Ashton laughed as Sarie rambled. "No, haven't seen Maxi yet." He smiled, "I guess you could say that, I was named Seeker and Captain of the Ravenclaw team over the summer, so I'm basically here to get the rules, and hopefully some strategies to help my team play a good game."

"Cool I want to play for Gryffindor but I'm not sure I'm good enough. I'm a good flier but I never really played Quidditch before." She sighed and sat down on the pitch. Come now, that's no way to think. So your new its not the first thing your new to. The voiced muttered. "What kind of broom you got Ash? What about you Erys what kind do you have?" She patted the ground next to her. "Sit down I dont want to feel smaller than i really am." She laughed. A small breeze went thought the pitch. "That feels good." She muttered. "Nice breeze is good for flying."

Ashton shook hs head and smiled softly as he sat down next to Sarie. "I have a Firebolt." He answered. "Why are you so worried about the team? If you're a good flyer, you should be able to pick up Quidditch in no time."

"Yeah, but you know me." She pulled her knees to her chest. "I'm really nervous all the time when it comes to some thing new. A Firebolt that's a good one. But I like my Sliver Arrow though. Its really fast. I need to see if theres any opening on the house team." She thought about the broom how much TLC. She had to put into it. Ian was right he did abuse that thing. She felt another breeze and looked at the sky she wanted to get off the ground.

No sooner had Brianna spoken but a seventh year joined them. "Ah, lovely," she said as she recognised the Slytherin. "Miss Grace," Bree said, smiling proudly, "I'm surprised you've come. Being beater isn't all that tricky. Though there are a few tricks I could teach you." Bree winked at the girl and smiled. In her day, Bree was a beater and she still trained like one.
Then another fine, upstanding young person joined them. "Mister McLane," she said, clapping a hand to a forearm pad, "glad you could join us. Being captain isn't all daisies and goals, you know." She smiled as the students conversed, over quidditch which pleased her. She let them talk, feeling the cool breeze on her neck. A good sign, Bree thought and gazed around. Students were upon the stands, a few dozen Bree would say but she would wait a little longer before starting the lesson to allow more students to join them on the pitch.
"I have a Moontimer," Bree said, turning back to the chattering students, "and it my be old but it can still out-fly most." She shot a playful look at Ashton, knowing that his broom could catch her without any help.

Charlotte strided quickly to the field, eyes glittering with a thrilling excitment. During the time between now and the first class, she had not only recieved a broom, but had practiced countless time. From soaring closely over the water at the lake, to weaving back and forth through the trees at the edged of the forest, she had flown almost nayewheres and everywheres withing Hogwart's boundries.
She skipped closer to the group of congregated students, and grinned to herself, she was not late! She pulled at a strap the wrapped around her like an archer's quiver or a bookbag's vice, and tugged at the wooden pole that jutted out behind her shoulder. A soft click, and her broom was released from the home-made carrier; she held the broom excitedly in her hands, loving the feel of the cold wood. She waited, grinning all-the-while.

Switching her hold on her broom to the other hand, she watched a proud look creep onto the flying teacher's face. Being her expression and mood were pleasant too, she couldn't help but feel a boost. Obviously she had made O'Donnell's day. "I know, but I figured I could use the practise. It sounded like fun, too." Smiling wider at the last part, Erys nodded, "I'd like that, professor." More tricks to cream her opponents were always welcome. Even her broom was a little tricked out, being a model that would never hit the shelves. Just like most Slytherin's her family had money, which she used to hire someone to craft her a new broom. Her's was excellent- deep green in color with scales carved into it. The bristles were fine and neat, every hair falling into place. At the end of the broom, infront of the handle, a snake's head was carved into the wood. Its fangs were a sparkling silver in color. Erys was so proud of that thing, you had no idea. Built for extreme speed, good with the bouncing, nice on the turns.. It wasn't the best if you wanted to do tricks, but it did nicely with the intricate Slytherin formations.
So McLane was the new seeker and Captain? Had he been on the team before? Did he have experiance? Being older, with the experiance under her belt, Erys felt he wasn't a big threat. He couldn't just jump into the Quidditch world and catch the snitch imediately, unless he had been trained. Then again, nobody was like that.[/color]

