[Kandler Norton]

Kandler wandered around the grounds silently until he came to the lake. His gray eyes stared out over the glittering water that reflected the suns lightly before he slowly took a seat on the soft grass before the water.

[Helia Ollivander]

Halo walked down by the lake, sighing softly. All the drama over the past few days was finally catching up to her. She sighed again, and then saw someone else. Sitting by the lake was boy with a red Gryffindor patch on his robes, she walked over to him, "Mind if I join you?" she asked, not wanting to disturb him if he wanted to be left alone.

[Kandler Norton]

He looked up at the voice and cleared hsi throat. He gave a nod. "Sure." He said giving a wolfish grin.

[Helia Ollivander]

"Thanks," she said. She sat down beside him, staring out over the lake, wishing she could follow the sun to wherever its light was going next. She didn't care where it was... she just needed a break from Hogwarts. She then remembered that she was in the company of a stranger, "I'm Halo by the way."

[Kandler Norton]

He had looked at her occasionally and when she introduced himself he gave a nod. "Nice to meet you. I'm Kandler." Kandler let his eyes go back to the surface of the lake and then to the light blue sky that seemed to hold no clouds. "Something on your mind?" He asked

[Helia Ollivander]

"More than one person should have to deal with..." she said with a half-hearted chuckle. "Between three of my best friends all having crushes on each other, to my own stupid stunts that will inevitably get me expelled... Well, I'm sure you can imagine." she shrugged and laid back on the grass, staring up at the sky. "And what's your story? Being outside by yourself when I can only assume that you're one of the more popular Gryffindors... Where's your entourage?"

[Kandler Norton]

He sighed. "One of those damn triangle things?" He asked. Kandler shook his head. "You are wrong on the popular Gryffindor." He spoke smiling still. "Nothing more than a seventh year Gryffindor trying to get by in life."

[Helia Ollivander]

"Amen!" she punched the air and laughed. "You know something, I bet there are more students like you and me in Hogwarts, and yet noone can get along. It really makes no sense." she said putting her hands beneath her head. "Everyones just trying to get through life as best they can, but they feel they have to tear everyone else down along the way..." she rolled her eyes.

[Kandler Norton]

Kandler laughed more at her and shook his head a bit. "How odd." he smirked. "I doubt we are that much alike."

[Helia Ollivander]

"Well of course not, but alike in the fact that we're both trying to get through life in one piece, eh? In the same way a majority, if not all, of the people in our school have the same daily quota: Survive; and everyday that gets harder." she shrugged, then sat up, "But on a lighter note, noones died this year." she chuckled a bit sarcastically.

[Kandler Norton]

Kandler nodded. "Well, you are right." He smiled a bit at her with that wolfish grin of his.

[Helia Ollivander]

She rolled her eyes and laughed, "So, tell me about yourself, Kandler. Got any brothers or sisters?"

[Kandler Norton]

Kandler cleared his throat a bit. "Uh...I had a brother." He said sfotly.

[Helia Ollivander]

"Oh..." she said softly. "Would you mind if I ask what happened? And feel free to tell me to zip it."

[Kandler Norton]

He sighed a bit and ran a hand through his hair. "He died protecting me. Wehn I was being foolish." He whispered. "I had gone on a trip with him I think it was bulgaria. I had been wandering around as my brother had told me not to do." Kandler kept looking about. "I ran into a dragon and was knocked around and burnt up a bit when Josh ran to my yells. He battled off the beast on his own with a good bit of a beating. He was laying there. Breathing heavily. Bleeding constantly. I couldn't do anything. I didn't know how to apparate, we were alone." Kandler's eyes went out of focus. "I sat there with him until he died...Days later they came looking for us and just found me there on the brink of insanity."
