The door of your carriage fly’s open and the hubble and bustle that had been hidden from you is now all so apparent. The sounds of hundreds of people talking fills your ears, the sight of camera’s flashing away as journalist try and get people attention to look at them in hope they get the best shot. But as you carefully step out of the carriage everyone’s gaze falls upon you. The hushed silence is deafening compared to the roar that there had previously been, but it does not last long.
Soon you are being ushered up the luxury red carpet, smiling, posing for every person, and the crowds of fans are screaming some even crying at the mere sight of you. Knowing that the fans are everything you wonder over sign a few t-shirts, give out a few hugs and even the odd kiss to those lucky individuals but then you have to face the carnivorous press.
Quick quote quills dash along the parchments twisting every word you say, all the wide eyed press do is look on and take pictures of you, ask questions you really do not want to answer. You smile, laugh, try to ignore some questions, others you answer with such an openness you start to dread the possible headlines as you walk away into the theatre itself.
Once you have reached the safety of the double doors, out of the clawing grasp of the press you feel safe and pleased that the only people around you know are you competitors for the awards. Letting out a long sigh you see a waiter with a tray of full champagne flutes. Reaching out you take hold of the thin glass and sip on the sweet nectar and start to socialise.
“Ladies and Gentleman can you please take your seats.”
Doing as the commanding voice orders you all file into the grand theatre, excitement and tension is slowly filling the air. Everyone is still admiring everyone else, commenting how elegant they look, how they should dress like this more often. But this is soon forgotten once everyone is seated and the lights dim down. The curtain on the stage draws back, you find yourself holding your breath as you wait for it to start. Your heart is beating with a mixture of nerves and pure adrenalin.
Then on the stage you see a silhouette slowly shuffle their way to the centre of the stage, and then a shaft of light appears forming a spot light on the old man. His long silver beard shines in the light; his purple robes look so grand, then his deep voice sounds out.
“Welcome to the Rid awards!”

