Grace smiled at Bog. She took another bite of her tart and looked to the slytherin table. She stared at the end where no one sat. The corner of her mouth twitched and she looked on the spot a little longer. Then she realized where she was. She jerked out of her daze and looked back to Bog. "The best milk tart I've ever had!" she said and smiled.

"good!" said Boggleworth and being perceptive he saw Grace staring at the Slytherin table "you just seen a ghost?" he asked, then realised that, that could have been the case. "not thinking of some Slytherin boy are you?" he asked cheerfully hmmm why did she stare there I wonder, well she'd tell me if there was something wrong I'm sure

Grace looked at the slytherin table again before turning her attention back to her tart. "No," she mumbled, "I just thought I saw someone I know it would be impossible to see." She looked at Bog and smiled. She leaned in and kissed him. "You're the only one for me," she said with a smile.

Boggleworth didn't blush easily but with that kiss his cheeks and face lit up. He said his voice surprisingly firm "and you're the only one for me too!" but he couldn't help but have one eye on the Slytherin table, but the other totally focused on Grace. His eyes sparkled but his mind kept focused "someone it's impossible to see and who might that, no sorry if you don't want to talk about them"

Grace smiled. But then it faded. She didn't want to talk about it, she still didn't fully understand it and felt he might not see what she wanted him to. I actually know he won't, she thought. She looked back to her plate and ate the last of her milk tart, distractedly.

Seeing Grace didn't want to talk about it Boggleworth changed the subject, to his own problems "Well if you're sure, remember I will listen to anything you have to say! I dunno about this bloomin diary of mine, if it even is mine!" he said exasperatedly "But you know your past, I don't know whether that's far better or much, much worse really, if I talk about the diary to you, then will you tell me whats troubling you?" he asked "It'll help the both of us I'm sure!" he grinned

This was a difficult thing to answer. She wanted to hear about Boggleworth's diary but she didn't want to- though maybe I should? she thought. Eventually, she nodded in agreement then hastily added, "you first." For she needed to pluck up the courage to tell him what was going on.

"Well it's quite simple really!" started Boggleworth putting his feet up on the table, this was going to take a while. "You see I've still no idea whatsoever, whether it really is mine! Ok maybe I'm just not facing reality, but remember Grace" he said ernestly "it doesn't change me at all, ok?"

Grace saw confused but nodded slowly. She of all people would understand ones past did not dictate who they were, even if she did not always see it that way she knew it was true. "Go on..." she whispered.

Boggleworth wondered quite how to carry on. He knew Grace was in no hurry to fulfill her part of the bargain so he resumed in an unusually serious tone "well, I don't really know what to say! It's so confusing and un-believeable! Do I really want to know the truth or is it best left hidden!"

Grace looked at Bog. "You mean after all that we've done to find out what happened you just want to drop it?" She slammed her fork down on the table, "no," she said, strength resonating from some hidden place deep inside her, "we've come too far and discovered far too many things that need answers to just leave it be. We- I need to know that you're not the person in that ruddy book, I know you aren't but I need to make sure."

"but what if I bloody well am! That's what I'm scared of! It can't be me, but what if it is?" he couldn't stop the nagging doubt in his mind, when he thought about the diary, but he'd learnt to block it away in a tiny corner of his mind. "oh well I suppose you're right!" he chuckled.

Grace nodded her head vindictively. She picked up her fork and looked to a near by slice of milk tart. She added quietly, "besides, your past doesn't change who you are now. That knowledge could only enlighten you to why you ended up with your uncle."

Boggleworth liked it when Grace gave her words of wisdom, and she always made him feel better. "You're so right! Well that's enough of me! Now it's your turn!" he said glad his turn was over, it hadn't really lasted long at all, but he hated thinking of that darn diary!
