The International Confederation of Wizards, a governing body overseeing the various individual nations' councils and ministries, met for weeks on end toward the end of the 1600s. Persecution of wizards was growing more and more fierce and
Ange just could keep her head up anymore. It slammed down on the book giving her a push back awake.
and...and something had to...had to...
Angela checked her watch. Seventeen minutes past eleven. Normally the time would have still been relatively early, but the fact the the Ravenclaw forth year had been up past one every night already that week didn't help. History of Magic was not the thing to study when your eyelids feel like a thousand pounds. Therefore Ange decided to switch to something a little more invigorating, charms.
Angela took out her overly large Runes book and placed it on the table at which she was sitting. She picked of her wand and flicked it at the book.
"Engorgio." she said loud and clear. The book swelled to the size of a large pillow. A pillow. Angela thought. How lovely. She snapped back to reality at the creak of the table under the weight of the large book.
"Reducio." Ange said in the same loud steady voice. The book shrank back to normal size. Angela yawned. ok. One more tiem and she'd wrap up for the night.
"Engorgio." She said again, this time tired and without much feeling. Apparently the lack of feeling had caused the spell to over do itself. The book grew to the size of a chair and then to the size of the table. The wood groaned underneath the weight. Angela didn't know what to do. The table creaked and snapped in two. Ange had just manage to throw herself away from the shattering table.
So much for a quiet night of homework.

As the table split into two, Mildred ran down to see what the noise was. She saw A 4th year sitting on a chair and looking at the table that split in two. Mildred walked closer and closer to the girl and asked "are you okay, what happen?" Then Mildred saw the wand in the girls hand and said "were you playing with magic?" Then she asked "What is you name?"

Angela jumped up from off the ground, thankful someone had noticed she was in a bit of trouble. However, Angela wasn't to pleased with the fact that the girl who had come over to her thought that she was young enough to "play" with magic. That was just plain dumb, and slightly insulting. Angela had been very controlled in her magic, it had just become uncontrolled very fast.
"No, I was not playing! I was practicing for Charms lesson." Angela said in a huff. "Angela, forth year." She said to the girl, whom obvious she had not noticed before. Perhaps she was one of those people who enjoyed doing their homework in the noisy library. Angela on the other hand greatly enjoyed the warmth and comfort of her own common room for such tasks. Either way, Angela did not know her name and she inquired after it. "You're an older year by the looks of it, but I don't know your name." Angela asked, well said, hands on her hips, looking at the destruction she caused.
Angela sighed. She took up her wand which had come flying out of her hand as she dove, and flicked it at the enormous book. "Reducio." She said. The book slowly shrank back to normal size. Angela stepped over the pieces of the broken and table and retrieved it, holding it to her. She then walked back to the girl and looked at the table and groaned. "You don't think the professor will take points away from me for ruining a good table, will he?"

Alexis had been in her room studying, she had left the door of her dorm room slightly ajar simply because the room was a little hot and there was a nice breeze coming from the hall. Her dorm mates were scattered about so she had the room to herself. Turning the page of her potions book she had begun reading about sleeping droughts when she heard what sounded to her like a crash.
Wondering if she really wanted to see what made the noise, she stayed still for a minute and then curiosity got the better of her so she got up and slowly made her way toward the common room. What she saw was almost comical, a wooden table seemed to have been broken in half a feat which could definitely not have been done by hand. It seemed as if magic had been involved in some fashion. Coming in at the end of the conversation she heard one girl asking if she was going to have points taken from her, she apparently was the culprit here.
Alexis, walked into the room making her presence known, 'What in the world happened?'

As Jonathan approached the entrance to the Ravenclaw common room, intent upon finding the house elf who had removed the much needed carnivorous mold from his classroom that morning before it's intended lesson, a great splintering crash erupted from behind the tapestry the door was concealed behind. Frowning suspiciously, Jonathan picked up his pace, nodding appreciatively to the wise old monk who posed, worn and thread bare, under a tree that needed many stitches.
As he swept inside, he was not surprised to see three Ravenclaw girls stood around the common room's oldest and largest table, each of them freezing on the spot to look at him as they realised they were there. Narrowing his eyes, Jonathan sighed heavily and glared at them each individually before whipping out his wand and waving it at the table, the remains instantly leaping back together, the shards squelching oddly as they magically sealed together.
Jonathan paced toward them, one eyebrow irritably raised. 'Need I remind you that duels are not -' He pointed his wand accusingly at the one he knew to be called Angela, for she seemed the guiltiest of the lot as she was holding a wand. '- allowed in my common room. If this wretched House wasn't doing so shamefully bad this year I'd probably take points - now what's going on?' He snapped. In truth Jonathan was not really interested in what the girls were destroying - he was just annoyed that he still had not found the house elf he wished to strangle...

Angela had hoped that the crashed hadn't caused a commotion. Apparently, seeing as it had brought a girl down from the dorms, it had. "Charms practice." Angela said, blowing her bangs out of her face, hands placed on her hips. This was a real mess. She was going to be expelled.
Oh, great. A professor. Angela's heart sank to her heels as she watched her head of house step through the doorway. She was going to get it now. She was going to be expelled, wand blown up into tiny little pieces. Her life was over.
Ange opened her mouth to say something, but it just stood gapping as Professor Starsmore caused the table to come back together perfectly. She didn't know which she wanted to hug more, the Professor who saved her life, or the table which was now like an old friend brought back to life.
"No..Professor...I didn't." Ange looked at each of the girls, neither of them had their wands out. It looked as if Angela had attacked them, and hit the table instead. It didnt look good. But, honestly, dueling? How could he think such a thing? Certainly Angela knew better than to duel any where on grounds, and she didn't really have any enemies at that. And so, her defense started. "Professor I swear, this was all a Charms practice session going horribly, horribly wrong."

Alexis fully took in the site, the poor broken table, splinters littering the floor, as she stood waiting for the answer to her question which she received rather quickly. She was about to offer her help when a professor walked in.
Next thing Alexis knew she and the other two girls were being accused of dueling in the common room. That was the most ridiculous thing she had ever heard, why would they be silly enough to start a duel in the common room, they would have to be pretty thickheaded to do such a thing. Looking at the teacher she wondered if she should point that out to him, but while looking at his face she decided that she would have to word it a bit differently. He did not seem to like the type to trifle with.
After hearing the girl inform him of what happened Alexis chimed in, 'I was just in my room reading when I heard the noise. I just came down to look sir, and believe me no one would start a duel here in the common room,' she added since the whole situation was seemingly and accident. She just hoped that they weren't about to have points taken from then because that was the last thing Ravenclaw needed.