After the applause dies down the old man grins at everyone and from inside his robe he pulls out the first gold envelope. On the screen behind him the names and pictures of all the nominations flash up. His old figures start to shake has he opens the paper and carefully slides out the card and his eyes dart over the name of the winner.
“And the winner of best font is…” Acceptance speech:-Arching an eyebrow at the sudden, unexpecting receiving of the award for best writing, Erys Grace couldn't help but laugh some. So the faculty had been monitoring everyones homework to see who was the neatest and prettiest at scribbling down stuff? How amusing. Still, it seemed she was the first winner to be called, and that meant something, at least a little bit. To think that the rest of the Hogwarts populous possessed messy penmanship was very uplifting, in the confidence factor, let alone amusement. Honestly though, everyone seemed so excited to get their awards and gifts.. And recent popularity, due to the hounding press mashing cameras in their faces. She wasn't as tickled as the rest of them - though still pleased, dont get her wrong -, she had a calm and collected reputation to upkeep. Standing fluidly, the Slytherin walked gracefully towards him and accepted the award with warm fingers. Expecting some cheering from her house friends, Erys wore a confident grin, her eyes a flash of lavendar and gold. Watching the thick crowd with a short pause, she parted her lips, her responce very different to her fellow students, "I was expecting this. Thanks." So much for an acceptance speech, eh? Well, what do you expect? Tears and thank-yous? Erys perfected her writing on her own, no one had helped her. Flashing a pleasant yet smug smile at the elderly fellow before turning back around, Erys slunk back to her seat, award clasped within her steady grip. Waving to her Slytherin friends, she sat down, staring at the 'gift' of sorts with silent pride. Acceptance speech:- Acceptance speech:-“YAY I am a geek!”
Girty shot out of her chair and walked down the aisle rather quickly, up onto the stage, greeted to man and quickly took hold of the award just to make sure it was real.
“My farther always said that being picked as the teachers pet is not a negative thing, and well if it means I get a nice shiny trophy then I have to agree with him. I suppose this really plays up the Hufflepuff stereotype with the whole ‘hard working’ rubbish, but to be honest I can not remember half of these lessons so I must have been their in person but not in mind …most likely it was still in bed. Thanks to all my professors and class mates and I look forward to my final year with you all.” Acceptance speech:-Dan stumbled onto stage waving to the audience with one hand and had a glass of wine in the other. Walking in a relatively straight line he reached the old wizard and shook his hand rather vigorously before turning back to the audience.
“You all love me, I knew it!” With a small laugh he took a large gulp out of his wine and set it on the lectern in front of him and continued his rather slurred speech. “But whatever….this means a lot me as a teacher as I hate this job so much, but if you guys love me then I will have to stay. So erm…thanks….erm…HUGE thanks to my family for putting up with me, Darrow for giving me so many second chances…..if anyone else had been headmaster I would have been sent packing in my first week. Thanks to all my Hufflepuffs, I love you to death and most of all Dia…love you darling!”
With a smaller wave Dan picked up the award and his almost empty wine glass and headed off the edge of the stage. Acceptance speech:- Acceptance speech:- Acceptance speech:- Acceptance speech:-Jac, being the competitive spirit she was, jumped up as her name was called. She had known she was going to win; there had been no doubt in her mind that she would. Quickly straightening her black suit with vertical, bright orange stripes, Jac made her way to the stage. She gave the old man a one armed hug and light kiss as she took the trophy from him. “Thanks,” she said softly to him and gave him a smile. Turning to the audience, Jac laughed. She couldn’t stop smiling and didn’t want to. She looked to Girty and winked at her. “Wow,” she said, taking a deep breath and shaking the trophy in her hand. “That’s as much as I’ve got to say: wow!” She laughed as the audience did. She quickly took a ruffled parchment out of her inner jacket pocket and unfolded it. She looked down and laughed again. “If I didn’t write it all down I’d have forgotten someone and that wouldn’t have been good. “First of all, I’d like to thank my competitors for this category. Each one of us are daring but it seems everyone else thinks I’m more so that’s how the dice fell.” Jac looked up from her parchment and smiled. “Next, I’d like to thank my parents, Thomas and Maddisson, for all their love and support always. Ed, Trish, Al, and Lex, thanks to you guys too. Grace, Girty, Dean, Ginny, Poppy, Josh, and the really special Sophie, Ian and Elijah, thanks all for your constant support and putting up with my antics.” Jac could no longer read her hand writing so knew it was time to stop. “Thanks everyone for your votes, thanks.” Jac waved to her parents who had been sitting next to her and left the stage. Acceptance speech:- Ashton beamed when his name was called for the 'Waterbaby' award. Smiling, Ashton got up from his seat and made his way up to the stage to recieve his award. He smiled at the old man, as he took the award. He turned to face the audience and smiled, "Well, I certainly wasn't expecting this award!" he said. "Although I do seem to spend the majority of my time at the lake, so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised!" he said, laughing. He paused as he remembered all the times he'd been at the lake. "I guess you could say the lake is a very special place for me. It holds so many memories, both good and bad. It's where I met Maxi, and it's where I revealed my darkest secret. He smiled out at the audience. "So, I'd like to thank everyone who voted for me, without you guys, I wouldn't be up here holding this award. So thank you." With one final smile, Ashton walked off the stage and headed back to his seat. Acceptance speech:- Acceptance speech:-Growing red, Ian's eyes widened as he was pushed off his seat by the rowdy Gryffindor's sitting beside him. Quickly brushing off the crumbs of the very delicious (and very free) refreshments from his jacket, he walked uncertainly up to the stage.
A quick quotes quill continuously jabbed him shoulder as he finally stepped up in front of everyone. Raising a brow at the crowd, he held up a finger while patting down his front pockets. Finally pulling out a scrunched up piece of parchment, he cleared his throat.
"Well, I wasn't expecting this..." He said awkwardly, while looking toward his crumpled parchment pointedly, a crooked smile on his face. "...Obviously."
Then, stuffing it back in his pocket, he held the award up. "And anyway, I know you all only loved me because I was the only Head Boy that suffered through more detentions than he gave." With his ears still a light pink, he grinned before nodding and walking back to his seat... All the while oblivious to the crumbs still scattered on his chin. Acceptance speech:- Acceptance speech:- Acceptance speech:- Acceptance speech:-Quinn was seated very quietly, very calmly, watching, always watching. People fascinated her and she observed their strange pass times and celebrations. She thought many of these awards were farces and that it wouldn’t affect her if she won or not. However, the old man called her name out. Quinn’s eyes went wide and a smug, proud sneer slithered onto her face. Slowly, quite at her leisure, Quinn made her way to the stage. Giving the old man a half hearted kiss on the cheek, she quickly snatched the award from his clutches.
Quinn stepped forward and looked at the crowd. She knew few of them and didn’t care for any other them so in her books it would be alright to tell them what she thought of them. However, a nagging in the back of her head urged her to be civil if niceties could not be adhered to. She cleared her throat and looked at the award in her hand. “What a sorry bunch of Charlie’s you all are for giving me this. There are far more rear-kicking people out there,” Quinn said with a dead pan face. “I haven’t met any other them but I’ve heard there are and when I do bump into them I’ll be sure to let them know you’re all looking for them.” She winked into the dark mass of people and left the stage. Acceptance speech:-Girty walked along the stage founding it hard not to hide the bemused look on her face. After greeting the old wizard again with a quick kiss on the cheek she picked up the award and gave a small laugh.
“Well I did not think I would win this one, I thought I hid it well that I was ripped apart by Thom’s death. But clearly not…..It was a tough end of the year really with losing Thom, the start of the Quadwizard tournament and then Dan nearly dying. So although I may have been the one who had the emotional break down in the forest it is thanks to these guys that I got into that state so yeah…this one is for you guys!”
Raising the award in the air as a salute to everyone she had thanked Girty turned on her heel and walked off the stage. Acceptance speech:- Acceptance speech:- Acceptance speech:- Acceptance speech:-

