warm dawn approached. Sooner than later, the sky would fill with light, she was sure. Erys narrowed her eyes, tapping each fingernails against the skin of her arm. As in, hurry up and quit wasting your time on him. They could have just left already! She hadn't wished to be out for this long, her sleep was essential to her. "Leave him." She murmured icily, loud enough for Veata to hear.

'Now this is strange' Ivan thought as he fell, grabbing his wands and quickly pointing them back at the red-haired woman who just held her hand out to him. When she smiled and said her name, he carefully slipped both lengths of wood back into his mysteriously torn up robe. He took the hand and pulled himself up on it.
"Hey, thanks, Veata. As I said, I'm Ivan." He said, running a hand through his hair. "So you're an Animagus, are you? Don't worry. As long as you don't hurt anyone that doesn't deserve hurting, your secret's safe with me. Tell that to the girl who's yelling at you to leave me, too." For some reason, this felt like the right thing to say. Even though he had been singed, disarmed, and made to dance uncontrollably by these Slytherins-to-be, he thought nothing would get done by fighting with them throughout his first year. Might as well try a little bit to be friendly.

Veata watched him with unblinking eyes as he spoke, still uncertain whether she trusted him or not. Well, there wasn't much more she could do to convince him she was in control of the situation, and she was pretty sure he knew she'd tear him apart if he breathed a word of her secret to anyone. V seemed to have the effect of fear on a lot of people, if not by her strange looks, then her vicious attitude.
"Right well, let's get you back to the castle, then, so you can at least catch a few hours of sleep before your morning classes." She mumbled, grabbing his arm and hauling him to his feet. "Just hold on to me if you feel like you're going to fall, alright? Let's go."
She didn't ask for Erys' help with helping Ivan get used to controlling his legs again, and instead walked steadily past her, not bothering to even glance in her direction.

Erys felt her fists clench, as her supposed friend walked away helping the very one who would betray their secret in the end. Well, she sure as hell wasn't about to tell him her name. Why should she, or help him, for that matter? Veata was the one who told her to do it! Grinding her teeth together, she turned, decidedly taking another route back. Oh, so now she helps the guy who she tied up. Erys thought angrily, stalking back to Hogwarts with a slink in her step. If the redheaded girl was so addicted to doing the right thing, then maybe she didn't belong in Slytherin. Stopping right before the treeline broke before the large doors were in view, she morphed into her animal form, concentrating on the rearanging of bones, and muscles. Emerging on all fours, the bengal feline darted towards the door, left open by yours truly. Walking unnoticed in the shadows of the corridor's, Erys entered her temporary room and shut the door before changing back. Cursing out loud for not being sorted yet, she punched the wall, drawing back her hand to watch as a tiny dabble of blood bubbled up from her knuckles. Oh, well.
{ Right, so.. This is pretty much dead for me. }

While Veata passed the other girl, Ivan tried to talk to her, say something that might help the angry look on her face... but the ever-present tug on his arm made him continue back inside the main castle. He had no idea where she was leading him, but as his legs shuddered again from the sudden misuse, he really didn't care. She HAD said she was leading him back to sleep... but he had completely forgotten where that was. Weird.
Stumbling again on his wobbly legs, he spoke. "So, Veata... why'd you just leave that other girl behind? She's a fellow Ani- err... you-know-what, and your friend, right? Shouldn't you be with her, laughing about how funny it was that you pulled me out of bed, dropped me in the bushes, and started cursing and jinxing me when I woke up?

"I don't take orders from anyone," Veata said, tugging on his arm, signalling for him to keep up with her. "I wasn't just about to leave you there, I have some compass-"
V stopped dead in her tracks, her crimson eyebrows furrowing together as she slowly turned back to face him. Her face betrayed her extreme confusion. Taking one step backward, she looked back to the singed bush by the willow tree where everything had taken place.
"Uh, Ivan... We didn't take you out of your bed and put you there. You just showed up. You must have been sleepwalking or something. Why do you look like such a mess anyway? Are you trying to be cool by ripping up your robes that way? Because honestly, you just look like a hobo."
