Loren burst into common room, her face flushed, her hair a tangled mess and her brow knitted with worry. 'Stupid self inking quills! That bloody librarian will kill me!' she shouted angrilyas she rushed over to the fireplace, dropping to her knees along with the monsterously thick vollume in her arms.
Tugging and tearing the pages from the spine, Loren began shoving them into the roaring fire, her panic only increasing when the flames did not devour the soiled parchment as fast as she was pushing it in. The pages had once been creamy and clean, but upon Loren's quill becoming fed up with the amount of writing she had been doing, it had decided to go walk-about all over the book Loren was copying from.
Deep blue ink coated the Ravenclaw's hands and the front of her robes, and in her nervousness she accidentally smeared the liquid all over her nose. The sounds of feet descending from one of the staircases caused Loren to freeze on the spot. I'm going to be caught! she thought, dread filling her stomach.

Andie walked down the stair lost deep in thought. Russell was back. She was happy to see him, and yet she was scared. What if he wanted nothing to do with her? Not paying attention to wear she was going, she stumbled on the last step and threw out her arms to balance herself. "Oh hey Loren!" she greeted the other girl with an embarrased chuckle. "Whatcha got there?" she aksed peering over Loren's shoulder, then seeing the page, immediately figured out the problem. "Ah... self-inking quills got a little impatient with you, huh?" Andie smiled sympathetically as she knelt down beside Loren. "Need some help destroying the evidence?" she asked.

Loren let out a huge sigh of relief as she realised it was only Andie, and wiped the back of her hand across her forehead - resulting in yet more ink on her face - to try and cool herself down.
'Yes please, Andie,' she said, picking up a wad of paper and offering it no Andie to do what she will. 'You know what the woman in the library is like - I'll never be allowed in there again if she finds out I wrecked her things. And she's only gone and bloody well charmed everything so it can't be magicked away!' she added indignantly.
The fire spat at Loren as if to say she should not be doing what she was doing. 'Just accept it,' she snapped back, putting more paper in its mouth. 'You've almost gone out anyway...'

Adriana stepped into the common room, biting her lip as she looked around the room. She had been trying to study in the library only she hadn't quite made it there. It had only been a few minutes of walking until she realised that she had left her book bag up in her room. This normally wouldn't have been a problem, however she very much needed her books in order to study, fancy that.
She was so set on just going up to her room, that she almost failed to notice the action around the fireplace. The girl with the dark hair seemed to be talking to the fire which Adriana thought a little strange. She slowed her pace and eventually stopped once she was behind the pair. She didn't really want to interrupt them for it wasn't her place, however she wanted to know what they were up to. It was then she saw the blue stains all over the dark-haired girls robes, hands and nose.
"Oh," she said quietly. She still wasn't quite sure what had happened, but for whatever reason the blue stains made the actions of the two girls seem much more... legal, a little bit anyway.

Loren looked over her shoulder briefly, stopping still as she saw a girl standing behind herself and Andie, looking rather sheepishly at their guilty act. Loren looked around herself with wide eyes as if to say, Is there a problem? and cleared her throat awkwardly.
'Oh!' Loren jumped as the pages in her hands suddenly ruffled themselves energetically, and she dropped them, watching as they sprung about on the grate, rearranging themselves so swiftly they were a blur in front of the three girl's eyes. After a moment or so of folding and scrunching, the pieces of parchment rose, forming an aged looking face. 'What in Merlin's -'
'Do you mind?' It suddenly asked in a very deep and very slow voice, reminding Loren of a very old warlock who frequented the Hog's Head. 'Not only do you ruin me, you attempt to turn me to ashes? I am an old book! What is the meaning of this?' The face's eyes - two screwed up title pages - suddenly swiveled to look at Andie and Adriana. 'Accomplices?!'

When Loren gave her the look, Adriana opened her mouth to say something. She couldn't think of anything however, but was saved by a rather frightening scene. The book was talking! Not only was it talking, but it was blaming her for what was happening to it. "N-no, no, sir," she stuttered. "I would... I didn't... It wasn't me. I-I don't know what's going on." Adriana was becoming quite flustered. Her brow furrowed with the stress the situation was causing her. She looked at the two other girls not knowing what to do exactly.

As Mildred walked along the hall she heard talking coming from the corridor's fire place. She wondered who it could be. As she took a couple more steps toward the girls she saw the book. Then She thought to herself is that thing talking she stood there looking at the girls that were there and said Is that thing talking to you? Then she looked right back at the book surprised.
