When Bog pulled away from the kiss, Grace could tell he had seen something, some trace of the doubt and insecurity Grace felt. She could see it in his eyes. She looked away from him, shamed, and bit her lip at his question. She didn't know how to respond. She stared at the fire, thoughtfully, and pondered the matter. How was she to tell him she wasn't sure about them being together forever?
Having found no answer that pleased her and wanting to avoid an argument, she turned her head to look at him, trying to keep the sadness out of her eyes. "What do you think our professions are?" she asked, "in this dream of yours? Do you know?" She didn't know how else to take the conversation in that direction.
