Faye sat by the looking glass, her eyes watching it calmly over her tea cup as she sipped her hot lemon tea softly. She was in deep thought, unblinking, silent, still. It was late in the evening, and Faye was waiting for two of her students, Grace Marks and Girty Hubbles.
Her's and Girty's last session together had revealed some amazing things about Girty - above all her desire to become a coot. Faye smile to herself, amused by the idea of a little black bird in her lesson. But now it was Grace's turn to find herself, and Faye hoped to do it with Girty's help, rather than her own...
Glancing at the classroom door, she waited patiently.

Girty knocked lightly on the door and pushed it open. She had a small smile on her face when she saw the professor sitting ready. "Hello Professor. I have brought Grace." She turned around and held the door open for Grace.

Grace poked her head into the room and smiled sheepishly at the beautiful professor. She smiled at Girty and walked in. She still did not know why she had agreed to come but though she shouldn't back out now. She stood uncomfortably in the middle of the room and waited for Girty.

Faye closed her eyes as she finished the last of her tea. She set it town slowly, the china clinking. She had spent a better part of the afternoon remaining calm and breathing, for she knew that with two student's minds to handle, she would need to be ready. Steadily she stood up and faced the Hufflepuffs. "Hello, girls," she smiled kindly. "It's wonderful that you could both come this evening! Would you like some lemon tea before we begin, to calm your nerves?"
The tray bobbed into the air next to her, hovering expectantly.

Girty walked farther into the room pushing Grace as she went. "Yes tea would be nice. Good for the nervous." She turned and smiled at Grace and whispered to her. "Do not worry it is fine. Trust me."

Hearing what Girty said, Grace smiled, "erm... uh... thanks!" She didn't really think she could stomach anything, but perhaps they were right, perhaps it will calm my nerves!

Faye smiled approvingly as Grace and Girty both drank the hot liquid. Faye had in fact slipped a little concoction of her own into the cups, a relaxing solution that would do them both good for today. The tray settled of the floor in the middle of the room, and Faye kneeled down next to it. "Please join me, girls." she smiled.
"Today I was hoping to do something a little different. W shall, of course, be helping Grace enter the Void, for we do indeed wish to know what her animal heart is." she looked at Girty. "But instead of I, I want it to be Girty who helps Grace achieve this. I shall be on hand to make the mental connection when I sense you are both ready - but I wish to test you, Girty." she said.

Girty took a sip of the tea and nodded at the professor. "OK then i guess it is breathing first then." She placed her cup back onto the tray and looked at Grace with a smile. "Breathing is very important. Do you need more time to clam down or would you like to practice the breathing patterns?"

Faye slid back on the dusty floor to give Grace and Girty a little space. Folding her hands in her lap, she watched calmly. "Remember to join hands." she said perhaps a little too pushily. She was very excited, to the point that she was finding it hard not to interrupt like she'd promised herself not to. Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes. She would begin her own breathing while the two got their bearings.

Grace took the cup in a shaking hand and drained it. There was a frown on her face as she put her cup down as Girty spoke to her. She nodded. "I'll, we can practice!" she said holing out her quivering hands.

Girty smiled. "Good. trust me the breathing will help." Taking the professor advice she took hold of Graces hands and looked at her. "Now i want you to follow the same pattern as me." Girty took a deep breath and then let it out slowly.

Grace nodded. She breathed deeply and let it out slowly, just as Girty had done. This is calming, she thought. She breathed again, and again, and got calmer and calmer.

Faye opened one eye as she watched them concentrate. As she had done with Girty, she would make all three of them enter the Void together when they were least expecting it. The magic of tea would be swimming through them now, their hearts pumping with it. If all three of them were going to fully enter the Void and not become trapped between the worlds, the two Hufflepuffs would need to be near a state of coma before it worked.

Girty continued to smile and looked at Grace noticing she was becoming less tense. "OK now close your eyes and try and empty you mind of all thoughts." Girty shot a glance at the professor but noticed she was not paying any attention. Girty lost her breathing rhythm. After a brief panic she tried to calm down.

Grace closed her eyes and nodded slowly. She breathed in ... and then out ... and then in ... and then out ... Girty lost her breathing pattern, but Grace did not notice, she carried on breathing. She could think of nothing else except her breathing, it was now the centre of her world.