The theatre falls silent after the applause dies down. The old man in the silver beard looks out over the many faces, the same exited smile on his face from when the award ceremony began. Then with a small wave of his wand the lights in the hall raise a little, and he beds down and pulls out another set of awards.
“These awards are indeed the most special and heart warming. So I want extra loud cheering. The first award goes too…” Acceptance speech:- Acceptance speech:-Liz side note:- I would like to add that in my eyes, everyone who roles plays on this site are amazing writers. The ideas and verity of styles is truly amazing and I feel so lucky to be surrounded by such amazing writers. I wish everyone could have got an award….but instead you will have to content with a virtual hug from me hehe *HUGS*

Just so you all know what is happening. For all those who won awards points will be awarded to there house or a house of their choice. It is 10 points if you won the category and if you got at least 1 vote you will get 5 points. For the ‘best threads’ awards the creator will get 10 points while everyone else who took part will gain 5! (only in the winning thread)
One of your accounts will get a PM is you are entitled to points!
The acceptance speeches are just a bit of fun and you do not have to do them if you do not want too. My idea was for them to be in done in character to make it a tiny bit more fun….but like I said you do not have to do it. If you do want one just post it into this thread and I will move it into its right place….also state where you want your house points going and er… Yeah thanks for reading and feel free to post in this thread what ever you want as long as it stays within the rules of the site!

Erys Grace's 20 points to Slytherin, and Cessily's 5 to Slytherin.
Just another question.. Wouldn't it be strange for Erys to go up on stage and give a speech on font? Should I give an acceptance speech?

I do not care what you decide to do!
If you could actually understand that nonsense and came some sense out of it you have done better then me haha and I wrote it. But basically do what you think best and more importantly want to do.
