David sat down exausted at one of the library tables. "I wonder if there's anything decent to read" He wondered out loud to himself. The whole place smelled musty and old yet magical like any second a book would open and swallow you whole, he chuckled, the image of a student being eaten by a book flashed though his head. Picking up a rather large book he opened it and half heartedly began to read.

Russell was once again looking over his list and was strolling around the Library. He rounded a shelf, to say this was the third time he had circled that particular shelf. He was exhausted. He put is list away and found a seat.
Throwing his long frame into the seat, Russell spotted a Gryffindor reading a particularly nasty-looking book. "Is that what passes for light reading these day?" Russell asked conversationally. "It doesn't seem very welcoming to be honest. Looks like it'd rather chew you up rather then have you turn a page."

David looked up and laughed. "I was just thinking the same thing. It would be an interesting sigt to see someone get eaten by one of these old honkers" He laughed and patted the book on its page. It sputtered dust at him causing him to caugh. Then a peice of paper fluttered from it's pages landing at the feet of the boy he was talking to.

Russell began to laugh with gusto as the young Gryffindor began to cough. Rus jumped up and roughly patted him on the back, still laughing. Then he noticed the piece of parchment that drifted slowly to the floor.
Russell stopped patting the boy on the back and watched the parchment float to the floor. "Hmm," he said curiously, "what's this?" He bent down and picked it up. It was incredibly dirty and dusty. Russell turned away from the Gryffindor and blew on it. He showed it the boy and asked, "yours?"

David coughed a little more then stopped. "Hmmm... Not mine" he said smiling "it must have come out of the book. Prehaps something it swallowed in its earlier years." He laughed although it was hard for him to imagine the book being younger. "What does it say? Is it anything interesting?" He was curious and hoped he had unearthed a mystery. Besides who knew what could happen at Hogwarts.

Propped up by several thick books, Magical Medical Plants and Their Uses by Gremilda Scrupp was carefully being peered at by the bothersome Gryffindor known as Hariku. Only called bothersome by her own mouth, Hariku was carefully researching a paper for her Advanced Herbology Class. It was nasty work, she had decided the minute she had picked up the book. The sheer size of it was astounding in her mind.
With a tired sigh and a flick of her delicate wrist, she dropped her quill and left a splotch of ink on her paper. She paid it no mind as she looked up at the Ravenclaw and fellow Gryffindor in the corner.

Russell frowned and looked from the Gryffindor to the piece of parchment in his hand. It was old, very old, so old it had turned so yellow it could have been confused with a Hufflepuff. Rus turned the parchment around and around, noted that the writing was incredibly slanted and almost illegible.
He began to read the note allowed when he noticed that the top left hand corner had been torn off. "Well from where I can read, it says this: ... It was an honour to receive you invitation and with this letter I hereby sure you, My Lord, that I shall be present at the ... Now I can't read what it says. He zoomed over the blurred lines till he found some legible writing.
"Then it carries on to say ... I shall be my honour and privilege to serve under you, My Lord, and kill for you. My our meeting be fortuitous and profitable to their downfall and utter destruction. Your humble ser- It's smudged again. I imagine it says servant but I can't make out the name."
Russell gave the letter to the Gryffindor, a far away look on his face. "What do you think it means?" he asked absently.

He looked over at the older ravenclaw. "It surely isn't boring that much I can tell. It seems to be some sort of letter to a higher up in crime or murder." He knitted his eyebrows and thought for a second. "Should we keep this note to oursleves or should we tell a teacher?"

Russell rubbed his hand over the slight stubble that was beginning to grow on his chin thoughtfully. "Hmm," he murmured, "I think that telling someone could tell us more but then again they might tell us something we don't want to hear. Or worse take it away from us. I think for now lets just keep this between you and me."

"True, if we tell the wrong person it could be taken away from us." David thought about all the smart people he knew unfortunatly only one of them was at Hogwarts. "We could show my sister she might know what to do.. Maybe not but it is worth a try."

Russell was concentrating so hard on the letter that he thought that he might have heard the boy incorrectly. Russell shook his head and frowned at the Gryffindor, "your sister?" he enquired. It seemed strange that any self respecting male would seek the help of his sister!

"Yes, my sister she's a 6 year hufflepuff." David was curious why the Ravenclaw was so startled. He had always been good friends with his sister and had always asked her opinion and gone to her for advice. "What do you not like girls?" He said wondering if this was the reason.

Russell heartily clapped the young man on the back and laughed. "Ah, young Gryffindor," he said playfully, "it's not that I don't like girls, they seem to be attracted to me. Why just the other day I was in her, minding my own business, of course, when suddenly I was surrounded by three gorgeous girls. Well, naturally I like girls mate, it's just that I don't trust them to know very much when it counts."

David rolled his eyes slightly knowing that the ravenclaw was someone who girls would like. "Well, she is different as far as girls go." At the moment he felt a bit embarressed with admitting that he told her everything that was on his mind. "She might know a spell or a potion that could help us read this." He hoped he was right.

Russell folded his arms and looked curiously at the boy. He tried to think of how it would be for his sister to be so smart. Seeing as she was only six, it was hard for the Ravenclaw to imagine. In any case Russell trusted what the Gryffindor thought and nodded.
"Well then," he said, picking up the letter and stowing it into his pocket, "let's be off to find this sister of yours? Where will we find her at this time of the afternoon an a Saturday? She isn't going to just walk in to join us, is she? No," he said, looking at the entrance to the library, "that would be too easy."
