Grace was sitting by the fire while a violent storm raged outside. She should have been practicing for Quidditch, no matter the weather but she had been scolded for even wanting to go outside. So she was by the fireplace in the common room. ... What is there to do? Grace asked herself and looked around. There were the books over there and, Hay I'll read. She jumped to her feet and dashed to a pile of books. she accidentally hit her side on the corner of a side table and knocked it over. She whirled around to see if anything had fallen and saw nothing. She looked around to see if anyone had seen her silliness- no one but her in the common room. She gingerly picked up the table and placed it right again and resumed her walk to the books, hugging her side, when she heard something go plop by the table she had knocked over. Grace turned and saw a book lying on the floor pages spread across the floor, spine up. She picked it up and held it in her hands straightening the pages while reading the cover The Secret Diary Of- but she didn't see who because someone standing behind her had reached over her shoulder and had grabbed it out of her hands.

Grace whirled around, purpe hair shimmering in the fire light. "Boggy, oh hi, I just fund it on thi-" she froze recognized, "do you know who's it is? I didn't see anything but finding someones diary is always fun!" She smiled slyly at the taller boy. "let's read it!" she mused, with an evil grin.

"Well," Grace looked at the book in his hands, "that is indeed odd..." she paused and looked from the diary to his bleek face, "all the more reason to read it, don't you think? We're the only ones here so you can read it to me!" She looked around as she spoke, "we can sit by the fire!"

Boggleworth sat down heavily by the fire and opened the tatty diary it was in poor condition with pages curled and missing and it looked as though it had been drenched in water, he began to read it aloud "it starts off withI had a nice walk in the park with mum today she says that I should start this diary off though I don’t think I’ll use it much… but then i can't read the rest there's loads of dirt and ripped pages I'm afraid, a load missing in fact" he shuffled through the pages until he found more that was legible "then it says erm, I have done a terrible deed this day that I dare not write of. I can’t believe what has happened I did it though he’s down. But what have I done I know I shall always remember this I’m old before my time! He deserved it though for what he did I’m only having revenge that’s all he deserved it he… he…" his voice became strangled near the end as he vaguely remembered it like it had happened to him "that can't be me!" he nearly shouted

"Revenge?" Grace said, her fragile brow creasing, "how old do you think it is? And what were you talking about? He deserved it?" She glanced briefly at Boggleworth's face, the lines of worry were growing deeper by the minute.

"Well," Grace said cheerfully, rubbing her hands together, "read on, maybe it'll give us a clue as to what happened or something."

Boggleworth couldn't help but be infected by Grace's cheerfullness so he began to read on "erm well there's so much stuff on it, it's hard to read...mmm the next bit says I've met a boy today who says he can help me, his name is Jimmy and he's a street lad like me, though he's part of a gang and I can join it e' says, it'll be difficult but I'm tough at least now... hmm what do you thin to that, it doesn't sound as bad..."

Girty jumped through the door, dripping wet. She stood blinking around the blurred common room trying to make out if anyone was in there. Her ears picked up fainted noises. After blinking a couple of times the room shot into focus and she could see Grace and Boggleworth with a book.
Slowly walking over she peered over books shoulder to see what it was they were reading. She thought it best to make her presence known.
"What are being secret about?"

Boggleworth was lost in thought he had a slight scowl on his face as he struggled to remember something, he suddenly jolted up and noticed Girty "hi" he said absent mindedly
