Erika caught Lisa's eye and burst out laughing. She did the bubble-head charm on herself. "Let's go!" she mouthed before diving under the surface of the lake.

Lisa sucked in a large breath, out of habit, and dove under the surface after Erika. Instantly, she felt her vision darken while everything took on a slightly blue tinge. It was empty and open for the most part, as they were hardly deep enough to see the Lake's floor. Swimming further away from the shore, she glanced back at Erika. "I don't think anything interesting is going to linger around the castle," she explained, her voice echoing around her, while continuing to swim further out.

Erika laughed. "You're right." she replied. "Let's swim out to the center. Maybe we'll see the Merpeople!" she said excitedly.

Biting her lip, Lisa nodded. She knew merpeople lived in the Lake waters, but also she knew that they weren't the most friendly of sorts. Not to intruders, anyway.
Thrashing her legs, she swam as deep as she could, before the pressure of the water above them prevented her from going any deeper. The slight dimness of before turned into a full, nearly black darkness. Holding out her wand, she cast a quick Lumos and looked back at Erika with intensely curious eyes. Her eyes widened suddenly as something caught her leg and she tugged it back, spinning around. Noticing it was just a piece of seaweed, she untangled her leg and broke out into relieved laughter.

Erika laughed as Lisa struggled to free herself from the seaweed. Then... something tugged on her ankle. She looked down expecting to see a piece of seaweed. This however, was not the case. She screamed as she saw one of the tentacles of the giant squid wrap around her ankle. "Lisa! Help!" she cried as she kicked violently. Then she realized something... the bubble-head charm was wearing off! Erika began to scream and cry as she kicked frantically. Her lungs were crying out for oxygen. Then... everything went black and she slipped into unconciousness.
((let's just pretend that the bubble-head charm wore off, cause we were in there for a long time))

((Aws, I was hoping for Grindylows personally . Lets meet a few of those on our way out, hey? xD)) Lisa turned back to Erika after releasing herself. Her laughter immediately stopped and instead, she let out a cross between a warning and a yell of fright. Reaching desperately for her wand, she saw the squid grasp Erika's ankle and noticed the Ravenclaw's eyelids drooping. "Oh, no. Not now!" She cried, also seeing her struggle for air and stopped her own large, gaping breaths, hoping to save the remaining air in her charm. She racked her brain for a solution when she noticed the squid's tentacles getting ready to speed off. On impulse, she pointed her wand straight ahead of her and shouted, quite loud, "Impedimenta!" Her eyes widened as the squid began to slow down, not quite to a full stop but definitely good enough. She quickly unwrapped the tentacle from Erika's form, watching as the squid struggled to hit her with one of it's free tentacles. The movement was slow enough to avoid, thanks to the impedimenta spell, and she quickly felt Erika's limp weight collect in her arms. Now to swim, she thought with a grimace. "Erika, can you hear me? Erika?" She cried desperately. She looked behind her, hoping her spell would last long enough for them to get away.

Erika heard a voice but didn't know who it was. The voice sounded panicked. What's going on? she thought. She tried to wake up, but she felt like iron bands were tightening around her chest, crushing her lungs. She had still been breathing. Barely. But then her lungs ran out of air. And she stopped breathing.

((Oh, you're dying! Okay, we'll skip the Grindylows then, lol!))
The weight in her arms moved just slightly and she turned to face it, her limbs weakening with each stride. The air of her own bubble-head charm was quickly disappearing and she willed her eyes to stay open.
The darkness surrounding her lifted slightly, and she sighed in relief, knowing they were getting closer to the surface. Just a bit further, she thought hopefully, her pace slowing down considerably. She turned to Erika and saw the small tint of blue on her lips. Not good, not good, not good. Her mind chanted as she felt the bubble-head charm disappear completely.
She had a few seconds of breath left, she realised, from the large breath she had sucked in before starting the twisted adventure. Closing her eyes, she broke through the surface, gasping as her lungs filled with fresh air.

((Hmm, let me get us back to Boggleworth, then. I thought you might've wanted to add something...))
Looking around frantically for the shore, Lisa spotted the castle and forced her worn out limbs to continue thrashing. The water glided around her form, and she made sure to keep Erika's face above the water, huffing with the effort.
They were approaching the shore, almost there. Almost. As soon as she hit the sand, Lisa toppled over, panting. Picking herself up, she stared at Erika, before looking around for Henry, shouting "Help!" every so often.
She wasn't a nurse and had no idea what to do in such a situation. She also could hardly stand up, much less walk to the infirmary.

Boggleworth had started to return to the castle, but first he had done a quick sweep of the grounds for any students. So luckily he was about. Hearing Lisa's cry for help, he stumbled down to the lake saying "What's the situation?" then he saw Erika he ran to her side then sent sparks up into the air to call for help. Trying to remember his little bit of training he conjured up a stretcher and levitated Erika onto it. (sorry about 'Godmodding' but Erika is unconcious, I can change the post if you like!)

(no prob! happy to help, sorry about rubbish reply though) Boggleworth quickly floated the stretcher with Erika's prone form into the castle and straight to the infirmary as fast as possible. Whilst he asked Lisa "what the hell happened?"

Lisa watched Erika worriedly, wringing her hands as she turned to face Boggleworth. Looking ashamed, she shook her head, "It's my fault, sometimes I just don't think everything through." She wiped away some of the clinging water from the corner of her eye and continued, "We went down to the lake, extremely deep- If I hadn't suggested anything, we'd never have had to go through that. I-" The fact that she had almost caused someone's death had just hit her and suddenly felt extremely foolish and guilty.
