Draco followed her gaze, feeling his arms shake slightly at his sides. He stared at his wand and clenched his fists.
"I- I'm going in there." He said, cursing himself for stuttering. He looked back at the girls, feeling slightly foolish but needing to prove himself.
Not to Van Dort, not to Turpin. Not to anyone at Hogwarts.
To his father.
His father that would have expected him to charge into the forest, just like the others who had before him.
Swallowing, he took a few tentative steps toward the forest, hoping the others would follow him.

Ashlee screamed, "DAMMIT MALFOY I'LL BIND YOU AGAIN IF YOU DON'T STOP THIS INSTANT!" she tried pulling him back by his robes. "You'll definetly get killed in there... and I don't want that." she looked at him with eyes full of saddness and pain. "It's not worth it... whatever it is you're trying to prove."

Each bird is still. Together they call in a sonic, amplified chorus "Consider this an invitation." Gravity takes the bird as rain, they collapse as dark waters on the surface of the lake, the children and the forest.
Erich listens attentively to the hum of Draco's thoughts and lets himself fall from the tree. He is mist before impact.
Father?

Draco turned toward the girl, ignoring Turpin's pull on his robes. His eyes were filled with a rage that hadn't ever occupied them before. His father, always disappointed in him would finally be proud.
"You can't stop me, Van Dort. If you don't let me go in today, I'll go tomorrow. Would you rather I go myself than with the company of you tw-"
He was cut off by a shrill chorus of voices and covered his ears with a yelp. Water began to pour all over them, around the faint forest and splashing onto the face of the lake.

Lisa held her arms above her head, trying her best to shield herself. Her knees fell onto the moist grass of the Lake's shore, tracks of mud streaking across her robes.
"Don't go," she pleaded, knowing that her and Ashlee both wouldn't let him venture into the forest alone. She desperately tried to convince him to stay far away, where it was safe, not wanting the same nightmares that haunted her to plague him as well. "It's not worth it, nothing is."

Ashlee gave up. "Dammit Malfoy..." she let go of him. "I'm not going in there after you!" She turned around letting herself get drenched. She cursed under her breath. She knew she couldnt let him go, but she also knew that she wouldn't be able to stop him.

Draco looked at the pair, his eyes, for once, void of any hatred, anger or malice. They only occupied one thing- Determination. Without responding, he walked into the forest, his figure blending in with the shadowy trees until he had completely disappeared behind them.

Lisa watched him go, a pained expression on her face. Then, she stood up, sharing a look with Ashlee before running into the forest, trying desperately to catch up with the foolish boy, her eyes stinging with fear as dread slowly travelled through her limbs.
