Brandon walked down the sidewalk, his hands in his pockets. His regular robes were too itchy, he had decided, in the hot weather. Instead he left them at the castle and wore only the dress shirt and ordinary black slacks of his hogwarts uniform as he wandered aimlessly.
Hogsmeade seemed like a fun enough place, and he curiously studied all the shops, smiling as he noticed an owl emporium just across the street. He had always wanted an owl...
He walked inside cautiously, grinning as the sounds of dozens of hooting owls reached his ears.

Keifer had decided to go and check the owl emporiam out. He hadnt got a chance to yet. As he went to push the door open it flung open a little more quickly than he would have liked, stumbling through and finding the counter he noticed Brandon. "Uh.. hi.. thought id..." he thought about his current situtation and laughed "Drop by i guess"

Brandon stared at Keifer for a moment, stunned, before laughing. "Which reminds me! Hows that bump on your head doing? Can't see it at all, must be a small one," he smiled, slight concern in his eyes before glancing around at all the owls.
"They're incredible creatures, owls! Aren't they?" He said, cheerfully. Keifer's presence had become one he was used to, which allowed him to be a little more carefree. "Think you're going to get one?" He looked back at Ravenclaw with a small smile.

He smiled "Was going to and send it to my sister for her birthday. The bumbs all but gone now haha owls are magnificent creatures" He said looking around "What sort you looking for Brandon?"

"Glad to hear it." Brandon said, catching Keifer's eyes and smiling to himself, before letting out a thoughtful hum. "Not something too big... or small! Something gentle..." He turned back to Keifer.

"Sounds like me!" He laughed. He looked around and grabbed Brandons arm "Aww that one!" he said pointing to a small brown tawny owl. He looked at Brandon "I think that one looked quite.. gentle"

Brandon looked surprise as the hand grabbed him, but it slowly turned into one of timid enjoyment as he looked from Keifer to the owl. "It does, it's really beautiful too, isn't it?" He glanced back at Keifer, noticing his hand was still on his arm and blushed.

Keifer nodded in agreement "Yeah it is" he looked at Brandon who was blushing and smiled "I like the fact you blush so much in front of me" he said still smiling at him.

Brandon lowered his gaze, pulling his arm away and feeling his fingers catch on to Keifers before landing at his side. He looked back up with a smile and ran a hand through his hair, biting his lip to hold back a grin. "I don't usually blush this often..." He said, slightly embarrassed.

He looked down when he felt Brandons fingers on his hand and blushed. "My turn i take it" he laughed as he looked at Brandon.

Brandon laughed, looking at Keifer in the eyes before glancing around once more, "Is that a particular owl you think your sister would want..."

Brandon's smile faded slightly, and he looked at Keifer with a little sympathy. "Oh... This might help break the ice? Did you guys have a fight, or something?" He asked, hoping he wasn't intruding.

Keifer shook his head. "No" he looked down "My dad... He's uhm.. Homophobic and well.. when he found out he didnt want me anywhere near Kaydeane" he told him "Me and her were so close, she was hurt when she found out because i just left and didnt tell her why... Maybe i should write to her, explaining?" He looked at Brandon. "Anyway, were here for you'r owl so.." he continued looking around.

Brandon stayed quiet for a moment, not knowing exactly what to do. After a few awkward shifts in his posture, he faced Keifer in order to stop him from glancing around the shop and felt his cheeks grow warm. "Your father had no right... I'm really sorry." He slowly pushed back the hair that covered Keifer's eyes with a small smile, "if you write to her, she should understand. The owl will help too," he said softly. "I think maybe you should have the brown one."
