Algernon stares incredulously at Rainer, his mouth hanging open for a moment, before he finds the words.
"But... over 90-- that would make you -- but you look so good!"

Rainer stares incredulously before letting himself laugh. This was not the reaction he had expected and, now that he thinks of it, he could not have even begun to anticipate it. Rainer drops in to a nearby chair and brings his hands to his face in mock amazement. "I'm...I'm so old," he begins before breaking apart in to laughter again. And even though he can laugh now, what he's said is true and it has been a very long time.
And then he can't stop.

Algernon is stepping forward and placing his hand on Rainer's shoulder before he knows it, and even then he does not pull away.
His heart had leapt, at first, at the sound of Rainer's laughter -- from what he knew, it seemed as if it had been an awfuly long time, and that he had made Rainer laugh... well, it had felt good.
But now the laughter scared him, because it didn't seem like it would ever stop, and he crouches down to face Rainer on the same level, looking at him with some concern. "Rainer? Are you alright?"
