Fernand Opened the door to the Three Broomsticks and instantly a flood of warmth, light and voices surronded him. He was wearing his new cloak he had gotten, that was a deep blood red. Its its long collar layed flat on his shoulders. Fernand walked in and and slid into the corner table, and waited for Carrie.

Carrie had just hurriedly arrived outside the Three Broomsticks and was slightly out of breath with her worrying about turning up late. She glanced at her wrist watch, Just gone seven, no need to worry. She ran a hand through her hair, and exhaled deeply before finally pushing open the pub's door. The Gryffindor felt a rush of warmth as she entered the room, and she immediately began to glance around to see if Fernand had already arrived. It only took her a second to spot the familar face in the corner of the pub and she soon made her way over to the table to sit down, and gave him a smile.

Fernand returned the smile to Carrie and yet again he found himself staring into those beautiful eyes." Shall I go get us drinks then?"asked Fernand quickly

Carrie smiled at the Slytherin, who was looking particularly good in a cloak she had never seen him wear before, before replying. 'A Butterbeer would be great, thanks.' She hesitated, unsure whether to go up to the counter with him or to stay seated.. or even to offer to pay. She gave a sigh. She felt no good at this sort of thing.

"Okay." Fernand got up rather quickly and became dizzy. he settled himself and headed for the bar. Once up there he ordered a butterbeer and a Firewater. He placed 2 sickles on the counter and walked back over to the table with the drinks. He handed Carrie the butterbeer. Fernand took a sip of his firewater and asked, "So, how are you?"

Carrie said a quick, 'Thanks' as Fernand placed the butterbeer in front of her. Placing her elbows on the table.. an act that her annoyingly "proper" stepmother would have scolded her for if she was at home.. Carrie took a quick sip of her drink before replying to Fernand. 'I'm great.' She said smiling. 'Especially as you've saved me from another thrilling evening of reading on my own. ' She said rolling her eyes with a slight laugh, as she continued to watch the Slytherin.

"My pleasure. This is extremely better than doing homework. So hows quidditch?" asked Fernand staring at Carrie.Hows quidditch. come on man you can do better than that! thought Fernand

Carrie couldn't help but grin, as she noticed Fernand almost seem to mentally scold himself for his own question. 'Quidditch?' She repeated, considering the question. 'Not too bad, considering half the team don't seem well.. that committed to it at the moment.' She replied with a slight smirk. 'You're still playing chaser for the team, right?' Carrie asked, taking another sip of her drink.

Draco walked into The Three Broomsticks, and quickly headed over to the front where he ordered a butterbeer for himself. However, as he looked around briefly for a table, his eyes caught sight of a familiar Gryffindor. They narrowed when they found the figure of another Slytherin he didn't quite recognize, and he clenched his jaw, trying to keep his indifferent composure.
It wasn't long before Draco strode purposefully toward their little table, his butterbeer long forgotten at the counter. "This wouldn't happen to be a date, would it?" He sneered, looking the boy in the eye. "Because if so, I'm disappointed. A Slytherin associating with a Gryffindor." He turned toward McEwan and his jaw clenched harder.

For the second time that day, something quite unexpected happened to Carrie, as the approaching figure of Malfoy purposefully came towards her and Fernand. She raised an eyebrow wondering what on earth he could want.. especially with such a seemingly annoyed look on his face.
The Gryffindor gained a confused expression, and only managed to say, 'Mal..' before he spoke, rather coldly, himself. Carrie finally brought about her usual composure, once the usual snide was given and she looked back at him. 'Why do you ask Malfoy?' She began, watching his expression closely. 'You don't seem to mind Gryffindor and Slytherin association when its you I'm talking to.' She said, thinking of their past conversations, and perhaps choosing to forget the last.

Draco crossed his arms over his chest loosely, his eyes flashing. "I don't remember all our conversations being all too civil," Draco said calmly, looking at McEwan as if seeing her for the first time. "And I've never gone as far as to date one." His hand balled into a fist as he looked back at the Slytherin with an indifferent expression, other than the rage in his eyes.

Carrie couldn't understand why Malfoy was having such a problem with it.. sure he was maintaining a calm expression and tone.. but his eyes, those certainly were not calm. 'Well that wasn't my fault..' She said as he brought up their "uncivil" last meeting. 'But, thats not the point.' She quickly added, shaking her head and wondering why she had even said it. The Gryffindor looked back up at Malfoy. 'Why do you have a problem with this?' She asked with an eyebrow raised questioningly.

Draco narrowed his eyes, "I obviously have a problem with it because..." His voice faltered and his angry expression turned into one of mild confusion. He frowned for a moment, before looking back at the Slytherin boy. "I'm obviously looking out for a fellow Slytherin's reputation..." He paused, his eyes losing their rage and shining with bewilderment. "I..." He looked back at McEwan "...Obviously"

"Malfoy, I can look out for myself." said Fernand standing up. "I wouldnt care even if she was a hufflepuff. Just because you cant get a date dosent mean you can take it out on me." said Fernand quite calmly

Carrie's eyes softened with Malfoy's hesitations, and she became unsure of what to say. She knew it wouldn't be too long before Fernand had something to add after some of the comments Malfoy had made, and she simply stayed quiet as Fernand challenged the other slytherin. Her gaze swapped from slytherin to slytherin.. she just didn't know what to think, as she waited for Malfoy to reply.
