She knew the effect she was having on him, she could see it in his eyes. Kell smiled at him and shifted her head a little to the side as she looked at him. "Whats the matter Russell?" she asked in a slow sweet voice. Her hands still on his hips. She saw him smile and no matter how she tried not to, she smiled back.
There was something about Rus that set him aside from other guys. He was just different, and Kellcie liked it. She knew he wasnt like the other sleeze's that were out there and knew he meant what he said, and knew he meant what he didnt say too. She had the nagging voice in her head telling her to just.. Go for it. But right now, she was underneath him, transfixed by the way he was looking at her.
She knew he liked her, she knew he knew she knew he did. Without thinking what she was doing, she slid out from underneath him, slipped her hands behind his neck, and pulled him to her, brushing his lips gently to hers. Feeling a little unlike herself, she drew away, not sure if that was the best thing she could have done, "I.. uh... Sorry" she said with a laugh and dived back into the water, making sure to splash Rus in the process. Coming back up she said to him, "Catch me if you caaan!"

The gaze Rus was getting from Kellcie made his heart skip a few beats. His mouth was dry, he couldn't think of anything to say. He just stared at her, unable to look away. Then she put her hands behind his head and Rus thought his heart might fail. The kiss was quick and Rus wanted to to last longer. He leaned forwards to try get it to do so but Kell had already dived into the water again.
I'm sorry he repeated in his head. I'm sorry. He certainly wasn't sorry, far from it. He laughed at her taunt and said, "you know I can!" He dove in after her and gave chase. He came up a few feet away from where Kellcie was bobbing up and down. They were far enough out now that they needed to paddle to stay afloat. Rus dove again and under the water grabbed her legs.
He would usually have spun her around, dunking her in the water again but something in his chest area told him not to. Instead he came to the surface again while running his hands along Kell's legs, her waist. He broke the surface and whispered, still holding onto her, "you're not getting away again." He leaned close to her, putting his hand on the small of her back, and kissed her.

Kellcie smiled from just a few feet away from Rus who seemed to have become immobilised for a short time. Where she was, the water was slightly deeper and she couldnt touch the bottom with her feet, though that didnt matter much, considering she was pretty good at keeping herself afloat.
Kellcie gave a small scream when he started to chase her, trying to swim faster and away from him, but he caught her by he legs as she stopped. She smiled again, this was turning out to be quite some day.
Kellcie shivered as she felt Rus's hands glide over her legs to her waist. She saw as he came up infront of her, telling her she wouldnt be getting away again. She smirked, a smirk worthy of a Slytherin, "I dont intend on trying" she spoke sofly as he kissed her. Kellcie's hands came to the bottom of his neck as she pulled him closer to her, while still trying to keep afloat.

In some respects, Russell was a typical guy. He always had problems with multitasking. So when it came to kissing the girl he had liked so completely for years and keeping himself afloat, he struggled. But he tried to keep that out of the kiss. He held Kellcie close to him, making sure that he poured all his passion into the kiss. He could have stayed there forever, could have held Kell close to his in this new embraces but he stopped kicking, stopped keeping himself afloat.
Instantly, he began to sink, with the help of his soaked cloths, and was wrenched away from Kellcie and the kiss. He let go of her and disappeared under the water. He gasped for air and his mouth was flooded with water. He quickly flapped his arms to his sides in one swoop and pushed himself to the surface. He was coughing and the water rushed out of his mouth. He wiped a hand over his face, to get ride of the water and hair that was in his eyes. And he smiled weakly at Kellcie. Way to ruin the moment, Rus! he berated himself.

Kellcie was trying to keep herself from going under the water, it was proving to be a difficult feat and she found herself wondering why they hadnt stuck to the shallows, knowing it would have been a whole lot easier to stay there. She felt Rus stop kicking and found herself slackening her arms, at which point he let go of her and ducked himself under the water. For a few moments Kellcie looked around, panicking wondering if he was alright, but before she could do anything about it he had already broken the surface and began splutering water out of his mouth.
Kellcie looked at him, wondering what had caused the sudden reaction. She didnt think too much on it, in case her mind came up with an answer she knew she wouldnt like, she smiled to him as she swam to the shore, dragging herself out of the water and sitting on the grass, drenched. She looked at Rus who was still in the water, she sighed as she moved her eyes pver to a different part of the lake. The thoughts of what to do now, came into her head, and the main one, would it be awkward?

