The door closed behind her as Adéline rushed out from her Transfiguration class. Almost knocking over a knight in armour, as her entire face was covered with an enormous book, she tried to find her way to the Great Hall using her memory alone.
Needless today, for even someone who was articulate, such a task would be difficult and she soon found herself in an expansive corridor, where a foul portrait of an ogre stared at her menacingly.
Letting her book fall to her side, Adéline bit her lip and approached it slowly. "Ehm... Excuse me? You wouldn't happen to know where I am, would you?"
The ogre continued to stare, and the Hufflepuff stood awkwardly awaiting an answer. It was then she realised the portrait was awfully still, not even fluttering an eyelash. Placing her palm on the frame, she leaned forward before raising an eyebrow.
"A muggle portrait? What's that doing here?"

Girty walked down the corridor not actually knowing where her legs were taking her and not really caring. It was the best way to explore Hogwarts, to get lost. After walking past portraits of old witches and wizards, statues of one eyes monsters, Girty came across a door that was very familiar. It was the door to the Transfiguration class room, she was not as lost as she first planned. Grudgingly she walked down the corridor, scuffing her feet along the floor as she went, this was not what she wanted.
However as she wondered a little bit more down the corridor she noticed another Hufflepuff looking very curiously and mumbling to herself about a portrait. Walking closer Girty titled her head to one side to get a better look. She was right it was not moving.
“Very strange indeed. Either it is under a spell, the blooming creature is playing a mind game with us or a made professor but it up there to freak students out.”
Girty strained her eyes even more as she looked at the painting, before fumbling around in her rather full pockets and pulled out her glasses. But even that did not make much difference, that Ogre was not moving.

"Yes it is strange, isn't it?" Addy mused, before her eyes opened comically wide and she spun around to face the girl behind her.
"Er, sorry, I had no idea anyone was around- I wouldn't be asking unmoving portraits for directions if I had." She laughed nervously, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ears by habit.
Then, to avoid an awkward pause in which Adéline would surely embarrass herself, she knocked on the frame of the portrait. The ogre, however, refused to move, nor was it blinking. "Do you think it's an entrance to something? I mean, what an odd place for a Muggle portrait to be thrown randomly onto the castle walls."

Girty gave a small laugh at the girls shock, she wanted to reassure her that she too had a habit of talking to portraits and statues and if they did not talk back she would make up the voices to match. However she did not have the oppertunity when the girl seemed to stumble across something that may have a lot of truth behind it. It made Girty think anyway.
“It may do. But whether or not you need to speak a command word like to enter the common rooms or it could be like the room of requirements when all you need to do is wish to be inside.”
Girty moved closer and pulled out her wand. She tapped the sides and even poked the ogre in the eye, but nothing seemed to work. Feeling rather put out Girty took a step back and looked at the other portraits either side of it. They were giving both of them funny looks and seemed to move away rather quickly as soon as Girty approached them. ‘Must be scared of it’ she thought.

Addy frowned, also pulling out her own wand and tapping it hesitantly on the nose. Though it lay unmoving, she wrinkled her own in thought.
"Do you know any fairy tales about ogres?" She asked Girty, whom she recognised from countless times hanging around the Common Room. "Muggle preferably. Perhaps there's some sort of spell to wake him."
Adéline smiled a bit, knowing it was farfetched but willing to try anyway.
"You know, like kissing toads to become princes and other insane folk tales."
