Carrie had been aimlessly wandering the shops of Hogsmede for quite a while, in a vain attempt to fulfil her boredom. So far, she had managed to enviously look at the new range of brooms and buy the grand total of one butterbeer. Not exactly the most fun day out so far.
It wasn't a particularly sunny day in town, but the thick clouds were insulating the heat and making it especially muggy. The Gryffindor's cheeks were tinted pink with the warmth, and she decided to settle herself down on the bench to the left of Madam Puddifoots, where they seemed to be a comfortable breeze.

Boggleworth wandered through Hogsmeade on prefect duty or at least that was his excuse, but if he saw anyone who shouldn't be there he would give them a telling off and probably haul them back to school, but he didn't really want to search for them either so he stuck to the main streets. But then he saw Carrie looking rather hot on a bench so he walked up to her saying "y'alright Carrie, how's life treating you?" he then plonked himself down on the bench next to her

Carrie greeted Henry with a grin. 'Hey there Bog.' She smirked at the nickname that had seemed to have developed for the Hufflepuff. 'Yeh, I'm good. Bit too humid today though.' She commented looking up at the cloudy sky thoughtfully, before returning her gaze back down. 'So, hows everything with you? Anything new?' The Gryffindor asked, genuinely intrigued to know whether his life was ending up more eventful than her own at that moment.

Boggleworth stretched "well, lots, I hope you've got a while!" he grinned "Most importantly I've actually fallen in love! yes me of all people! I've fallen head over heels for Grace!" Boggleworth smiled nearly falling into a daydream about Grace, the hot weather's getting to me he thought I'm daydreaming!

Carrie once again grinned at the lads enthusiasm before answering. 'Ah, you and Grace eh?' She said approvingly, not particularly surprised by the match. 'You'll make a good couple.' She said with a smile, trying not to laugh at the quite obvious daydream Henry had gone in to. 'So, what finds you in Hogsmede?' The Gryffindor asked, wondering whether he had more of a purpose than herself.

Boggleworth shook himself from his daydream wanting a good conversation with Carrie whom he admired "why thankyou, I think so too!" he smiled almost falling into a daydream again "well, my usual, pretending, I mean doing prefect duty!" he grinned and carried on "tis a difficult job prefecting!" he said sarcastically "there are so many firsties to punish and so little time to get them all!" he joked

Carrie gave out a slight laugh. 'I wouldn't have thought you to be a harsh one!' She commented with a grin. 'Hope you're not scaring too many first years!' She joked. Carrie considered what being a prefect must be like, she didn't particularly care about the power side of things nor the responsibility.. but exploring the castle at god knows what time "to patrol" sounded quite fun.
Then again, that would probably defeat the object. 'Many perks to prefecting?' Carrie asked, continuing her trail of thought.

Boggleworth laughed Carrie had seemingly misunderstood him slightly "hee hee I don't take away points, no, I tell them to be off quick before someone comes who will take points!" Boggleworth smiled he thought Carrie would make a good prefect herself and it'd be good for someone to join him patrolling and finding all the secret passages "perks from prefecting, well I just enjoy it! not the authority just the patrolling and giving advice, if I like the culprit I'll help them escape teachers even!" he laughed as he remembered bungling a second year into a secret passage as a teacher walked past, the look on their face and been comical as a prefect helped them out "you should join me sometime, tis the only time I work!"

For some unknown reason Girty had decided to sit in the middle of the street. She did not know what possessed her she just did . A spur of the moment thing. People were moving around her but she saw too figures sitting on a bench. She stuck her hand in the air and waved it like an idiot while shouting. "Carrie...Bog!!!"

Carrie heard a shout coming from across the street, and after a moment of two of confusion, realised she needed to lower her gaze to see Girty sitting herself on the floor. Carrie grinned and gave a wave back, admittedly, a far less vigrous movement than that of the Hufflepuff.
The Gryffindor turned back to Henry to continue their conversation. 'Hmm maybe, though I don't think I'm a good enough girl to be a prefect.' She said jokingly. 'Must be pretty good having the freedom to wander the whole castle though. Bet you've ended up in all sorts of places.' Carrie admitted thoughtfully.

Boggleworth waved happily to Girty then exclaimed "ah yes, anywhere you can think of, I will have ventured there and more places besides!" Boggleworth enjoyed talking to Carrie and he thought she'd make a good prefect "believe me you'll make a better prefect than me!"

'No, no! Not true at all!' Carrie said with a laugh. 'Afterall, I got no badge in the post, so its obviously not meant to be!' She wasn't particularly bothered about the fact.. she had never wanted it anyway. She thought about how the prefects always had a load of duties to attend to on the first day back at school.. and how all she ever wanted to do when she got back was eat and sleep. 'So wheres the best place you've ever found?' Carrie asked finding it quite intriguing that he had obviously been exploring the majority of the year.

Boggleworth laughed seeing Carrie's obvious curiousity but knowing she, like him, didn't really want the responsibility, "well wouldn't you like to know! I'll show you one time, if you come on duty with me! I think that's a fair deal!" he smiled

Girty started to feel like she was in the way, the two on the bench had acknowledged her being there but nothing more. To save her feeling even more left out she stood up and moved toward them. She approached with a smile but the two were in deep conversation. She wanted to pluck up the courage to say hello but did not wish to disturb them, so she ended up standing still with her hair blowing in the wind.

Boggleworth saw Girty approach and wondered why she was acting cautiously or was it even shyly! "don't just stand there like a prune! come and sit down!" he shouted cheerfully to Girty, patting the seat "there's room for one more!"