Ashton nodded as Professor O'Donnell reminded him that being seeker and captain of his team wasn't an easy job. "I understand professor. I know I have alot of responsibilities as captain, and that's why I came here. If there is anything here, that I can learn that will benefit me and my team. Then I won't let the oppurtunity to learn it slip away from me." He looked her directly in the eye, and his voice took on an edge. "I'm going to be the best captain I can be. I'm not letting my team down." he vowed. His face softened into a smile, "But there probably will be times when I might be a little distracted by my thoughts!" he said with a small laugh, directing a wink towards Sarie, who he knew would know exactly what he was talking about.

Sarie giggled at Ashton's comment. "Yeah I know more then most what that is." She looked around the pitch she wanted to get flying. She didn't practly remake her sliver arrow over the summer. She would have to send Ian a picture of it. To show how much it had changed.

A still tiny Hufflepuff ran to join them and Brianna smiled at her. "So good of you to join us, Miss Catherwood," she said, smiling at the small girl, "but no shenanigans this time." She winked, and leaned close to the small girl, "well, not while I'm looking at any rate." Bree laughed and turned to Miss Grace. She continued laughing but more boisterously now and clapped a hand onto Erys's back. "It will be fun," she said and bobbed her head up and down. If only she knew, Brianna thought. This lesson was going to be wonderful, just as soon as the mystery guest arrived but Bree thought they could start without her.
She let her arm fall to her side again but soon put her fist on her waist, leaning on her vertical broom, concentrating on Ashton. Bree smiled at the Ravenclaw. "Like you were just then," she said. The boy had been rambling on about nothing in particular which amused Bree. She let her arm drop to her side again as she surveyed the stands. More people had gone to the stands then the last time she had checked but that didn't matter. "We need a few more people and then we can start," Bree said absently, more to herself then any other.

Ashton smiled and nodded. "I know, it's hard work. I just hope I'm up to the challenge." He looked at his Firebolt thoughtfully. "Hmm, the Firebolt is an excellent broom, but I think I'm going to tryout my new broom."
Turning towards the castle, he wandlessly and wordlessly summoned the broom to him, he heard it whistling through the air, and smiled as it zoomed towards him. It was a beautiful broom, made of cherry wood, and dyed a stunning midnight blue with a little bit of sheen on it, and painted on it, were glittering silvery stars, that shimmered just like real ones. It was top of the line complete with a smooth streamlined tail for unbelievable aerodynamics and speed. It had a built in navigation system and superb braking. It was the new Lightning Bolt 3000.
Ashton smiled with pride, this was the best day ever! Reaching into his pocket, Ashton pulled out a picture of him and Maxi at the lake, it had been taken by a student who wanted to be a photographer when they got out of school. In the picture, the two boys were laughing and exchanging small kisses. They were hugging and just generally enjoying eachother's comapny.
The picture had been placed onto a muggle keychain. Smiling, Ashton attached the keychain to the end of his broomhandle, it would be his good luck charm.
((Please see the thread 'A New Year, A New Team' for my claim on the Lightning Bolt 3000))

She nodded. She wanted her broom to so she copied Ashton, the broom didn't come. She sat in the grass picturing it. She wanted it to come why can't she do this spell. She sighed.

Ashton laughed softly as Sarie tried to summon her broom like he had just done. "Don't worry about it Sar." He said gently, "Wandless and nonverbal magic is really hard. You have to work at, it's okay if you can't do it the first time. Just keep trying." he smiled at his young friend, "Want me to help you with it?"

Sarie sighed. She pictured the broom from the handle to tall. How it glittered. "Accio." She said. The was a whooshing sound. The broom didn't come to her. It fell at the end of the pitch. "Well I can sort of do it... It came to the pitch right." She had wondered if she had done it with magic or with her mind but that didn't matter she went to fetch the broom.
