'Bah... thinks he can just win me over... stupid treasure hunt...' mumbled mozess irritably as she stormed into the common room, ripping up a piece of paper as she went. It had been from her brother, said something about a "swag stash" where he and his mates use to keep all their contraban hidden from professors and fellow students.
She threw the letter-confetti into a trash can and crashed onto a green velvet couch, hand on her forehead for a very mellow dramatic effect. She groaned, what was it with ehr brother. Actually thinking that they could still get along now that he was married to that witch... and a witch of a witch she was at that. Mozess had been thinking about trying to stay at Hogwarts through the summer just to avoid the woman.
She sighed, though at the back of her mind she was beginning to wonder jsut what kind opf stuff her brother had been able to swipr in his days here... 'No!' she scolded herself, 'Don't buy into it Mo... though he'd never have to find out about it... no. No, don't do it!'

Lauretta walked into the common room quietly. She heard someone else in there. She sat down in a dark green velvet chair and smiled. "Hello" she said to the Slytherin girl who was sitting on the couch.

She heard quiet footsteps enter as a soft -whoosh- heralded the entrance of another Slytherin. She heard the ever familiar groan of the old green armchair and looked up to see a blonde haired, blue eyed, veela-esque girl greeting her kindly. She couldn't help but feel a bit frumpy next to her, so with an obviously strained smile she replied, "Hi."

L.C noticed that the girl looked somewhat frustrated. So, she gave her an odd look. "Are you okay?" she asked, a little reluctantly.

She rolled her eyes and shrugged, 'I've had better days, but then again who hasn't?' she sighed, eyes tilting towards the trash bin, then jerking up to the ceiling again. 'You have siblings?' she asked, trying to make small talk, and also trying to decide what to do about her brother.

"No" L.C replied to the girls question. It was true that she was an only child. She had very annoying cousins though.

She sighed again, 'Be thankful. They're a pain in the arse!' she shook her head. Why did her brother have to be such a... a jerk! Why had he had to go and get married and leave her all alone?! And of all people to get married to, why did he have to marry Yelena?
An angry glare covered her face at the thoguht of her family, and her relative family. Yelena may be her sister-in-law, but she was not a sister, nor was she a friend. She was just a pretty face that snockered her brother into marrying her because it was convinient...

Lauretta looked at the girl whose face was in a glare. "Sounds like it" she said before leaning back in the chair.

She nodded slowly, 'My brother married this... witch, and he sent me a letter trying to apologize for how she treats me by telling me where his old stash of trinkets is... I'm still trying to decide whether I want to find it or not...'

"Sounds awfully nice of him" Lauretta said sarcastically. She felt kind of bad for the girl. "So how does this woman treat you?" L.C wondered aloud.

Mozess made a face, 'It's... difficult to explain. It's like... I don't know, she tries to be my mother, and when I don't pretend to be a perfect daughter for her she throws a hissy fit...' she shrugged. 'It's stupid really...'

"Just tell her she isn't your mother" L.C said trying to help the girl out. "If she gets mad and you brother doesn't stand up for you then, he is an arse" she said as if the matter was plain and simple.

She smiled slightly, 'I may have to try that sometime. It's a little more complicated than that though,' a saddened smile graced her features. 'He only married her 'cause he thought I needed a motherly figure... it was as convinient a marriage for him as it was for her...' she shrugged, 'He's always looked out for me like that.'
'What are you doing Mozess?!' she screamed at herself mentally. 'He's just another person that's let you down, and don't forget how much of a jerk that chick is!' but no matter how hard she tried to steel herself against it, she was slowly, unwillingly forgiving her brother.

"I think once a girl is fourteen, she doesn't need a motherly figure" Lauretta said. It was her belief anyway. After all, her mom had died when she was little. And, it wasn't like she was weird or anything.

She laughed, 'I know that. It's my brother who thinks that I'm some sort of messed up, poorly-adjusted member of society...' she trailed off slightly thinking back to past semesters, 'You know, the suspensions, detentions, and bad guardian/teacher conferences certainly didn't help disprove that theory,' she chuckled. Those had been some fun times, despite getting caught and all.
She looked over to the trash can and sighed, 'I can't believe I'm saying this but... maybe his stash of stuff might have something worth my while in it?' a stubborn girl's way of forgiving her wayward brother; taking his stuff and never telling him about it.
