Zachary frowned suspiciously, holding his wand up to his face and eying it with a raised brow. When nothing seemed out of the ordinary, he turned to the faun, baffled.
"Merlin..." He started questioningly, shoving his wand back into his robes, though keeping it readily available if needed. He didn't particularly want to admit it, but the Faun did have knowledge that was centuries old, while he and Mozess weren't exactly up to par.
When the Faun revealed that he was the treasure himself, Zachary let out a snort. "You? The treasure..." He smirked, turning to Mozess. "This is probably another obstacle to get to what the map's leading us to--" He conveniently hadn't mentioned that the map was blank and utterly useless.
Though, he was cut off from his rambling when the faun requested their help once more, though this time explaining in depth what for. "The others?" Zachary narrowed his eyes, "What exactly do we get for helping you anyway?" He wasnt enjoying the fact that he had spent his entire night running around for treasure, only to find that it was more of a chore than a reward.
When Mozess sent him a skeptical glance, he turned to her with a worried expression. Then, gesturing distractedly to the ground he leaned over, trying to keep his voice low-- even though he was certain the Faun would hear anyway.
"It's not like we have much choice," he whispered, trying to move his feet. "And either way, if we don't help him, we'd have to go back through that corridor alone." He shuddered, looking at the twisted vines blocking the exit. "I'm not in the mood for anymore Erkling's, are you?"
Then, moving away again, he suddenly reached up a hand to wipe at his nose. "Ancient mark?" He scowled, looking at Mozess once more. "I haven't got anything on my face, have I?"

'I need you because it's impossible for me to leave this sanctuary. My life force and its have been so long intertwined that if one of us were to be hurt or perish, so the other one would also. Completly aside from the fact that it takes the power of five to complete the spell which releases my brethren from an inter-dimensional chasm which they locked themselves in...' he drifted off again, as if there were more to the story but there was too much pain in the memories for him to tell it.
He paced around the pair as more questions were posed to him, 'The others, there are five ancient branches of magic which still run strong through todays... homosapiens,' he said, giving the Slytherins an odd look, 'You two carry the gifts of Action-' he took hold of Zachary's forearm and a mark appeared--it looked something like a lower case "y", but it was written like calligraphy, and there was a diamond at the end of its tail--glowing like an aurora borealis '-and Emotion,' he let his hand wave over her heart and the same mark appeared, glowing through her robes. 'There are three more you must find who posses the gifts of Spirit, Thought, and Sight.'
Nodding at Zachary he said simply, 'What do you want?' he could tell the boy was about to say something ridiculous like Money, Status or Fame so he quickly corrected himself, 'Not what do you think you want; what do you truly desire?' his ears drew back flat to the sides of his head, then he opened his palm where five golden charms on chains lay. 'In addition to granting yours, and each of the other fives hearts true desires, you will also be given the ability to transform yourselves,' he held up a golden chain with a wolf hanging from it, 'It may come in handy; you never know.'
The faun smiled as the human children began faltering slightly in their complete bias against him. It always took a little time, but they always came around... eventually.

Mozess, although intensely intrigued by this point, was still a bit apprehensive; though as the Faun began talking about how the others like him were all in... outerspace, or something, somewhere, she couldn't help but feel a little sorry for him. And Zachary had a good point; with being as stuck as they were they didn't have much choice except to accept.
'Five... two of us, plus three more... but who?' she ran through lists of names and faces she knew in her head, but was shocked out of her thought when the Fauns hand brushed past her. She felt like an electric current had gone through her; like something powerful had made its way into her very veins. She looked at the Faun, "Emotion? You've got to be kidding me. I'm the least emotional person I know!" Though even as she said it something in her was telling her it wasn't true. Her eyes turned a pale purple as she turned her gaze to the floor. She hated it when she felt like someone had beaten her at something!
'Heh... he's like a genie in a palm tree,' she chuckled as the amusing thought entered her mind. Then she watched as he pulled out the charms... The only one she could make out from here was the wolf held in front of Zachary, "You mean... like Animagi? Why would we need that ability? Especially with that... MAfelda lady around trying to lock up anyone who steps the slightest bit out of line." What a day this was turning out to be...

Zachary narrowed his eyes as he was interrupted from his answer -- Galleons, obviously -- and crossed his arms in a huff. "I'll need time then," He said with a scowl, "To figure out what exactly it is that I want."
His eyes seemed to bug out of his head, however, when the faun held his forearm, expecting a slimy substance to be left in its wake.
But, instead he was left with only a mark that shone against his school shirt. Out of curiosity, he unbuttoned the cuffs and pulled the sleeve back, sucking in a sharp breath when he realised the mark was actually on his skin. "It-- It must be an illusion," he said decidedly, looking at Mozess whose chest was adorned with a similar, yet completely different, mark.
As the faun continued, he couldn't help let out the snort as Mozess put in that she wasn't quite an emotional girl. He was about to agree, but seemed to see a look of submitting fury in her eyes, before raising a brow. Mood rings he thought to himself, remembering the words she had used to describe her eyes herself.
Presenting the wolf chain, however, made something akin to excitement spur in his stomach. "I am really quite adventurous, aren't I..." he said arrogantly, eyes following the chain. The glazed look in them cleared when Mozess mentioned Mafelda, and he nodded. "I am not risking my neck to save yours, faun." He said shortly, crossing his arm and looking away.
Though, he already felt himself succumbing to the strange creature.

