Maybe you're right. Well I guess you cant make friends if you dont meet people right. I'm Sarie nice to meet you." She sat down on the boy's other side. She looked at him trying to figure out what happened. "Was he jinxed or something?"

As Maxi walked he listened to the girl talk. He also tried to listen to Ashton's breathing. "Uh, Hey. Im Maxi, the guy in my arms? Is Ashton" Maxi shook his blonde head, "No, i dont think he was jinxed, i just think he's ill" Though i hope its not serious he thought to himself.

Maxi looked at the Gryffindor girl, his mouth held open in a small -o- shape. She had seen him? "Oh, well... Yes. Yes i was earlier on. Though i was making my way up to the owlery to post it when i saw Ashton lying there. The letter can wait. Ash is more important to me than a letter" he spoke sofly, the care for the boy in his arms showing clear in his voice.

"To be a frist year does every thing you say sound stupid?" she asked. She looked at Ashton again. He looked really pale to her.

"Yeah we're close" He told her, Closer than anything he thought to himself with a smile. He looked back at the girl, "Wha'chu talking about? I am your friend! After what you've done here for him, your an automatic friend" he gave her a smile as he tried to hurry his pace towards the hospital wing.

"Nothing you have said sounds stupid, Sarie" He told her he could feel the heat radiating off Ashton onto his arms, "Merlin, he's burning up even more.. We've got to hurry" Maxi had panic in his voice, "Dont you dare Ash, Dont you dare give out on me"

Sarie pulled out a hankerchif and her wand. She wet the cloth with her wand. "Here this might help." She handed it to him. "Just till we get him there."

"Place it on his head" He doubted it would cool his body heat, but his head might feel better for it. Please Ash, hang on we're nearly there he glanced up as he almost ran through the doors that lead to the corridor where the hospital wing was on. They were literally, a few steps away now.

Ashton could vaguely hear the voices, but for some reason was unable to respond. It was like his body had stopped cooperating with him. He was now being assaulted with memories. Memories of his father beating him. They seemed so real that even now, in the safety of Maxi's arms, he could still feel the pain. The sting of the metal-studded belt as his father brought it down again and again on his arms and back. The sharp intense agony as his father mercilessly threw him to the floor and viciously kicked him in the stomach and sides. Over and over again. Ashton whimpered in pain. "No- please, stop..." he murmured, his breath was now coming in wild, ragged, shallow gasps. The pain intensified until it was nearly unbearable. "Please! Stop!" he cried, tears streaming down his face, as he struggled to pull himself from his nightmare. Suddenly he was hit by a wave of pain like no other, and he began screaming and sobbing. "Stop! Please, stop! No! Please! Don't do this to me!" he cried, struggling in Maxi's arms.

"Ash... Its not real. Its just a dream." She put the cloth on his fore head. She looked at him. "What ever it is it's not real you're save here with friends. Its alright." Sarie had no idea what she was doing but she hoped it helped.

Maxi stopped running when Ash began to cry out, "What the... Ash calm.. Argh" he found it difficult to hold Ashton while he was struggling, so slowly she kneeled on the floor, hugging Ashton close to him, holding a struggling person was difficult but Maxi was going to keep him close to him, keep him safe, he whispered into his ear, "Ashton.. Its me, Maxi. Im here, nothing's going to get you, or hurt you while im here. You're safe, listen to me, stop struggling. I cant keep hold while you struggle" he was smoothing Ashtons hair with his hands trying to calm him down.

Sarie was worried. "Whats he so afrid of? I never seen someone act like that before." She wished she could do more. But she was just a useless frist year.
