"Becoming an Animagus is extremely difficult, and the transformation can go horribly wrong. Animagi can assume only one animal form, and that form is not chosen by them. Rather, it reflects a witch or wizard's inner nature.

While in animal form, Animagi retain all sensory perception and cognition; however, their mental capabilities and feelings are lessened when transformed, becoming more like the animal. Thus, an animagus when transformed becomes the animal whose form is taken, but with the added advantage of retaining some human qualities. All Animagi are required to register themselves with the Ministry of Magic. Another wizard or witch can use his/her wand to force an Animagus to transform back to human form, producing a flash of blue-white light in the process" - Wikipedia Animagus

Under new Educational Decree Three-Hundred and Ninety-One, sub paragraph two, line thirty-nine, all students, faculty, half-breeds, employees and residents of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry found to be underage or illegally unregistered Animagi of any degree shall be immediately reprimanded. As of December Third, no underage witch or wizard shall be exempt from stripping of magical abilities in question and possible prosecution and/or expulsion.

The tutoring of Animagus abilities within educational institutions shall be limited to young witches and wizards of the age of seventeen or over - professors and mentors will face unavoidable punishment if found aiding adolescent criminality.

Failure to cooperate with any Ministry of Magic official whom deems it fit to investigate suspicious characters shall not be tolerated. Any resistance will be met with greater force. You have been warned.[/font][/size]

• All students must be referred to this class by Deputy Head Morley as Animagi is an extremely high discipline of Transfiguration.
  
• Typically, Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws would be best suited for this course as Animagus Tutoring requires a vast amount of intelligence and diligence.
  
• The animal your character transfigures into will be reached through thorough discussion between you and I.
