Lisa walked toward the bookshelves, her fingers trailing across the many spines of the numerous books. Looking closely at the titles, she stopped moving, and read one in particular. A Transfiguration book, just what she needed. Hoisting it off the shelf, she clumsily tried her best to hold the large weight, along with other small books piled on top of it, to her table. Finally reaching her seat, she dropped the books on the table with a loud thud, looking sheepishly at the furious students who had been watching her create all the noise.
Opening up the book, she took out a fresh sheet of parchment, ready to start studying. She would have much rather liked to have done her studying her dorm, but the five girls she shared a dorm with were very noisy- Always gossiping about boys. In fact, they all seemed to have a boyfriend… Everyone seemed to be pairing up lately. It was really quite annoying how they'd sometimes stop in the corridors for a quick kiss, blocking her way. Not to mention, it was a bit awkward too. Her mind went back to the prefect meeting, wondering if the news had spread. Maybe everyone was looking for dates.
Slumping into her chair, she shook her head, trying her hardest to avoid the mushy couples around her. Making a face, she flipped the page.

Helia walked into the library, isghing softly to herself. She looked around for a transfiguration book, but it looked like all the good ones had been borrowed already. She shrugged then walked over to the foreign language section and picked up a couple of latin dictionaries. She thumbed through them quickly to see if either of them would be helpful, then put one back and grabbed one in portuguese. She began reading thorugh them as she walked towards a desk, but accidentally bumped into a third year hufflpuff boy, "Oh, sorry." she said, then saw Lisa sitting a few rows away. She smiled and walked over, "Mind if I join you?"

Lisa's eyes fluttered across the book, taking in all the information she could. Reading had always been one of her most favorite things to do. Just as she was about to bookmark her page, feeling slightly restless, she heard a bit of commotion and looked up to see a third-year boy in her house collide with Helia. Smiling, she watched as the Ravenclaw approached her table, glad for the company.
"I don't mind at all!" She said, making room on the table, stashing away her many books. Looking at the titles in the Ravenclaw's hands, she added, "Interesting book you've got there."

"Couldn't find any Transfiguration books, so I thought I might be able to get around them." she shrugged. "It's how I was able to get my artichoke to turn red without the difficult wand movements." she smiled, then looked at the titles of Lisas books, "Apparently stressed minds think alike."

Lisa blushed, and gave a small laugh, pushing her Transfiguration books toward Helia. "I didn't realize I took so many!"
Then, setting down her quill, she glanced at Helia curiously, remembering how hard changing the artichoke's physical properties had been for her. "You actually look for your own spells and manipulate them for your own purposes?" She said, her voice filled with awe. "No wonder you're a Ravenclaw!" She exclaimed, smiling.

"Sort of." she shrugged, "Most spells are based on latin root words, so it isn't that difficult to manipulate a latin dictionary and come up with what you're looking for. I myself have learned though, that since the Portuguese language is both stronger and more fluid than latin, it comes in more handy with charms and transfigurations." she blushed, realizing how she'd rambled on. "Yeah... that's why I'm a Ravenclaw." she chuckled.

Lisa smiled, her gaze drifting to the book. "That's really interesting... Imagine all the great spells you could create! It must be hard coming up with the wand movements, though." She said as an afterthought, looking back up at Helia.

"Yeah, but once I figure them out it's usually a lot simpler than the ones most people use. Really, all a wand movement is, is telling the spell what it's supposed to do, most people think it's a lot more complicated than that. Some people say that it has to do with the geometric shapes and alignments with nature and the itme space continuem, but its not. As long as the spell says what its supposed to do, and the wand movement says where the spell should go it all works out."

Lisa raised her eyebrows, impressed. Grinning, she looked at Helia before replying. "You'd make a great professor!"
Then, turning back to her book, the grin faded into a small smile. "Transfiguration used to be one of my best subjects... For some reason I feel more partial to Potions this year. I'm trying to catch up, though, in L'keitha's class." She paused for a moment, scribbling down a few words with a look of concentration on her face.
"Are your stress problems anything like my own?" She said, her attention moving back to the Ravenclaw, a look of slight exhaustion on her face.

"Probably. School is hard enough without all these lovebirds, right?" she nodded to a hufflepuff and gryffindor close by he were acting all 'new found soul mate' with each other. She sighed slightly, despite herself she had recently not been able to keep from thinking that there was a certain someone in this school that she would like to be able to walk around with, hand in hand and such. She mentally scolded herself 'You know he was at the lake with that other girl, you knwo that those little first years wouldn't lie to you. It would've never worked out anyways. Love is for fairytales' she sighed, then took a deep breath and brightened up, "Anyways, yeah. Potions class is really cool this year too. Wigglyfish is awesome."

Lisa nodded, leaning her head in her hand. "Oh, I know! They seem to be everywhere now-a-days!" She said, shaking her head watching the couple Helia had pointed out. "Maybe we're just getting older... But still..." Her voice trailed off and she looked back at Helia, who seemed as if she were struggling mentally with herself.
"And yes, Potions is great! You can do so much with them... Helia? Is there something wrong?" She asked, her hands dropping to her sides once more, watching the girl's eyes which seemed distant and slightly disheartened.

"Nothing I won't grow out of..." she smirked. "Honestly, I have a huge crush on Brian Chase... but this morning a bunch of first year girls told me they saw him at the lake with another girl, so I'm forcing myself to get over it. Maybe now that that crush is over I'll do better in classes." she giggled. "But let's get off the subject of lovebirds and crushes and all that goopy mess. What's your favorite class right now?"

Lisa laughed at Helia’s choice of words, thankful that the girl wasn’t anything like the girls in her dorm who cried for hours on end when their latest crush didn’t notice them. Sending Helia an admiring glance for being so easy-going about it all, she shrugged.
“Just whoop Chase in the next Quidditch match you guys play against each other. Let out some of that built-up frustration, you know.” She said, with a grin. Then, turning to the books on the table, she smiled.
“Right now it’s either Herbology or Potions. What about you?”

"Oh?" Lisa said softly, trying not to make anymore unneeded noise in the library. "I haven't been to an Astronomy class... Maybe I'll go to our next one. If you recommend it, of course." She smiled slightly, before flipping to the index of her book.
"Eriksson does make History of Magic interesting with that new method. It's sort of like watching a Muggle movie," she said, remebering her experiences with her first Muggle film. She actually did enjoy it quite a lot.
