Sarie was feeling home sick. She had never been away from before. Sarie couldnt sleep so she thougt going for walk might help. She looked around she was on the seveth floor. She walked around, now on the firth why not find her classrooms so she would be late. It was late and she knew that. She walked down the hall. Then she went to turn back. The stair case she had just gone down was gone. "Damn Castle" she muttered knowing that wasnt going to help but it made her feel better. What happens if she runs into a teacher. She sighed and headed for the marble stair case.

Maria was taking one of her common late night strolls through the castle. She had never been caught yet, but there was always that chance so usually Maria paid very close attention to what she was doing. However, on this particular night she found herself thinking about something she hadn't before. How much of a difference there was in her behavior at Hogwarts compared to her behavior at home with her family.
She knew that she tried to fit in wherever she was and frequently changed. Her family was a typical pureblood family, thinking they were better than all who weren't pureblood. But when she came to Hogwarts she disregarded all that her family taught her to fit in and she became a nice sweet person who cared nothing about how pure someone's blood was. Her big question was which one was really her? What did she really believe? As she was questioning this Maria realized that there was someone in front of her. She hadn't even noticed them. It was a small girl, probably first or second year. She breathed a sigh of relief. What would have happened if it had been a teacher instead of another student?

Sarie jumped a foot on the air to see another person out this late. Tyring to clam down thankful that the girl was a teacher. She thought the girl she had nearly bumped into was pretty. "Sorry" She muttered "I didnt see u my fault." Sarie was shaking she wasnt much of the talking type. She had always been a loner.

"Oh, it's no problem," Maria said distractedly, still consumed by her thoughts. But then as the questions kept pouring into her mind she noticed something. Pulling her attention back she looked at the girl and realized she was shaking. "What is wrong with you?" Maria asked in a harsh voice. She really wasn't in the mood for lost little first years. Suddenly she realized how mean she had asked the question and let out a sigh. "Sorry," she said, though it didn't sound very sincere. "Really, what's wrong?" This time she asked the question flatly, but at least it wasn't mean.

Maria sighed. She really didn't want to help this girl, but part of her knew that it was the right thing to do. She didn't really have to, after all the girl did say she would be fine. After a few moments of thought, Maria let out another sigh and asked. "Do you want me to help you find your way?" Yet again the question came out very flatly. She needed to be thinking. She had more important things to do than make sure this girl got back to her common room.

Maria was thankful that the girl refused her help. But when the girl started off, Maria sighed and raised her hand to her head as if she had a headache. That girl would never find her way back going in that direction. She would wind up in the dungeons, and something told Maria that this girl just wasn't Slytherin material. Maria caught up to the girl and grabbed her shoulder. "You're a first year aren't you?" she asked, but answered herself before the girl had a chance. "Of course you are." She forcefully turned the girl in the opposite direction. "Here come with me," she said with a bit of irratation in her voice. "What house are you in?" she asked hoping the answer wasn't Slytherin.

Sarie turned around. "Yeah i am, My house is Gryffindor." Sarie i felt worried. She didnt like people, she didnt like people that pittyed her even more she could handle herself even if no one else knew.

"Very well," Maria said in that same irratated tone that she had used before. She started to lead down the hall, to where she knew they would come to some stairs. Having to put all her confusing thoughts to the side had put Maria in a bad mood. She couldn't believe what nuisance this girl was. "You know, if you are new and do not know your way around, it would probably be in your best interest to not roam the corridors at night," she said in an angry voice. "You are lucky I came along you would have had yourself completely turned around, and if you had went in the direction you were going, you would have been in the dungeons," she continued on still very annoyed.

Sarie shrugged "Like i said i would have found my way" she said turning into a tarpury on the left. THis school is backwards sometimes. "By the way why did u help me if you didnt want to. If it was pitty I dont want it and she walked up the stairs.

As they continued on the girl had asked Maria a question. Maria knew she had been making it obvious that she didn't want to help the girl, so the girl's question didn't surprise her. "I helped you because..." she started and then stopped. "Well, I assure it was not out of pity. And I highly doubt if you would have found your way on your own," Maria said. To be honest the reason she didn't answer the girl's question is because she didn't know the answer, and that brought up all the stuff that Maria had been thinking about before she had seen this girl.

"Well have a nice night" Then went up the stairs. She found herself out her common room she gave the pastword and went inside. Now she remembered why she hated people.

Maria had led the girl to her common room and had the feeling that she hadn't really made a good impression, but she didn't care. She turned on her heels and continued on her way, again able to think about all the confusing things that had been bothering her.

Sarie woundered if she had been rude. THe girl was just trying to help. "She just like my cosuins doesnt think i know what im doing. I bet she woundered around when she was a first year how r u going to find out ur suroundings anyway." she muttered to herself." She left agian but went in the oppised deriction this time hoping not to run into the girl agian.
