Keaira wandered over, listening to the peculiar conversation which echoed and reverberated all the way to her ears. Under the pretense of reading a thick black text, she settled herself down near the gang and listened intently, only comprehending about half of the words she read. Lucky enough that she was reading a book she had read three or four times before. She smirked to herself.

Ashlee watched a nearby girl out of the corner of her eye. She wondered if she'd like to join. She stood up and walked over to her. "Hey! Want some company?" she asked sweetly.

Keaira looked up nonchalantly. "Oh? I suppose—I mean, yes, yes, sure, thank you. My name is Keaira Liath; what's yours?"

Ashlee smiled. "Ashlee Jade Van Dort, but you can call me A.J." She sat down. "If you want, you can come over by my friends and I."

Keaira skillfully tempered the smile she felt beginning to grow on her features, nodding politely instead. "It seems a little silly that we both just sat down and are going to get up right away, but, thank you. I must admit, I don't have many friends around here. Oh, but what year are you? I mean, you seem a good deal beyond third year, are you sure you want to associate with me?"
She realized too late that A.J. might not take her sarcasm for what it was, but pushed the thought out of her mind and gave a small smile. The trick, she reminded herself, was knowing when certain expressions were appropriate. When smiles, for instance, would do the most good. They were not to be given out so casually.

Ashlee laughed. "I associate with everyone... I even try to get Malfoy to show his good side. But it doesn't seem to work" Ashlee stood up. "Oh, I'm a 7th year Hufflepuff... and Head Girl. "she rolled her eyes at herself. "That of course doesn't matter."

Lisa, who realized she was only minutes away from falling into a deep sleep, heard the voices of the two girls and immediately rose her head, rubbing at her eyes. Then, noticing one of the girls was A.J, she waved them over, a drowsy smile on her face.

"Head Girl? And you try to persuade Malfoy to show a good side," Keaira said with a light giggle. "I don't suppose it would do much good. I don't think I would even take on such a task. Oh—" Chancing to glance over A.J.'s shoulder, she saw another girl who she didn't recognize. "I think your friend is trying to attract your attention."
(OOC: Right, as much as I'd love to stick around, it's 12:34 AM and I still have about twenty pages of reading for English before I go to bed. 'Night, all.)

Scowling, Draco looked at Jerred, a sinister look in his eye. Then, of course, he rose his hand up to his nose, realizing it was a bit tender. Digging through his pockets, he gripped his wand, his cheeks slightly flushed.
"I've learned a spell for this-" He said, avoiding the student's gazes. "The burn will be gone in a matter of- Turpin, what in god's name are you doing, stop waving your hands like a lunatic. Hufflepuffs, I swear I'll never understand them!"
Draco glanced at the girl, his facial expression clearly expressing annoyance, as he quickly banished the offending burn away. Then, looking toward the two girls, he rolled his eyes. "Not a Gryffindor, don't bring a Gryffindor over here... "

Lisa stopped her 'lunatic waving' and glanced at Malfoy with a sigh. "I'm just trying to attract their attention... would you rather I yell? I can go quite high-pitched." She said, looking back to the pair of girls.
(ooc: Okay, 'night!)

Draco grimaced, his nose scrunching up in distaste. "I may deserve many horrible things in life, Turpin, but I definitely think having to listen to your voice any higher than it is now would be too extreme of a torture for any sane person."

Lisa glared at Malfoy, before her eyes brightened. "You're right, that would be a very terrible torture, indeed." She said, knowing her high notes (and every other note, for that matter) when she sang were completely off key.

"You know Malfoy, you should open your ears and actually try and listen to what others say. Hufflepuffs are just as good as us Slytherins. No House is better than another, understand?" Jerred said. He quickly noticed the Gryffindor girl. "Hi, I'm Jerred and NOTHING like that piece of crap Malfoy>"