The faun looked between the children and nodded, "Number one, the mark would not be there if it were not true. It is not an illusion nor is it a tattoo. It is an ancient mark which can be revealed only by someone else with ancient powers who knows how to use them." He gave them each pointed looks, "Although the gifts of the Ancients lie within you, you must not attempt to use them without proper guidance," the severity of his voice when he said this was quite a contrast after the calm, cajoling tone he had been using, and to which his voice reverted back to almost immedeatly. "Number two, I don't expect you to be able to decide right now what your heart truly wants. Finding out something like this is sure to change your view on things..." he looked at Zach, "Well, then again..." he shrugged. "Finally, number three; animagi?! You think I would offer you the ability to do something so, so... modernized?! Anyone can become and Animagus. I know! I look in on you pitiful little people when I get bored up here. It's entirely ridiculous how many of you are Animagi and I, for one, applaud that Miss Hundar for her efforts in managing the population of those... wanna-be's!" as he ranted his voice grew louder and more goat-like, ending with one long bleat before calming himself down. "What I offer you with these charms is not the ability to become animagi. No. With these, and my blessing, you become Mil'Raeyth. An ancient spell that allows you to become whatever creature chooses you at any point in time, even letting just part of your body transform. Though as time goes on you may develop... characteristic of the animal. A good example is a snake. A Mil'Raeyth snake might start swallowing their dinner whole, or bite people when they're surprised. A fish might start spending large amounts of time in the lake, or drink lots of salt water. It varies individually, but it can be controlled once you realize what the effects are." He looked at the children, "Any of those Ministry stiffs who would bother you with cascades of questions and inqueries about how you became an animagus woudl run dry sooner than later. Mil'Raeyth and Animagi, though similar, are not the same and it can be proven simply in any of their tests. Of course... they don't exactly know about Mil'Raeyth, but they would notice that you are not and have never been an Animagi which should suffice for them to leave you be. Are there anymore ridiculous questions you two have for me before I give you your first mission?" he queried, beginning to get impatient.

Mozess was beginning not to like this so much. Her being some ancient emotional envoy for some stupid mission while Zach was over there gloating about how he's some adventure seeking fuzzball... She crossed her arms and huffed. As much as she was disliking this turn of events, she was still desperate for something unordinary to happen in this school. She looked down at her mark and grimaced, "Whatever..." yes, she was now throwing a cynical hissy fit. Could you really expect anything else from her?
'I know exactly what I want right now...' she thought spitefully. It was truly irksome whenever someone got the better of her, or at least when she felt like they did. At this very moment she wanted to just smack the stupid faun... but that would most definatly end badly for her, and she wasn't willing to risk that quite yet. Especially with a new piece of information, "Mil'Raeyth?" she asked curiously. "So, like, wolfy-boy here might start howling when he's lonely or grow really sharp teeth or something?" she asked with a smirk. It was a good thing that they'd pass any of the ministry's tests without a problem... but she was still a bit hesitant after being labelled emotional.
"Two questions actually. First is; what exactly is our 'first mission'? It already sounds pretty fishy to me," she put her hands on her hips and gave an unbelieving look to the man-goat. She crossed her arms again, though, as she posed her second question, "And what... well... which creature picked me?" she tried to catch a look at the other charms in the Faun's hand but she still couldn't make any of them out with much clarity.

Zachary was still gazing curiously at the mark on his arm, his eyes growing a bit confused with the onslaught of information. The Ministry didn't apparently know about Mil'Raeyth, and that made him only increasingly suspicious. Mozess, however, seemed taken with the information - her inner Ravenclaw (that he had figured she carried since earlier that evening), positively glowing.
She stepped bravely toward him, engaging in a conversation that he found his own curiosity responding to. "Fangs?" He enquired in the middle of their ranting, running his tongue over blunt teeth. He thought of the many detentions he would be plagued with, had he started howling in the middle of the night and grimaced.
Missions weren't exactly his thing, so he stood idly, mouth slowly forming into a scowl. He wasn't quite into saving random half-man half-four-legged-creatures after his run in with the centaurs... but he had a feeling the Faun would see no similarity between them and himself so wisely kept quiet.
"I have one too," he cut into their staring contest. "I suppose you're the one who will be guiding us, and teaching us, so how exactly are we supposed to find our way back here with Erklings and such pining for our blood?" He noticed Mozess peering at the chains with ill-hidden wonderment and smirked.
"Something with spikes, no doubt."

The faun grinned at the girls reaction, 'You are only further proving yourself as what I say you are.' HE knew she would not like hearing this, but it needed to be said. 'Have you really not realized what you are yet?' the large black eyes glowed as he stared intently at Mozess, 'My dear, you are an Empath.' He let this new revelation sink in before addressing the next topic.
'I suppose those might be side effects; he could also become very in tune with the phases of the moon which would help with your mortal magic classes...' he rolled his eyes passively. 'But,' he now turned and addressed the boy himself, 'once you are aware of what the effects are, I can teach you how to control them, and use their power for many, truly great things of which your dreams have only dreamt of.'
'Very good questions, children,' he with approval. 'Your first mission will be to seek out the three other Mil'Raeyth in the school. You will be able to see their marks. Likewise, now that you yourselves bear the Ancient Mark, the creatures who guard my sanctuary will no longer bother you; they will, in fact, obey your word as they would mine. You will have no more trouble coming back and forth through here.'
He snickered at Zachary's ill-meant joke, and at the girls obvious angry flare towards him for it. 'Not quite spikes...' he held up another golden chain, from which hung a tiny, winged charm. He could tell the girl was a bit put off as she looked at it; the orange coloring around the edges of her eyes gave it away. It also betrayed that she could still not fully see what the little creature was, 'A bat, my dear.'