Kellcie saw to shore and got out of the water. Rus floated for a moment, watching her. Nice one, he thought, why don't you just hex her ankles to her forehead? He had ruined the moment he had been longing for for as long as he could remember. He slowly began to make his way to the shore. But you did get what you wanted, and this thought cheered him up.
He walked out of the water, his baggy clothing hanging heavy on his body. He walked straight past his shoes and sat next to Kellcie with a sigh. "Love swimming," he said and lay down on the grass, staring at the sky. He only then thought about how this was going to affect their relationship. Would she want to take things farther? or was everything going to be awkward? He certainly didn't want anything to be awkward, so are we going to pretend that it never happened? Only time would tell.

Kellcie sat on the shoreline, and thought of the time she had first met Russell. Things were less complicated back then, all she cared for were her studies, she didnt have any time to be bothering with guys, let alone kissing them in the middle of the lake. Though, over time, she and Rus became good friends, and more often than not Kell realised she wouldnt be where she was, or who she was today without him. He had had a lot of influence over her, though she was hardly likely to tell him that.
He had gotten out of the water, drenched to the core and sopping, a lot like she was now. Both were dripping wet, and their hair clinging heavily to their heads due to excess water. She pushed a few strands back as he said something about loving swimming. She gave a weak sort of smile, and though she tried to pretend it wouldnt, she knew, their friendship was going to change, though whether it be for the better, or worse, she couldnt yet figure out.
Forcing herself to look upon the face she could once say was her best friend, or one of them at least, now she wasnt sure what they were, they had both overstepped the boundaries of friendship that was certain. "What now?" She asked rather quietly.

Kell was lost in though. Rus had, over the years, learned to identify that face along with many others. He could watch her study if she allowed him to, just simply sit across from her and watch the way her eyes flowed over the words she was reading, the slight pinch in her brow when she got confuses about something and the decreasing of it once she had worked it out. The small things made her the most beautiful person Rus had ever seen and he could look at her face for as long as he lived.
But that was the future, he was in the here and now and had to deal with what he had done. The kissing had gone past anything their friendship had ever been and it complicated matters. But why should they? Rus thought to himself as he stared dreamily at the back of Kellcie's head as he lay on the grass, what is so complicated about me ... He could hardly think the words.
He swallowed hard and sat up, draping an arm around Kellcie's shoulders. He pulled her close to him and kissed the top of her head. This was a normal Russell showing affection display but now there was something behind it. I've got to tell her, he though, as he smoothed her hair and hugged her, just got to. He dropped his arm and turned his body to face Kellcie, taking her hands in his. "Kell," he said slowly, concentrating on her hand for a moment before looking into her enchanting eyes, "I've got a confession to make."
This is it, he thought. He swallowed again and smiled his skew smile at Kellcie. This was going to change everything that they had ever shared and not shared. He was ready for it, he realised when the words came so easily to him. "Dearest Kellcie, I have loved you from the first moment we met. I have been your friend and said nothing of my love for fear of ... anything that might look like commitment. But I won't let fear rule my life any more, I can't. I can't let you get away without you knowing that you are more precious to me then... then... then I can say. I love you, Kellcie Amienaiz, and I always will."
He watched her closely now, waiting for the response. His heart was beating like a rock-slide and his mouth was dry. He had done it. After all those years he had finally come clean about the one big thing he had never told her. Russell didn't think what would happen when they graduated, which would be soon too, because that was in the future. If living with his brothers had taught him one thing it was that you had to live in the moment and live it to the full. He now knew why his brothers said so, the freedom and happiness he felt was exciting and almost overwhelming.

