(H:TB)A quiet moment

[Helia Ollivander]

Helia walked into the three broomsticks, making her way to the bar and ordering two butter beers. She took them over to a booth in the back of the shop beside the window. She drank one quickly and discarded it, then began to slowly sip the other, all the while thinking 'If only this were fire whiskey'. Although there were people all around, chatting noisily and laughing and enjoying themselves, she was off in her own world, where everything was quiet.

[Draco Malfoy]

Draco watched the Ravenclaw order two butterbeers and his gaze followed her as she set them down on an empty table. There were a few moments where Draco waited for her company to show up, but they never did.

She drowned her first bottle quickly, and started tentatively on the second. Draco smirked, standing up and walking over to the table, his eyes on the two bottles in front of her.

"What happened to your date? Decided not to show up, did he?" He paused, glancing briefly around him before looking down at his nails, examining them with interest.

"Good choice on his part, I'd say."

She looked up at Malfoy, who had so rudely interupted her time of peace, "Bite me." she said, hatred dripping from her voice. "What makes you think I was expecting any company at all. Not everyone wants to be an attention hog like you." she batted her eyelashes and smiled sarcastically before taking another sip of her butter beer, "Oh, did you just get a manicure?" she said grabbing his hand and staring at his nails, "Oh, apparently not. Your cuticles could sure use some work..." she released his hand and then stared out the window, half hoping he would leave, and half hoping that she could use him as a way to vent her anger from the days events.

Draco brushed off his hand on his robes, sending a glare in Ravenclaw's direction. "Of course you're not expecting anyone, normal students drown two bottles of butterbeer regularly." Draco said, rolling his eyes.

Then, he dropped himself into the nearest seat at the table, smirking at the girl's repulsed expression. "My nails are perfect, Ollivander," He said with an air of indifference, "And why on earth would I get a manicure? That's a Muggle procedure..." He made a face.

"Well obviously I'm not normal then. You've stated that yourself on more than one occasion." she quirked an eyebrow. "I myself enjoy manicures. Muggle things facsinate me... I suppose they scare you though, the way try to pass them off as lesser than wizard things so that you don't have to deal with them." she shrugged. "I suppose we all have our silly fears, though I must say I fear of muggles is especially silly in my book..."

[Draco Malfoy]

Draco smirked, watching the Ravenclaw's eyes flare up with hatred. "Ah, but you see, Helia," He purred, his smirk growing at her disgruntled expression. "I'm not afraid of anything, least of all Muggles. They don't even have magic, after all..."

He leaned back on his chair, signaling Rosmerta to bring him his own Butterbeer. "And as for you liking manicures, of course you would, being a halfbreed and all." His eyes flashed.

She smiled and leaned towards him, "There are worse things than being a mud-blood." she stated vaguely, then leaned back in her chair once again. "And although you can say you fear nothing, I see past all that. The hard exterior, the daunting insults, it's all just a mask to keep people from seeing what a scared, pasty little boy you really are."

[Draco Malfoy]

Draco's eyes narrowed and his fingers gripped the table in front of him. "Actually, you're wrong. There is nothing worse than being a Mudblood..." He let his fingers relax and released his hold of the table, trying his best to regain his indifferent posture.

"I know when people are below me," He said, repeating his father's words. "Mudbloods and Halfbloods are definitely below me." His voice was barely above a whisper.

Then, he smirked, picking up his butterbeer. "And like I said before, I have no fears. I'm definitely not pasty either." He said, making a face before taking a large sip of his butterbeer.

[Brian Chase]

While Draco was drinking Brian hit the bottem of the glass forcing Draco to choke.

She smirked, she had rattled the calm and collected Draco Malfoy, "Sounds a little like you've been memorizing some sort of 'Idiots guide to being mean'. Surely you of all people can think up a better come back than 'I know when people are below me'. You're the famous Malfoy heir. Do, at least, be original."

She looked at Brian when he caused Malfoy to start choking on his drink, "Was that really necessary?" she asked curiously, as she conjured a napkin and handed it to Draco.

[Brian Chase]

"I don't know, but I felt like doing it."

[Helia Ollivander]

"I see." she rolled her eyes. "You just do whatever if it feels right, huh?" she said, a slight bitterness to her tone of voice.

[Brian Chase]

"I think I'll leave, you and scum behind." Brian said turning away and sitting at the farest table.

[Draco Malfoy]

Draco coughed, his lips slightly bruised where the bottle had hit them. Finally finished his coughing fit, he took the offered napkin with a sneer.

"I do hope that isn't the date you were waiting for. You may be a Halfbreed and you may be a Ravenclaw, but you can definitely do better than that." His head nodded slightly toward Chase.

Then, he brushed the hair away from his eyes, noticing the slight tension in the room, Ollivander's eyes angry and distant as she stared at the table Chase now occupied. He couldn't help scoffing at the girl.

"Love is for the weak-hearted, Ollivander." He said simply, before gathering his things and pulling himself off the chair.

"I told you already, I'm not waiting for anyone. I just happen to thouroughly enjoy the taste of butter beer, okay? But for once you and I agree on something. Love is for fools." she cast him an emotionless glance, then resumed drinking her butter beer, staring blankly out the window. She began humming softly to herself, attempting to return to the quiet world in her head.