She knew Rus was lay behind her and had the feeling that he was just watching her. It reminded her of the times they used to sit there, and she could be doing something while he would watch her, sometimes she didnt much like it, other times it relaxed her. Now it was just strange.
She didnt know what would happen now, she didnt know if anything between them both would change. Kellcie knew it would, but she didnt understand why. Kissing Russell seemed to hae outstretched their friendship into a completly different level. Though she knew of his reputation and wasnt naieve enough not to know either. Some people didnt know about it, while others did. Kell did, he had told her often enough about his women magnetisms.
She looked next to her when she felt the arm draped around her neck and the kiss planted on her forehead. Though she knew this was just Rus being Rus and for all she knew, it didnt mean anything at all. She heard him say her name, and the way he said it made her think something else was up, she looked over at him as he told her he had a confession to make. Heres where he tells me we should just be friends and it will never work she thought to herself.
A few moments passed and neither of them said anything. Eventually, Russell began to speak, and what he had said shocked her. She hadnt expected anything like this she didnt know what to do or say or where to place herself. Her mouth resembled a small -o- and the shock was shown clearly on her features. Though she let him finish first.
"Russell" she began, trying to figure out words to form. She knew what she wanted to say, but what she wanted to say had no words and finding them was the hardest thing to do. "We've been friends for how long? Since we started here? Seven years... Its a long time" she told him, holding his hands and giving them a gentle squeeze. "I have more or less grown up with you, we've had our times, not all of them good but we've pulled through, and i will be honest. Up until last year i never looked at you in any other way than as a friend, but for some reason i started to see you in a different light. It was driving me mad not telling you but i didnt know how you felt and didnt want to seem like an idiot so i just kept it locked away and watched you play around with every other girl in the school" she sighed. Those times had really frustrated her, knowing he would happily kiss a girl he didnt know, than kiss her. "I have deep feelings for you... But i dont know whether i love you or not yet. I didnt know how you felt so i tried to stop myself from loving you... I didnt want to hurt myself if you get me?"
Kellcie decided to stop there. She had given him a run down and she did deeply care about him, and she did have feelings for him. Deeper than that of friendship. She kept hold of his hands, and silently wondered once more, Whats going to happen now.

Russell could see the shock on Kellcie's face but he couldn't tell if it was from repulsion or simple unexpectedness of what he had said. As she spoke, he listened with baited breath. Every word she said he clung onto like his life depended on it. And in some regrets, it did. This was the biggest and longest kept secret Rus had and he had kept it from his best friend, the one he loved. She squeezed his hands and he squeezed back. His heart was racing so fast with anticipation but skipped a few beats when she mentioned his flings. He swallowed down his heart that had jumped into his throat.
Deep feelings? Rus repeated to himself, deep feelings? His heart was racing once again with confusion, hot and rushed. He felt his checks burn. He felt like the complete idiot having confessed his inner most secret with nothing more to go on then deep feelings. But that was at least something, at least she cared for him and didn't slap him for what he said. Deep feelings implied some feelings that were more then the normal and Rus couldn’t be happier about that.
"I don't want to hurt you either," Rus admitted. He had never said anything of his feelings for her because of the likelihood of hurting her and of getting hurt himself. But he was not his main concern, he knew he could cope with it but he didn't want to make Kellcie have to deal with it. He squeezed her hands tightly now, smile his skew smile at her and relaxed. "I don't know what to say to you now," he admitted, "I … I’m going to work for the ministry when school is finished. I don’t know what you want to do or if we'll even see each other again. So I am going to give you the decision. Shall we go out and see what happens or do we leave it as it is?"

Kell didnt really know where this had come from, or why it had suddenly happened. Rus was her best friend and she had never anticipated getting feelings like this for him. Though she wasnt exactly sure what those feelings were, at least not just yet.
Kellcie didnt know how to put into words what she was feeling right now. Aside from the fact she deeply cared about Rus and she did like him. Feelings like confusion were starting to creep into the mix and Kell didnt know what she was doing.
"The ministry?" she questioned. Though she didnt really like the ministry, or approve of how they did things. It was his desicion. "Well at least you have career prospects" she laughed. Which right now was more than what she had. Kellcie didnt really like being under pressure and the question he had asked her made her feel pressurised to answer it. "I think..." she began, "I think maybe we should give it a shot... If we dont we will always wonder what would have happened if we had, if that makes sense"
